"Asshole! Asshole!" The parrot in my shoulder chirped again towards Anartis.
After being body slammed into the fountain and looking up to see me in a clown outfit with a parrot flying next to me, Anartis was too stunned to speak.
Two second later he grabbed my hand and teleported me to some unknown area which was, well, unknown.
I had no idea whatsoever what this place was but Anartis simply kept dragging me along with him while the parrot chanted the list of curses I had taught it over the night while making my dress.
"Bullshit bastard! Motherfucker!" The parrot continued but Anartis simply ignored its existence as he led me down a flight of stairs and into a...
Arena...?
It was an empty arena with no audience but a bunch of scary looking people dressed in armor were waiting at the bottom.
"Your grace. Where are we- Argh!" Anartis sudden yanked me towards him and wrapped his arm around me and his leaped over the railing.
'This crazy bastard!' "This crazy bastard!" The parrot repeated my exact thoughts a moment after and we fell into the arena and surprising didn't die.
Anartis landed on the floor as he let me down while all the individuals in armor turned to us. Oh, we're fucked.
Or so I thought until moments after they began charging towards us and Anartis opened a disk shaped magic circle.
Within seconds, they ended up being slaughter and sliced to the point that their bodies were just puddles of blood splattered on the floor with no bones or anything.
My eyes widened at the sight as terror rushed in, Anartis eyes turned to me and though I felt his gaze, I couldn't bring myself to face him.
This, was what this man could... It was terrifying. Magic was terrifying.
He... Was terrifying...
-----
We slowly trudged back up the flight of stairs while I kept my head hung low, even the parrot had also fell silent now.
'Good... That should be enough to get her to whim the duke into breaking the engagement off.' Anartis glanced at me once more before turning back to the path forward.
'I would've done it myself... If it wasn't because of that old man.' Anartis's gaze hardened further at the thought of the chairman of the magic tower.
Anartis indeed did have the most power and authority in the magic tower as its master, and right below him, was Chairman Egulef.
He was a deceitful old man whose greed for power and money could never be quenched even if he had been given rivers of gold.
Upon over hearing the proposal Avis brought to Anartis to marry his adoptive sister, Egulef rejoiced.
Anartis reluctantly agreed due to Avis and Egulef's relentless nagging after deluding himself into thinking that she couldn't be that bad.
But it was clear now that he was sorely mistaken, despite that, he wasn't oblivious to his circumstances.
There were rules that the master of the magic tower were had to follow.
And one of which was that he'd have to get formal permission from the board to divorce a lady or break his engagement off.
Given Egulef's greed. It was clear getting permission would be near impossible since he was the head of the board as well.
Meaning he wouldn't be able to break the engagement now.
'So I'll simply have to scare her into doing so herself.' Anartis concluded, and given my reaction, he thought that he had succeeded.
And was once again...
Sorely mistaken.
As soon as we were both out of the dark underground place. I was back to pestering him and acting like a love struck puppy while the parrot only continued to insult him the whole way.
"Your grace! Let's go there!" Anartis snapped out of his gaze turning his attention to the direction you were pointing in.
"... You do have some unique taste, my lady." It was a cheesy couple boat with a heart on the river with cherry blossom illusions around it which they claimed were real.
Even though it was clearly not.
'... Maybe I should push her off the boat...' And with that in mind, Anartis agreed to board the boat with you.
"Asshole!" The parrot chirped as we sat down on the boat, grabbing my skirt and began yanking on it.
I stood up and stepped away to see what it wanted just as Anartis attempted to shove me into water.
He tumbled off and fell off the boat instead.
"Dumbass." The parrot chirped.
We left the boat with a soaked Anartis. Who was now tinted pink since the water was turned pink with magic to create a more romantic scene.
We decided to just walk around the markets and watch the scenery after that. Though the whispers and gasps of the people weren't left unheard.
"Is that the Grand Duke...?"
"I heard he got engaged to the mad fake daughter of Duke Divinus..."
"Heavens! I couldn't imagine being in that position!"
"No wonder he looks like that."
"I couldn't bring myself to walk around with someone dressed like that..."
'I can hear all of you!' We both thought symmetrically.
'It's not like I want to do this either, it's low key embarrassing.' But living is more important, and for that, I have to break this engagement off! Indirectly.
If only I knew then... That this was Anartis's exact goal as well...
"My lady, what do you think of that?" Anartis suddenly spoke up, pointing at an... Horror, Mirror house...?
Well, whatever it was. I had no reason to deny it. I had the outfit for it.
"Oh, how thoughtful, my grace! I'd love too!" I squealed as I grabbed myself around his arm, it felt disgusting.
Either way, he shuddered in disgust and we entered in the house.
It was a mirror house, and a horror house. It was basically an abandoned house with mirrors popping out of here and there every second.
"HAHAHAHAHA! GIVE ME YOUR BLOOD- AHHHH! WHAT THE FUCKKKK?!"
A clown suddenly popped out of nowhere with its tongue sticking out, knife in hand, deformed eyes with pupils going in different directions, and blood.
But it then screamed again upon seeing me. And even fell out of the box, tumbled over some fog extracting magic tools and passed out.
"What? Why'd he fall over like that after seeing me?" I turned to Anartis while tilting my head slightly.
"... I wonder why..." Anartis responded after a moment over staring at me before turning his haze back to the path ahead of us and we proceeded.
But the witches that came up next had a similar reaction and fell of their brooms, they fortunately had a vest on under their cloaks so they didn't fall.
Though they were flying around upside down while screeching for a pretty long while after that. We just left them there and proceeded on our way out.
'Why is this going so wrong...?' Anartis questioned as the vampire accidentally stepped on its cape after seeing me and summersaulted down the slanted floor.
Anartis had planned to kill one or two people in this horror house to scare me off. But at this point, I was being the horror...
"So... Do we just slide down or what?" I questioned gazing down at the slanted floor, it was a genuine question this time but Anartis only sighed.
"Let's... Let's just go back..." Anartis responded holding his head in exhaustion as I let out a silent cheer of success in my mind.
"Okay!" I turned back to the direction we had just came from only for Anartis to yank me back as a light flashed around us.
And just like that, we were back at the Divinus estate in a second.
What's more is that when I turned back to Anartis, he just disappeared the next second without a word!
Well, all I could hope right now was that he had left due to the shock of having such a horrible experience today.
And was now on his way to break off the engagement with me! Of course, that was too good to be true.
In reality, Anartis was currently back in the magic tower plotting on how to get me to break off the engagement.
'Should I lock her in a room with insects? No, that's too extreme.' Anartis clicked his tongue in frustration as he snapped his fingers.
Poof, a book and a pen appeared, his clothes and hair had also changed in an instant.
"Hm... She didn't seem much affected by the blood. Perhaps she's used to it from when she was a commoner." Anartis assumed, life as a commoner couldn't have been blood-free.
-----
"But honestly, what was the point of killing all those armed people like that? Almost made me break my act." I grumbled under my breath while drying my hair.
-----
"And that parrot also pulled her away as I wa about to push her into the river. But could it have really been a coincidence?" Anartis wondered thinking back to the event.
-----
"I wonder why he dived into the river like that though." I questioned as the parrot suddenly began chirping again. "Anartis, dumbass."
-----
"She ended up scaring the staff of the horror house as well. I couldn't do much there." Anartis let out a long exhausted sigh.
-----
"Ah fuck! I forgot to do my cackle!" I face palmed while the parrot laughed repeating the phrase I had taught it last night.
"Dumbass!"
-----
"... I can't think of anything to scare her off..."Anartis grumbled slamming his head on the desk in frustration.
To be continued...
I am so mad at myself, this took way too long.
