Lan Xichen had been thinking about his brother alot since he left. He wish he had a way to contact him but he does not know where he is and if he was fine. He found himself standing with his hands behind his back watching the visiting disciples. This year was supposed to bring the sect heirs together. Forming friendships and alliances between the different sects but it quickly turn sour and different. His eyes landed in the Jiang sect heir who have became even more angry as time went on. He can understand because as far as he knows he and Wei Wuxian was like brothers so this whole thing doesn't make sense at all. He sighs softly as he starts to walk and made his way towards his uncle's residence when he heard someone calls his name. He stops and turns around that's when he saw lady Wen walking towards him. Once she reached him she bowed and greets him. He returned the bow and greeting. When they straighten she took something from her sleeve and said. " First master Lan this one was asked to give this to you". And she holds the package out to him. He looks at it before he takes it and asked. "By who?". " By second young master lan". She answered. He draw a breath before he speaks again." You have seen him lady Wen? How is he? Could you please tell me where he is?". He asked with a under tone of sadness in his voice. " Yes I have and he is fine. I am sorry but I am not at liberty to say where he is. If you excuse me I have to go". She bows again and left. Xichen could just watch her. He looks at the package in his hand and put it in his sleeve before he starts walking again. He stops before the lanshi before knocks and waited for his uncle to give him permission to enter once he heard his voice he slide the door opened and step inside he bow and Lan Qiren waves him over to sit. He walked forward and took his place opposite his uncle who poured them both a cup off tea before he gave it to him. He took it and they sipped it silence. Once they were done they put their cups down before Lan Qiren asked him." Xichen have you heard anything from Wanji yet". He looked at his nephew and Xichen said. "I have just had an encounter with Young Lady Wen and she gave me this. She said it was from Wanji". He took out the package and put it on the table before them. "What is it? Did she tell where she had encounter him?". Lan Qiren asked.
" I have not opened it yet. And no. I did asked her but she said it was not for her to tell". He answered his uncle. Lan Qiren was not please with his answer. "Do you know how he and Wei Wuxian got so close in such a short time. That boy is really just like his mother. He has not even been here long and he have already corrupted my nephew. They have to be found and Wanji. We need to get him away from that boy before we loose him for good". Lan Qiren said with a displeased look on his face. Xichen did not know what to say to his uncle in response. Wanji always were stubborn but he also always follows his own mind and heart. One thing he knows is that the Wanji right now is not the brother he grew up with. There is something different about him but he also knows he can't point that out to his uncle because he got a one track mind. He instead reach for the package and opened it. He gasps when he saw what was inside but also confused. Why would Wanji send these talismans and for what reason. "What is it Xichen?". Lan Qiren asked. He took out the talismans and laid it out on the table for his uncle to see." Why would wanji send these? Will something happened to the Cloud Recess?". He asked his uncle who looked at the talismans and said. "Nothing will happen to the Cloud Recess xichen".

"But uncle as you know things are already happening around us. I think we should use it. Wanji would not have send it if it was not important in some way". He said as he looked at his uncle. "The elders would never allow us to use it. And our barriers are strong enough to hold if an attack should happen ". Lan Qiren said while stroking his beard.
"But we can convince them. Can't we?". He asked his uncle." Xichen even if we do they won't agree. So it would be best to put them away and not mention it to anyone. Do you hear me?". Lan Qiren said as he look at his nephew." Yes uncle". Shortly he excuse himself stood up and bow before he leave and made his way towards the hanshi. "Wanji what are you trying to tell us. Is something coming and you just want us to be prepared. I wish I could asked you personally. I miss you didi. My days are empty without you my little brother". He put the talismans in a safe place and went to sit behind his low table and started to short through the sect correspondence.

Huaisang has been watching and he had saw when the Wen siblings left at first he wanted to follow them but decided against it and he saw them come back and when lady Wen had handed Xichen a package. Must be from his brother. It has been fairly quiet since Wei Wuxian left. The place has become like a graveyard. One thing he knows is that he have to create an opportunity to talk to Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji sooner rather than later. Something just don't just right with him and not only the fact that they have become so close all off a sudden but they defected on the same day. Whatever happened for such a drastic change. Happened only to the two of them. He need to sit and think try to figure out what it could be. Fanning himself he don't like not knowing. Not being able to unravel this strange puzzle. He just hopes that when he does it will not be too late.

When the Wen siblings enters their room Wen Qing sat down at the low table as Wen Ning sat opposite her.
"Jie can you tell me what you had seen". He asked. She looks at her little brother and answers. "We need to prepare ourselves A-Ning or we will be the ones who will suffer the most". "What do you mean jie". He asked worriedly. "Do not worry A-Ning everything will be fine. We will be fine our family will be fine". She gave him a soft smile and he nods his head knowing he won't get anything out her. She stood up and starts to get his medicine ready. When it was done she gave it to him to drink which he did without a fuzz. When he was done he gave her the bowl back and she gave him a soft pat on his head before she cleanse the bowl and put it away. She told him to get some rest and he stood up and went to lay down. She sat with him until he doze off then she went and prepared herself a pot off tea. While she was waiting she thought of everything she saw. How her family got killed just for their surname. How they had suffered because of her uncle's greed for power and to rule the cultivation world. She will have to talk to them as soon as they get back and tell them everything that she have seen.

Back in Caiyi Town Wei Ying were hunched over a low table busy crafting talisman after talisman. They will need atleast confinement talismans and stunned talisman to fight the waterborne abyss. If he could craft a talisman that would hide them from wondering eyes that would be great. Especially him because he will have to use resentful energy against the waterborne abyss. Lan Zhan came walking in and take one look at Wei Ying and walked over to the table and sat down opposite him watching him scribbling away." Wei Ying we can't stay here to long". He said. " I know Lan Zhan. After we have dealt with this problem we can go". Wei Ying answers without looking up from what he is busy with. "How much longer before you are done?. You have to eat something ". Lan Zhan asked. "Not long Lan Zhan just have to make sure that everything is fine. I will eat something when I'm done. You can go ahead and eat so long". He answered. Lan Zhan shakes his head and lays his hand on Wei Ying's before he could make another stroke on the talisman he is busy with. Wei Ying looked up with a question on his face." No we eat now Wei Ying. You will need your strength more then me". Lan Zhan said firmly giving no room to argue. "Ah fine. So bossy Lan Zhan. Come let's go eat then". Wei Ying said with a smile on his face. They ate their food in silence. Lan Zhan made sure that Wei Ying were eating properly and not just chucking down his wine. When they were done Lan Zhan packed everything on the tray and put it outside the door. They have decided that they would go in the dead of night to deal with the waterborne abyss and after that they will go back to Tanzhou for now and starts to clean the place up so when the Wen arrived it could atleast be clean. So when night time arrived they waited for the towns people to go to sleep before they jumped through the window and made their way towards the river. They walked between the trees making their way futher down until Wei Ying feel the resentful energy not far from where they were." Lan Zhan we are close. It does not feel as strong as back then yet but we must still be careful". Wei Ying said and Lan Zhan nods his head. He took put wanji and Wei Ying took Chenqing out of his sash. They unsheath they swords and mounted it. They flew for awhile until they spotted the body of black water. "I will throw in the containment talismans Lan Zhan it will hold until we finish. You know what to do right". Wei Ying said. "Yes". Lan Zhan answers." Good let's get this over and done with. I want to leave this place as soon as possible ". They took their places and Wei Ying brought his dizi to his lips and Lan Zhan ready his fingers over the strings of Wanji. Wei Ying starts to play a eerie sound and the waterborne abyss immediately through out its black tendrils trying to catch the one playing the dizi. Together they starts to harmonize their melody. It fought them tooth and nail but they never break their concentration. It took them five hours to finally defeated it and playing rest to the dead. The water once again clear and safe. Tired they returned to the inn and flopped on the bed and went to sleep. The next morning they got up early got all their things ready and left for Tanzhou. They will meet up with Wen Qing and Wen Ning as soon as they send word that they are back at Dafan. They arrived outside of the town and walked towards the mansion. They stood before the ward and Wei Ying waved his hand and a small but big enough hole opened for them to walked through.
They made their way through the courtyard towards the entrance and when they got there they opened the doors and stepped inside. Looking around they realise just how much work needed to be done but first they need to rest and eat something. They did just that before they starts to clean the place up and it was no easy task. They made a list of things that they will need to buy. They still don't know how many people live in dafan. So they have to get a number from Wen Qing. The mansion is quite big and they are positive that no matter the total it will be sufficient. They went into town and bought enough food to feed an army. Wei Ying had decided that if need be he will sell his talismans and inventions that he is working on to get in more money. The two worked day and night fixing things that needed to be fix. When they were done they were very please with themselves and the work that they have done. While in town one of the vendors asked them if they would be living there and they said yes and that's when he informs them about a very rude young master in red robes that was here a few weeks ago and when he could not gain entry into the garden he was very angry. He warned them to be careful of him because he does not seem like a very nice man. They thanked him and walked back to the mansion. They had calculate that it would probably take them two months to move Wen Qing family depending on how many people there are. They also need to figure out how many guards are there. Maybe they would go there and walked around just to see for themselves. But for now they will enjoy the peace and quiet.
