There was a house that was nearly isolated from everywhere else. The windows were shut, the door was closed and the lights were off.
It was close to midnight when all of this took place. The sky, dark with a few light spots here and there to show the clouds full of rain, the street lamps glowing dimly in the street, their light not as bright as it should be, the wind carrying lush green leaves through the neighbourhood and rustling the plants such as a rose bush in the garden of a dark grey home.
This home housed a family consisting of four members, they were all what we considered to be normal and they all happen to lead very normal lives as well. The husband would go to work everyday earning money for his family, the wife would stay at home and do the cleaning, the cooking and so forth leaving the two children that they have to go to school and spend time with their friends along with various of other things. It was a very normal and very orderly life that they all lead and it was very happy much like their home which was accustomed to positive emotions. Happiness, excitement and love were often felt in this dark grey home, making anger and sadness to be a rare thing in the household and for bloodlust and insanity to be nonexistent.
Right now the family were situated in the living room, watching TV. They were all smiling and very happy about doing this activity while a girl about fifteen years old played on the grand piano that was in the next room, her fingers flying across the keys letting out a rich and beautiful melody to be heard through out the house.
Sadly the family couldn't hear this lovely melody but that doesn't mean it went by, unnoticed. No, infact, a boy who also was fifteen years old as well, heard said melody. He didn't really care for it, it was just music- nothing special. The only special thing that he could find about this piece being played was that it showed someone was still up at this hour, perhaps he can convince them to go to sleep.
The boy walked over to the front door and opened it, letting himself into the home. The entrance was rather grand with white and black tiles dotting the area, leading up to a lovely polished wooden staircase that probably goes up to where the residents of this home sleep and leading off to the rooms on either side of it. He didn't care for it right now though, he needs to find that piano player first.
He walked through the archway on the right and he instantly frowned at the sight he saw. The rug was a light colour, probably white and had some dark spots on it, the pictures that hung on the wall were slightly damaged and looked as if they were going to fall apart at any moment. The tall lamp that stood beside the dark leather couch was switched off letting the TV to be the only source of light in the room with it showing static, but the furniture wasn't the thing that made the boy frown. It was the fact that the family was already asleep, he wanted to be the one that made them go to sleep and he wanted to be the one that made them beautiful. However someone beat him to it and that was just not allowed, especially since this person did a pretty good job at making both their eyes and smile beautiful.
The divine piano playing stopped briefly as the girl then got bored with it and wanted to move onto the violin, especially now that she has a proper audience. She got off the piano stool and grabbed ahold of the violin case, zipping it open to reveal the gorgeous, carved instrument and it's bow. She carefully took it out and placed it on her shoulder as she simultaneously placed the special bow on the set of strings. And just like that a new melody was formed and made it's way through the house and to the boy's ears making him walk towards the sound.
The girl was more of a piano person then anything really, she felt as if she had more control over that particular instrument oppose to the violin she was holding. Her half sister was always good at it, she made it seem as if the violin was apart of her and Cross Eyed just couldn't understand it, yet she understood the basics and the advance methods of playing the violin letting her be in control of a nice improvisation something that Natalie would definitely frown upon and shake her head at.
The boy walked into the room to be greeted by this scene- the girl dancing around whilst playing the violin. He didn't know why she was playing the violin nor did he know why she was playing the piano before, it didn't make sense to him but for dear Cross Eyed it made perfect sense, infact her plan would instantly crumble into smithereens if she had no music accompinent and that just wouldn't do.
Her gaze met the boy's and a smirk appeared on her face, glad that it was actually him that turned up instead of some other idiot.
"Why hello there Jeff." She said as she continued to play.
Jeff growled, his permanent smile managing to turn into a bit of a scowl, "how the hell do you know my name?"
"Research, police records, reports, ect." She replied vaguely, "you're not very good at covering your tracks then again, what is there to expect from a person much like yourself?"
"I wasn't exactly expecting someone to track me down." He spat, lunging towards the girl with his knife. She dodged him.
"Tsk, tsk, someone's angry. Has anyone told you how rude it is to attack your host?"
"Has anyone told you how rude it is to steal someone's kill?" He lunged again, trying to stab her with his knife but she ducked once more, missing him just by a centimetre and continued to play that stupid violin.
"I was about to ask you the same thing especially since you stole a very important one from me." She explained as she began to walk away from the killer. "I had planned it for months and I was just about to destroy them when you swooped in and killed them all!"
"Not my fault you left them alone for too long, princess." He said as he attempted to stab her once more but she continued to back away from him.
"Princess?" She cocked her head slightly as her sister was usual the one that was referred as the princess in the family. The fact that someone was calling her princess now felt... Slightly strange.
He growled and continued to attack, getting closer and closer with cutting her face, "I don't know who the f*ck you are and you're acting as if you're royalty, so princess."
"Well then Princey, the name is Cynical but you can refer to me as Cross Eyed- whatever tickles your fancy." She replied, picking up the speed on her violin playing as Jeff started to get more quick with his attacks.
The two continued to go back and forth, one dodging while the other attacked. Their playful banter didn't ceased as things began to get more heated, matching up to the violin that Cyn continued to play. She now stood on the piano dodging the swipes that she was met with. She did a little twirl and kicked the knife out of the joker reject's hand making him back slightly away as she then tried to attack him, trying to kick him or hit him. This cause her to be more dramatic with her violin playing, building up the suspension as she then tried to cut his stomach open with her bow which had a blade hidden in it's structure. He easily dodged it and stepped aside before kicking her in the ribs and grabbing a sword that happened to be hanging on the wall behind him.
"Ooh sword fighting!" The scarred girl said in glee, "you know my sister was the better sword fighter in my family, but I'm not too bad. Pretty average if I say so myself." She tried once more to stab him with her bow/sword but her weapon was met with the blade of the sword that the fellow killer was holding. The two then slipped into a duel much to Jeff's annoyance, he preferred his knife and would have grabbed a hold of it if it weren't for the fact that it went under one of the pieces of furniture in the room. Until his knife was discovered he had his fists and this crappy sword to rely on but with his anger that continued to boil and bubble as the fight went on he got more leathful and more dangerous by the passing second. This wasn't overlooked by Cyn, she knew the guy was dangerous as the witness reports she had read described him as a demon but she just thought they were exaggerating, overcome by the terror of having to encounter the guy. She didn't thought for once how more true their descriptions were until now as she was now facing difficulty at dodging the guy. It wasn't until that he managed to cut her cheek did she kick him away and tried to avoid him more.
She decided then that she needed to speed her plan up slightly, and this was done by speeding up the music playing on her violin- something that Jeff hasn't bothered to take that much notice of as he continued to attack.
Ducking and dodging was what Cyn was doing until she saw an opening. She used her years of boxing to her advantage as she sent a quick kick to his ribs just as he lunged forward. He staggered a bit, quite surprise by how powerful it was but that didn't stop his continued attempts of killing this girl. No body steals his f*cking kills.
However it looks like he would have to put up with it as the boxer sent a kick to his stomach making her leg get cut in the process. He stumbled back as she kicked him once more sending him to the ground. Her leg was hurting slightly due to the rather deep cut that was made but she decided to ignore it, she wanted to complete her plan.
Cyn did finished off the improvisation making a loud click to be heard as she straddled Jeff making sure he doesn't escape. She set the violin and the bow on either side, ignoring the crimson blood that was trickling down her leg and no doubt staining her jeans.
"You really should have been paying attention to the violin." She whispered, a grin spread out on her face. "'cause now you're gonna die." She let out a laugh as her nose detected a foul odor, already she felt her arm spazzing out slightly. Jeff tried to get out but it was useless as she knocked him hard, dazing him. She dragged him over to where the family was with their cross shaped eyes and cross shaped smiles, she was very proud of her work.
Cyn grabbed a hold of her stuff and went out before shooting two bullets up into the sky, alerting the police before running off into the night.
This had now put Jeff in more of a foul mood, he was not pleased by the fact that his kill stealer got away and he was especially not pleased by him slowly loosing feeling in his body. You see, poison was now present in the house this is because of the fact that our character Cross Eyed or Cynical (whoever you wish to call her) had set up tanks of the stuff around the house and these tanks will only release this poison if a certain number of notes were played and if a certain number of pitches were present in the melody. Thus the reason why she was playing both the instruments and thus the reason Jeff was now loosing feeling as it was a poison much close to a tarantula's venom.
Jeff was dragging his way out as police sirens made it's way to the house, it was then that his hatred started for the girl with the scarred eyed. It was then did he demand revenge for what she nearly did to him.
