You woke early and made your way to one of the meditation rooms and sat down on the padded bench. "Dim lights," you said to the automated system. The lights dimmed lower and you closed your eyes, listening to the comforting city sounds around the temple.

You reached into the force and allowed your mind to take over, casting you through the galaxy in your own head. Faded images, colors and sounds surrounded you, until one image caught your attention and you focused in on it.

You could see a rocky snowy landscape with sounds of bullets and the gentle hum of a lightsaber. You focused harder and sharpened the image. It was a battlefield, countless battle droids laid destroyed on the ground as the silhouette of jedi and clones continued breaking through the ranks of the sepratist army. This had to be the end of the war, the force was showing you the end of the fighting every jedi desperately wanted.

You smiled, this had to be a sign. But suddenly the landscape grew dark and the silhouettes shifted. The jedi was laying on the ground surrounded by blaster fire, but their clone protectors were no longer in sight. You ran to the rescue of the fallen jedi, only to see your own face reflected in the black silhouette.

You gasped and you were pulled back to reality, breathing heavily and trying to process the information. "Lights up," you commanded the automated system, still trying to catch your breath.

As the lights came back on, you noticed the small shape of master yoda in the corner of the room. "Good morning, Master Yoda," you said, running a hand through your hair, wiping the sweat away. You tried to mask your surprise and worry from your vision, but Master Yoda had already picked up on it.

"Troubling you, something is," he said matter-of-factly, "sense it, I did."

You motioned to the padded seat next you and waited for him to take a seat before recounting your vision to him. "I am unsure what it means, master," you confided after you had finished describing it to him.

"Foresee the end of the war, you did," he explained, "but still remains, mystery does."

"You don't seem surprised," you questioned.

"See the same thing, I have," Yoda admitted, "know how you feel, I do."

You moved to the edge of the cushion and leaned your elbows on your knees to slow your heart rate before standing and turning to the green master, "I should be going, master, I have a meeting with my squad to debrief our last mission."

"After that, new mission we have for you," Yoda said, "to the high counsel chambers, bring your squad."

"Master, bring my squad?" you asked.

"Special, this mission is, talk to you all, we shall," he explained getting off his seat and walking out of the door with you.

You bowed to the master before turning away. "General (Y/N)," Yoda called.

You turned around, "yes master?"

"Speak of your vision, you should not," he warned, "until we know more, a secret it should be."

You nodded, "as you wish, master." You turned back around and headed towards the cafeteria. Once inside you picked up some fruit and a water glass before quickly heading outside the temple, to the place you always met your squad to debrief.

You arrived at the small garden that rarely anyone visited and saw that your squad was already waiting for you. You walked up to them and tossed them each a piece of fruit before taking a seat across from them, leaning on a stone wall.

"Morning, general," Crosshair said, taking a bite out of his apple, "you're late."

"Apologies, I was in a conference with Master Yoda," you explained, "actually, we have a new mission that we are supposed to meet the counsel for later today."

"When will you need to be up there? When should we get ready? Where are we going?" Tech asked, rattling off more questions as he typed away on his datapad.

"Relax, Tech," Wrecker said, bumping him on the shoulder a little too hard, "the general will inform us of the mission on the way, like usual."

"Actually, they requested you to report to the counsel chambers with me," you explained.

They all looked at you dumbfounded, "us? In the jedi counsel chambers?" Echo finally asked breaking the silence.

"Yes," you responded, "and before you ask, no I do not know why, Master Yoda only said it was a special mission that we should all know about, whatever that means."

Tech began frantically typing away on his datapad before speaking up, "it is as I expected, there are no republic records of a clone trooper ever being asked to go to the chambers."

"Well you guys are not a typical squad, perhaps they finally realized your value," you said hopefully.

"Or, they want to decommission us personally," Crosshair said sarcastically.

"Come on, Crosshair," Wrecker pouted, "why do you always have to be such a downer."

"Let's just forget about that right now," Hunter finally spoke up, "we should debrief the last mission and worry about the jedi counsel later."

"I agree," you responded, "we can go together after midday."

You then spent the next several hours debriefing your previous mission on Felucia while Tech created audio recording to be used in the archives. You all had it a little more difficult, as the kaminoans requested your battle reports as well, for research on defective clones. Therefore, there was a lot more information you had to include, including medical information, field results and strategy and vital readings during battle scenarios.

The sun was at its peak in the sky when you wrapped up the report and were ready to head inside. You all swung through the mess hall to grab a quick bite to eat before making your way to the jedi counsel chambers.

You lead the way through the halls, stopping outside the main entrance, "remember to be civil and use the mannerisms I taught you, it would be best to only speak when spoken to," you warned them.

"Since when have you ever been one for mannerisms and protocol?" Hunter asked.

"Since I am taking my extremely experimental force in front of the most powerful and influential group of Jedi in the galaxy," you explained.

"We'll behave," they all said in unison.

You nodded in thanks, took a deep breath and opened the doors to the chambers. You walked in with your head high and the clones followed behind you gracefully and at attention. "Good afternoon masters, might I present to you Clone Force 99," you said, gesturing to them. "This is Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Tech and Echo," you introduced, gesturing to each one of them who provided a slight bow in return after you said their names.

"Thank you for the introduction," Master Windu said, "we have an important mission for your squad."

"Danger on Kaller, there is," Yoda explained, "reinforce master Bilaba and her padawan, you will."

You nodded, "with all due respect masters, that is a pretty typical mission, why is it such a secret?"

"There is a weapon hidden inside the enemy base on Kaller," Master Windu explained, "you will officially be reinforcing master Bilaba, but secretly you will be acquiring this weapon and delivering it back here."

"What is the weapon?" Hunter interrupted suspiciously.

You shot him a look to be quiet and he only shook his head and continued, "if we are supposed to recover it, we have to know what it is and what it is capable of."

You quickly stepped in front of Hunter, drawing the attention of the masters before they could answer him, "I am inclined to agree with Commander Hunter on this one, although I do not agree with the way it was brought up."

"Agree with you, we do," master Yoda said, "the reason called to this meeting you were, tell you of the weapon, we will."

Master Windu raised his hand and the lights to the room dimmed, allowing a hologram to surface. It was a square like hilt, not unlike a lightsaber. "This weapon is called the darksaber, it is an ancient weapon designed in the temple generations ago," Master Windu explained as the hologram shifted to reveal the full image of the saber. "Years ago it was stolen by a group of Mandalorian warriors and used against our kind in the old wars, now it was stolen by the separatists, we are unsure how they got a hold of the weapon, but we have confirmed that it is on Kaller."

"Why is a lightsaber considered a secret?" Hunter asked, his tone unchanging.

"According to my research on the ways of the Mandalorians, the darksaber was originally created by their kind," Tech explained, pulling out his datapad again, "eventually the jedi stole the weapon because of the threat it posed, and then it was stolen back."

"The weapon was created with our technology," Master Mundi chirped in, "it was our property."

"Tech meant no disrespect master Mundi," you interjected motioning for Tech to put his datapad away, "he was merely posing the history."

Windu finally interrupted again, "the darksaber is not a secret, it has been well documented in the archives, however, the fewer people that know we have it, the better."

"Understood, master," you said bowing your head, "we will reinforce Master Bilaba and recover the weapon."

"Fail, you cannot," Master Yoda warned, "careful, should you be, unknown the future is."

You nodded respectfully and locked eyes with Master Yoda, ensuring to him that you had understood his warning about your vision.

The batch walked out of the counsel chambers and you trailed behind them, once you had gotten a safe distance from the room, you grabbed Hunter's shoulder and spun him around. "Hunter, what was that?" you asked.

"I was only ensuring the success of your mission," he explained, "and you agreed with me."

"I would have brought it up in a more respectful way," you said, allowing your voice to become more understanding.

"I know," Hunter admitted, "but I have always had my doubts about the jedi, I feel like they are hiding something, and learning they have more secrets only makes the feeling worse."

"Have you ever doubted me?" you asked. Hunter had never divulged his feelings about the jedi before.

"At first, yes," he admitted, "but I grew to trust you and realized you treated us as equals, they still treat us differently."

You let go of his shoulder, "then trust me when I tell you to trust the counsel, they may not be as progressive or subtle, but they mean well."

Hunter nodded and you looked at the rest of the squad, "all of you, grab everything you need and grab a few extra ration packs, we will likely be on Kaller some time with limited access to supplies. Meet me on the landing platform at our ship and we will depart immediately."

The batch turned and walked back to their barracks to prepare and you turned to walk back to your quarters to change and prepare for the mission. Right as you turned down the hallways where your quarters where a familiar voice called your name, "(Y/N)!"

It was Obi-Wan and he looked flustered and out of breath. "Master Kenobi, did you run here?" you asked him, amusement in his voice.

Obi-Wan took a moment to catch his breath, "well I originally ran to the landing platform, but realized you were not there, so I was hoping to catch you here."

"I am just returning to grab what I need and then we will be departing, what can I help you with?" you asked.

Obi-Wan looked around nervously for a moment, "perhaps, somewhere more private."

You looked at him confused for a moment, but then gestured for him to follow you into your room. Once inside you closed the door and turned to Obi-Wan, "please don't mind me packing my things while we talk," you said moving around your room and throwing a few things into your crate.

"I had a vision this morning, one that concerns me greatly," Obi-Wan began. He then recounted a very similar vision to yours and when he finished you dropped your things in shock.

"Obi-Wan, I had the exact same vision this morning, except with myself, Master Yoda said that I foresaw an end to the conflict, but it would unleash something far worse," you explained.

"(Y/N), I have been given the assignment of tracking General Grievous down on the planet Utapau, I believe that if I can defeat him, it will end the war," Obi-Wan continued, "but I fear that ending the war, will only bring about whatever is worse."

You sat next to Obi-Wan, "whatever happens, we have to at least try to end the war, then whatever comes after, we will have to deal with it when it comes."

He nodded to you, "you have grown to be a wise and faithful Jedi, (Y/N), it has been a privilege being your friend."

You smiled at him, "why do I feel this is the beginning of a goodbye?"

"One can never be too sure when times are like this," he said sadly.

You reflected his sad smile, "especially now, I suppose. It has been a privilege to be your friend, Obi-Wan, I am grateful for your friendship and your counsel."

He smiled and got up, walking to the door of your room, "may the force be with you (Y/N)."

You nodded as he walked out the door, "may the force be with you, friend, always, I hope to see you again soon."
