"That was a total disaster, scratch that this whole ski trip has been a disaster." Karin says with distain shoving the last of my clothes inside the luggage.

"Not all of it was a complete disaster." I state reminiscing the time with Camila in the hospital room, causing a deep blush across my pale face.

Narrowing his blue eyes at me inquisitive like he asks, "Name one good thing that happened out of this trip."

Still looking at me like I lost the last part of my functioning brain cells Karin waits for an answer.

"I slept with Camila." I blurt out like word vomit causing Karin blue eyes to blink rapidly at me like he was one whose lost the last part of his functioning brain cells to even process what I said.

"You? Camila?" Karin manages to get two words out in disbelief. Which sort of offended me in a way. Like someone like him could sleep with her and someone like me couldn't.

Seeing the hurt in my eyes Karin goes on to explain, "it's not you Eve, it's Camila. She isn't good enough for you."

Hearing him say those words about her triggered something in me. Who was he out of all the people to judge?

"Who are you to judge?" I ask stating what I was thinking.

Taken back Karin opens his mouth to explain himself even more.  "Eve, she is known for breaking hearts. She shows interest the first couple months than breaks up with people later."

"She's difffent now." I argue back.

"Whose different now?" My mother adds into the conversation causing Karin and me to glare at one another in silence.

"No one." Karin snidely says gesturing for my father to help with the suit case.

My parents agreed to meet us here to help pack and load up stuff in my truck even though I didn't know how I or Karin was suppose to get a ride home back.

"Whose are ride?" I change topics fast already over this conversation.

"That would be me." Fiona out of breath says with her hands on her knees. Everyone was now in mine and Camila room and I felt like it was starting feel a little cramped.

"Didn't I say you guys needed to keep a distance?" My best friend rudely interjects causing me to nudge him in the ribs with my elbow.

"Don't be silly, Mr. Fields offered his daughter to drive you home sweetie." My mother says ignoring completely what Karin said.

I was going to open my mouth to object when my phone in my pocket buzzes off. Reaching for it my jacket pocket it was from Camila.

'Please let me be one take you home.' The rest read which caused me to become paranoid. Was she psychic or what?

"We all ready?" My mother asks and I didn't know what I was going to do if I should go with Fiona or stay and wait for Camila.
———-

Waiting. I absolutely hated waiting I had zero patients for it. Reading my phone it already seven. I explained to my mother while Fiona offer was tempting I was going stay behind and wait for Camila who promised to meet at five and it's now seven.

Karin who was going argue that wasn't a good idea was shut up by Fiona who all but dragged him to her blue Porsche which was also occupied by Axial.

"This is basically kidnapping!" My overly dramatic best friend shouts still being pulled by his hood of his coat and shoved in Fiona's passenger side.

Waving them off I head back inside which the time read eight now. Which each passing hour the more concern I was having.

That was until the room door opens revealing a distressed Camila.

"Where have you been?" Was the first question I could think of not even waiting for the blonde to fully catch her breath.

"Give me a second." Camila says bracing herself up on the door frame.

"What happened to you?" I asked troubled considering I been waiting awhile for her.

Finally catching her breathe Camila explains to me how she saw her father and mother talking with Jason near the reception.

"My father made eye contact with me and I didn't want him to like rope me up into whatever so I ran as fast as my little feet could take me." Camila states smiling in victory like she just won first place.

"What is up with you guys and your parents?" I couldn't help but blurt out causing Camila to look at me with shock evident on her face.

"Evelyn, I love you but you wouldn't understand. You have parents that accept and love you unconditionally." Camila says the last sentence with sadness.

Feeling like a jerk I reach over and grab her hand intertwining my fingers with her own. At this gesture Camila genuinely smiles causing her sad blue eyes to light up some.

"I'm sorry. Your right I don't know what it's like to have parents that don't accept a part of me, but I want you to know that I accept you and all your faults." I say giving her hand a reassure squeeze which in return she leans giving me a kiss.

Kissing her was like second nature at this point even though I couldn't help Karin's words seeping in the back of mind causing Camila to stop kissing me.

"What's wrong?" Camila ask looking at me worryingly.

I didn't want to fed into all the stress Camila was under so I tell her it's nothing to which she doesn't believe even for an instance.

"Evelyn, I know you better than you know yourself. Your hiding something from me just spit it out. I am tired of all the tip toeing with you." Camila sighs exhausted emotionally.

Biting my lip out of nervousness, Camila gives my hand an encouraging squeeze as I say, "Someone told me your notorious for breaking hearts."

"You told me yourself that you believed in me changing. I never said I loved you to anyone but you and yet your over here believing I haven't changed." Camila shouts her grey eyes darkening with anger.

"Camila I didn't say that- all I said was someone told me you didn't stay with your boyfriends or girlfriends for very long." I try to explain which only made it sound worse. I currently just wanted to dig myself a hole and stay in it.

"That was before you. Your different. I love you so much that it hurts me to see you acting close with anyone else including Axial and Fiona."  Camila voices her voice trembling and she now had water filled eyes. Well , shit.

Feeling terrible I try to console her only for her to jerk away from me.

"Don't. I think I would like to be alone for now." Camila spats coddling herself with both her arms wrapped her body.

"Camila-" I beg only for her to push me out the door and lock it.

Well one thing was for sure I needed to make a choice soon or I might end up loosing Camila for good.
————-
Kicking my own self for how things went with Camila I approach the reception area to get better service to make a call.

Dialing in the number I hear phone ring off the hook once, twice.. it continued on until I was about hang up on them when I hear a Hello on the other side of the line.

"Can you come get me?" I managed to get out warm tears trickling down my face.

Not even asking me what's wrong the person reassured me they were on their way and hangs up. All that was left to do was wait.

I take a seat near the front entrance waiting for my ride.  I wanted to be left alone but the universe had other plans with me.

"You okay?" A tall guy with curly chest nut colored hair asks already sitting down next to me.

Wiping tears out of my eyes I blink finally taking in the guy's appearance. It was freaking Matt Pierce. Literally the last person I wanted to be left alone with if he was anything like his brother.

Quickly trying to get up I end up falling face first.

"You're just unstable aren't you?" Matt tries to break the ice chuckling which only makes me send him a glare in return.

"No, that would be your brother." I couldn't help the words that quickly escaped my mouth.

Retracting his hand he offered me to help me up he shoves them back in black jacket pocket.

"Listen, you don't know him or me so back off." Matt hisses his nice guy persona was completely gone and in replace was this rude person.

Managing to get up on my own I take a seat where I normally was sitting before this dude approached me.

I bite my lip trying to stop myself from adding fuel to the fire that was Matt Pierce. What I really wanted to say was your brother is a psychopath who tried to carve up all my friends like pumpkins on Halloween night.

Instead I just give him a tight lip smile and hoping he would just vanish into oblivion from my eye sight.

Eyeing me like he was debating on adding anything else to his latest comment he rolls his eyes deciding I wasn't worth the hassle. Good because he wasn't worth the oxygen he was breathing.

He started to walk away from me when a little girl voice telling him to stop puts him dead in his tracks.

Damn. Here I was hoping I finally get some peace waiting for my ride to show up.

"Matt!"  The little girl shouts his name causing him to look down at her small frame. She had chestnut colored hair that match his own and unlike his stone colored eyes hers were a forest green.

"Not now Reagan." Matt sights frustrated with the little eight year old girl who had the cutest pout in her face.

"Yes now. Mom already said you had to give Evelyn a ride home." Reagan says sternly matching her older brother's glare.

"What?" Both Matt and I ask echoing each other.

The eight year old blinks at both of us and says what she told us earlier again.

"Maverick overhead you ask your best friend for a ride, so she called me to ask you if you would take her instead." The innocently sweet eight year old states.

"You are related?" I gesture to Matt who had a bored expression on his face.

"He's my big brother." Reagan proudly states. Kid if I was you I wouldn't be bragging that this guy was your brother I was thinking in my head.

"I think I'll wait for Karin." I say crossing my arms slightly shuddering of the idea of being in a close space with Matt.

"I promised Maverick. I don't break my promises." Reagan says pouting. Don't fall for the cute pout.

"Fine." Matt sighs caving in to his little sister. Well look at that the tin can man had a heart. It's tiny but there just like his brain.

I was about to open my mouth to tell him there was a no chance in hell I was going go anywhere with him when Reagan looks up at me with her puppy dog eyes causing me to cave in and agree. I wondered if my sister was just as wrapped around her little finger like we were.

"Lead the way." I reply with a tight smile. I would rather fall into a pit of snakes than go anywhere with this dude, but when you had a little girl looking at you the way Reagan was you agree to almost anything.
——-

"On second thought I refuse." I say changing my mind at the last minute. For starters this idiot had a motorcycle that didn't even look like it could even hold one person let alone two.  I only ever got on Axial bike and that was only because it was Axial.

"Don't be a baby, even Reagan rides with me." Matt bluffs out shoving an helmet at me to put on.

His brown curly hair was mostly tucked in by his own biker helmet. Well at least if he was going kill me he do it obeying safety laws.

"I only ride with you around the block Matt." The eight year old pipes up from her phone which she been so engrossed in.

"What are you even still doing here?" Matt asks frustrated causing me to whack him in his arm for being rude to his precious little sister.

"Maverick and her parents wanted me to make sure their daughter gets safely home." Reagan says oddly maturely.

"If they want me get safely home, maybe they should've came retrieve me." I mumble to myself only for Matt to send me an eye roll.

"Evelyn can you kneel down for a second?" Reagan requested. She looked cute in her little black winter coat and panda bear gloves.

"Sure." I say not being able fuse the eight year old who reminded me a lot of my own sister.

Reagan takes the helmet from my hands and puts it on my hand and buckles the straps underneath.

"There now your safe. Love you brother!" Reagan pats my helmet and blows her brother a kiss before going back inside the lodge.  Was this little girl really eight she seemed mature beyond her years?

Matt who already had the bike running for probably twenty minutes now looked like he was debating leaving me in the snow.  Surprisingly he pats the seat behind him signaling for me to hop on. I mean what were my options at this point?

Sighing, I hop on back of his bike which felt familiar to Axial's. With her I would wrap my arms around her waist and hold tightly with this guy I didn't even want to touch him.

Realizing I didn't want to touch him Matt grabs both my arms and wraps it around his waste. To my surprise his body wasn't super tone nor was it chubby. It was a good medium. Not that I was paying any attention unlike a certain someone I know would.

The whole bike ride I was plotting different revenge ways I could do to Karin.

"Okay, hop off." Matt commands already ready to be rid of me.

"Thanks for the ride." I say surprising not only himself but me to.

"Don't mention it." Matt mumbled already backing out of my drive way.

Karin, my old best friend was sitting on the front porch reading a novel.

Before he even got a chance to say any thing to me I take the book out of his hand and jug it off the porch.

"That'a rude! Here I thought you was a John Green fan!" Karin shouts already on his feet to save his precious book.

"You left me high and dry at the lodge." I say with disdain perching up on the porch railing with my right hand resting on my face.

"Oh no, you left me high and dry with the two psychos." Karin states waving a finger at me.

"What?" I ask completely dumbfounded on to what he was going on about.

"Dear lord, Axial and Fiona. I thought those two were going kill each other in the car. Your lucky I am still alive." Karin dramatically states.

Rolling my eyes I didn't feel like listening to my best friend excuses of to why he didn't come rescue me.

"Wait! Wasn't you having some alone time with Camila anyways?" Karin yells after me only for me to flip him off not in mood to talk to him or anyone for that matter.

I enter my house to be welcomed with the alluring scent of ramen. That meant dad was in kitchen cooking like he usually did. Not wanting to be asked a billion questions and not wanting talk I try to sneak my way up stairs only to be halted by mini me.

"Eve!" The eight year old wastes not time in tackling me in a hug and blowing my cover.

"Evelyn? Your home excellent. Please help me set up for dinner." My father asks chasing me to sigh before latching myself off Maverick.

Getting out the dishes and utensils I sit them at the dinning table.

"Don't forget to add one more." My father says which leaves me confused.

"Are we having someone over?" I ask when the front door opens revealing the answer to my question.
