You were not sure how much time had passed before you heard familiar voices outside the ship. You recognized it as Crosshair and Hunter arguing, something pretty ordinary.

Subconsciously, you gripped your lightsaber tightly and used the walls of the ship to support your weight. You wanted to believe that your squad would not turn on you, but you had no idea the extent of what happened.

Suddenly it got quiet, Hunter had probably noticed the small trail of blood going into the ship. You decided it would be best just to confront them, so you carefully walked to the entrance of the ship, still leaning against the wall for support.

Immediately upon seeing you, Crosshair raised his gun and pointed it directly at you.

"Crosshair! Don't!" Hunter shouted, reaching for the barrel of his gun. You gripped your lightsaber tighter and ignited it, allowing the green light to surround you and protect you.

"Good soldiers...follow orders..." Crosshair said gripping his head in one hand painfully but not letting go of his gun.

Tech, Wrecker and Echo stood behind Hunter and Crosshair, unsure of what to do. "She's our friend," Hunter said, still trying to convince Crosshair to lower his weapon.

You leaned heavily on the wall of the ship, your energy fading as blood trickled to the ground. You held your saber up protectively, but it was getting harder and harder to hold. You stayed quiet, not knowing what to say or who to trust.

Crosshair finally lowered his gun and cradled his head again. Hunter took the gun and handed it to Echo to hold, just in case Crosshair got any more bad ideas.

Hunter held his hands up in the universal sign of surrender as he approached you slowly. "You're hurt," he said, noticing the pool of blood forming on the floor.

You raised your saber up again to warn him to stay back, "Clones did this..." you whispered, the pain of talking becoming too much, "they killed Master Billaba..." you continued in the same whisper of disbelief, "I imagine they killed Caleb..."

"Not all clones," Hunter responded, "let me help you."

Hunter reached for you but still kept a comfortable distance. You pulled back for a moment, every instinct in your body told you to run away from him, run away from your squad. But when you felt his presence, it made you feel better, more comfortable, and you yearned for his familiar company.

You slowly lowered your saber and turned it off. You nodded at him before losing your strength and slipping from the wall. Hunter was at your side in an instant, he caught you before you could hit the ground and carefully lowered you to the floor.

"Tech," Hunter called, "get some medical supplies, quickly!"

You saw the shape of someone running past and then all you could focus on was Hunter's face directly in front of yours, "Hold on, general," he whispered, still cradling your head so you were not on the floor, "Hold on, (Y/N)."

Sometime later you woke up on a hard mattress with several bandages over your body. You sat up a little, but winced in pain. "I would not do that," a voice came from the corner. Tech walked into view, still typing on his datapad. "According to my assessment, you had several bullet wounds, a few of which were still in your body and a broken rib, although the cause of which is unclear," Tech explained.

"Had several wounds?" you asked curiously.

"Correct, I patched you up the best I could," Tech explained matter-of-factly.

"Thank you," you said trying to sit up again.

Tech finally glanced up from his datapad, "I would not sit up, your rib is not fully healed yet."

You chuckled even though it hurt, "Yea, I supposed Master Billaba packs quite the punch," you whispered, the memory of her sacrifice hurt so you pushed it out of your mind.

"Master Billaba inflicted this injury?" Tech asked curiously.

"She saved me," you whispered, "she used the last of her strength to push me away from fight, I must have hit the ground too hard."

"Ah, that makes sense," Tech said, turning his attention to the datapad.

"Tech, why are you letting her sit up?" came a new voice from the entrance to the room. You recognized it as Hunter's even before he burst into the room.

He held your shoulders and carefully lowered you back onto the mattress, "rest, I promise you are safe."

You smiled at him, "I know, thank you for saving me, but I want to move around."

"After Tech clears you, you can get up, until then rest," Hunter explained.

You chuckled at him but then gripped your side in pain and coughed. "Since when can you give me orders?" you managed to get out between coughs.

"Since our general is injured, I technically call the shots," he chuckled, handing you a canteen of water which you gratefully took.

"Where are we headed?" you asked, handing him the canteen back.

He sighed, "we have to return to Kamino and find out what is going on."

Your eyes opened wide in surprise, "I cannot go to Kamino, those people betrayed us, we should make for Coruscant, the Jedi will know what is happening."

Tech and Hunter shared a glance before Tech turned and walked out of the room, Hunter looked back at you like he had no idea what to say.

"(Y/N), I don't know how to tell you this, but what happened on Kaller, happened everywhere," he began, "The clones turned on their Jedi, the order has fallen, I don't know of any Jedi who are still living. The Chancellor has reorganized the Republic into an empire and named himself the Ruler. The world you once knew no longer exists."

Tears stung the edges of your eyes as Hunter recounted the terrible events of the past few days. You closed your eyes and reached into the force again, trying to connect with anyone you could, but all you felt was the pain and tragedy reflected everywhere. It became too much, so you closed yourself off from it, before opening your eyes and seeing Hunter again.

You took a deep breath, now that you closed yourself off from the force you felt freer, more in control, but there was an empty feeling in the pit of your stomach that you couldn't shake. You focused on Hunter again, he lifted up his hand to wipe the tear from your cheek, "I am really sorry," he whispered comfortingly.

You leaned your cheek into his hand for a moment, soaking in the comforting presence of your friend, "I just had hoped for so long that my vision would not come true, but it has," you paused trying to hold in your tears, "but it is so much worse that I imagined."

Hunter allowed you to lean into him for a while, watching you fight back the emotions that built up in your head. The world you knew, everything you knew, was gone now. It was so much to process that you just wanted to go back to the dark bliss of injured sleep. But Hunter was in front of you, Hunter your most trusted friend, the one you knew you could count on and he would never let you go back to the darkness.

You finally looked up at him, "what do I do now?"

Hunter looked surprised, "well I assumed you would come with us."

You looked at him gratefully, "Hunter, I appreciate that, but if what you say is true, I am a wanted person, everyone will be hunting me, I could not ask you all to go on the run with me."

He looked at you definitely, "you are our general, we would go on the run for the rest of our lives if you asked us to."

You smiled, "I know that, that is why I could never ask."

He shook his head, "you have to stay with us, we will protect you, I promise."

"Even if you could, I can not be seen on Kamino," you explained.

His defiance faded and only care and concern was reflected on his face, "We have a way to conceal you while we figure out what is going on, then we leave this place and go out on our own."

You chuckle, "you seem to have given this a great deal of thought."

He smiled, a pale pink appearing on his cheeks, "we are all in agreement, we discussed the possibility while you were still unconscious."

You smiled at him and paused for a moment before responding. You knew that going with them put them all in potential danger, but you also knew you were in no shape to be going anywhere alone. Perhaps later you could sneak away, let them live a normal life away from the war, but for now you wanted to accept their help, you wanted to be with them longer. You nodded, "alright, now fill me in on the details."
