Yes I know it has been a very long time-I hope my writing has improved-I've been cringing reading over my older chapters. Picture above is my newest drawing of KC, and for those of you who have made it this far I thank you! Don't worry this story is almost over.
Blueprint's POV
We all sat in silence as Ink explained what the Antis had done to him, and what KC did to free him. I opened my mouth to console him but soon his eyes widened with terror. Dream stood at attention in the same moment. "Something has happened..." he whispered, "something bad." Pallet and I exchanged concerned glances, especially considering Ink was in no condition to check it out. "Dream," Pallet stepped up to one of our caretakers, "I will go with you and Blue. Ink needs to stay here and rest. The two healthy official Stars looked at each other with hesitance, clearly not wanting to put my brother in danger. This was serious though, and not something we could just ignore; especially not as the protectors of the Multiverse. "I'm coming too," I announced as I stepped forward as well, knowing they needed all the help they could get.
Dream sighed but agreed, well aware that it was necessary. "Braz, stay here with Ink and make sure he rests. Error, come with us too, we may need you." Error rolled his eyes. "YoU tHinK I'm GoIng to lEaVe Ink aLone AgaIn aFTeR wHat hAppEneD foR sOmE duMb AU? YoU muSt be OuT of YOur MiNd." Dream frowned at Error's attitude, I could tell he was annoyed with his disregard for the lives of others. We couldn't turn on each other now-because if we don't have our allies, we have nothing. "Hey, guys c'mon," Pallet tried to break the tension in the room, "There's no time for this." Despite the efforts, the glitchy skeleton seemed to have no intention of cooperating, his eye sockets once again focused on Ink. "What would Ink want?" I pointed out, "he would want as many people to be protected as possible."
Error let out a huff, knowing he couldn't deny it. "FinE. We'Ll ChEck QuIck, tHAt's iT." Pallet and I nodded as he stood, saying a farewell to Ink, and shooting us each a small glare. We tried not to hold that against him though, after all, his partner had just been kidnapped and tortured. We departed after Brazy gave us the go-ahead that he and Ink would be okay. He really did inherit his caretaking abilities from both his "parents". Dream took us to the AU he felt the deplete in happiness from, and the second we entered, there was only silence. No cars, no conversation, nothing. Lights flickered in the almost pitch blackness of the night, but the one thing that stuck out, was the sight of blood. So, so much blood. Error went forward, a deep look of thought in his expression. "TheY'vE beEn HerE." Dream covered his mouth in shock; this had clearly been a violent end.
"First KC and now this..." Dream muttered in distraught, "when would they even have time to do something like this while keeping her contained...?" "K-Code would fight...right Dream..? She...she wouldn't let this happen would she?" I asked, wanting Dream to confirm that my fears were all unnecessary. "Of course!" He exclaimed, though even he didn't sound sure. Blue and Pallet had already started to search for survivors, while Error looked for clues to maybe help us find the Antis. "There's no one..." Blue sighed after we regrouped. "ThaT's nOt tHe WorSt tHInG," Error cut in, "I kNow Each Of tHeIr fiGhtiNg styLes. ThErE arE no TRacEs of tHem AnywHerE." I realized that, from what little I've seen of the Antis in action, he was right. There were no remnant of bones, no knives, and none of nightmare's goop. It was as if some creature had just come out of nowhere and destroyed anything in its path.
"We need to figure out what they're planning. We need to know what happened here," Dream commanded, determination in his eyes. We nodded and Error called something else to our attention. The anti void. It was still an absolute mess, but something about it was different. There were new prints, and one of Ink's chains the had been ripped apart. "It looks like it's missing a link," Blue thought aloud. This was so strange. "Do you think they came here to get some of Ink's magic? To...track him or something?" Pallet asked, looking around for answers. Dream, Blue, nor Error knew if it was of any significance, but neither of them thought it was possible. "TheY wOulDn't sToOp to ThaT leVeL-tHey'Re toO suRe Of tHeMselvES." Error looked around where he'd once called home, shaking his head. "PeRhaPs thEy'rE mAkIng A wEapoN to CombAt uS..." Dream and Blue definitely didn't like the sound of that.
"Let's just go see what they want-" Blue began, he was clearly as distressed as the rest of us. "Maybe we can find what they're after and use it against them to finally get them to stop hurting people!" Dream shut his eye sockets with a small sigh. "Believe me, Blue, I've tried..." Pallet and I knew he and Nightmare were brothers by now, but I couldn't imagine what I feels like having to battle your brother to protect others. I glanced to Pallet, who looked off in the distance, appearing deep in thought. "Why...why do you think they wanted her...?" He suddenly asked, as if thinking out loud. We all turned to look at him, all with questioning expressions. I was the first to speak, "What do you mean Pallet?" "It's strange," he turned toward us with thoughtful eyes, "Is it just to keep her there? Is it to hold something above our heads? Or do you think...they wanted her to join them..?"
We stared at him for an uncomfortably long moment. The silence buzzed too loudly through the air around us. "N-no. No way," I said, backing up slightly. "She would never-" Dream reached out to me but I shook his hand off. "KC would never. Hurt anyone." I felt my eyes water, the only thoughts running through my head was of how he could have the audacity to say something like that. We'd both grown up with her-how could he think she was capable of what we'd just walked through. "You heard what Ink said," Pallet cut in with a sigh, "she agreed to stay with them for him to be returned home safely. She's doing this...for us...whether we agree with it or not." My throat tightened as my vision became more and more blurry. I couldn't believe this-I couldn't believe that she would do anything like this-even though deep down I knew he was right. The only sound I could hear was my own breath and the quickened beat of my soul thumping against my rib cage. I could only think one thing in that instance. We have to get her back.
