Reaching out to seniors, and looking up videos on youtube are all things that helped me on my journey to good grades. Luckily we live in a generation of extreme advances in the internet that can boost our grades to the max. However, this also contradicts our distractions such as social media. I for one did not use too much social media by eliminating it to begin with. I have never had Instagram which seriously put me at an advantage by not only having lesser distractions than my peers but also avoiding trouble and self-esteem issues. Reaching out to people might not be easy without social media but emails and in-person conversations are far better than having the excuse of having social media to supposedly "reach out" to alumni. If you're scared people will judge you, what's the worst that could happen? They will not reply. Move on, find someone new to pester.
