Billie's POV

Bode and I hadn't got much sleep last night after everything that has happened and The Well Lady was playing hard on our minds. We then smelt our favourite smell wafting up the stairs.

Twins" Bacon!"

We rush downstairs and find Kinsey cooking and not mum.

Tyler" Since when do you cook?"

Kinsey" Since today, I got an amazing night's sleep, I woke up at, like, five raring to go, and this is the result"

Mum who had been leaning on the counter gets up.

Mum" Smells delicious"

Bode and I sit at the table,the bacon smelling soooo good.

Bode" Oh, bacon me, please"

Billie" Me tooo!"

Kinsey fills our plates with bacon and I tuck in, man I love bacon.

Mum" Does this mean you picked a drawing for the application? That's fantastic, I can take it to the post office tomorrow"

Kinsey yanks the paper off mum.

Kinsey" I got it, Mum"

Mum" Well, I really don't mind"

Kinsey" I need to get it there by Tuesday and this kind of organisational stuff isn't really your thing"

Mum" Oh, I didn't realize that"

Kinsey" Dad took care of these things because you were always busy with your art and fixing up houses. That's what you're great at, you don't have to try and do everything. It's cool"

Mum looks offended, there was something wrong with Kinsey, she looks happier, more herself which isn't a bad thing it's just what happened, what changed.

Mum" Right, sure, Okay"

Twins" Bye, Mom"

Once mum is out of ear shot Tyler leans over the table to her.

Tyler" What was that?"

Kinsey" What was what?"

Tyler" Your attitude towards mum?"

Kinsey" What attitude? I was just being honest"

Tyler" So, instead of being passive aggressive like always, you woke up this morning and thought, "I'm just going to be straight up aggressive"?"

Kinsey" I'm not being aggressive"

Tyler" You're not being normal"

Bode" Hey! No fighting in front of the bacon"

Bode pulls it away and I use this opportunity to take some more from the plate.

Bode and I spend most of the school day thinking about ways we can stop Well Lady from entering our home. So far she can only enter via The Anywhere Key. As we headed down the driveway we see Rufus sweeping our porch.

Bode" Afternoon, soldier"

Rufus" Afternoon, How'd those traps work out for you? You catch the enemy?"

Twins" Negative"

Rufus" That's too bad"

Billie" Hey, Rufus? Has your mum ever mentioned anybody named Lucas?"

Rufus" Sure, yeah"

Bode"Really? Who is he?"

Rufus" He was her first love"

Bode" Oh"

Billie" Where is he now?"

Rufus" He He died, she still gets sad about him sometimes"

Bode" What do you know about the well house?"

Rufus" My mum won't let me go near there,bad stuff happened here. The British used Key House as a base during the Revolutionary War and they would hang defectors in the well house"

Billie" Whoa"

After Rufus told us about The Well House we headed upstairs, we had got a history of Mattheson and opened it up.

"Key House is one of the oldest remaining structures in Matheson.
Used as an intelligence base in World War II.

Bode, Billie,you two can't protect them"

Bode slams the book down in fright.

Bode" Did you see her too?"

Billie" Yeah, what was she doing in there?"

Bode" We need to do something about this and fast"

We then hear shuffling and the sound of Tyler's voice. We then see him searching Kinsey's drawer, he is looking for the key.

Billie" She keeps it in her sock drawer, the key"

Tyler" Don't say anything, both of you?Understood?"

Billie" What's in it for us?"

We go back to our room and sit on the bed.

Tyler" What the?"

Tyler has discovered the bubble gum both of us have put in the keyholes.

Bode" It's to stop the well lady from coming in"

Tyler" Did she come back?"

Billie" No, not exactly but you won't believe us until you see her yourself"

Tyler is now holding the head key.

Tyler" Okay, so Kinsey took her fear out of her head"

Twins" Whoa"

Tyler" And I was thinking if she can take something out.."

He inserts the key into his head like Kinsey and I did and he goes limp. Then in front of us appears the front door in Seattle. Bode is thinking the same thing he just says it out loud.

Bode" Whoa, it's the front door of our house in Seattle"

Tyler" Maybe I can put something in"

He holds in his hands, the book on Mathewson history Bode and I were looking at earlier.

Bode" Hold on, let me see the book"

Billie" Bode, what, oh yeah"

I realise he is taking the wellhouse photo out of the book, the last thing we need is for the well lady to have access to Tyler's head.

Tyler as always says nothing to our weird behaviour. Probably for the best. Bode hands the book back to our brother, he then chucks the book through the door but nothing happens.

Billie" Was something supposed to happen?"

Tyler" Ask me something about Matheson"

Billie"When was Matheson founded?"

Tyler" Matheson was settled in 1639, incorporated in 1658, and officially became a township in 1741"

Tyler" Was that right?"

Billie" I don't know"

Bode" You took the book"

Tyler" Do we have anything on England?"

Bode and I were in our room, he was playing his switch and I was leaning in watching him. Since I couldn't find mine we were sharing. He finishes a round on Mario Kart before handing it to me. The hallway then sounds with a loud crash then another one, then another one.

Billie" Maybe it's the wind"

Bode" Or it's the well lady, grab the sticks"

I hop off the bed and take the sticks we had brought in from the garden. We then hear Kinsey. Bode, Billie? - Is that you?

As we enter into the upstairs hallway more doors slam and the lights start flickering. We meet up with our brother and sister in the hall.

Kinsey" What's going on?"

Billie" It's her"

Tyler" What?"

Bode" The Well Lady! She's back!"

Kinsey" Where'd you get that?"

She points to the sticks that we have a tight grip on.

Twins" The yard"

Bode" To defend ourselves"

The sound of doors slamming is heard again.

Kinsey" What does she want?"

Twins" The keys"

I didn't like this, she could come out from anywhere, the fire alarm goes off.

Kinsey" Mum's downstairs"

Both Tyler and Kinsey rush downstairs, we hurry to follow them but get grabbed by The Well Lady.

Well Lady" You thought you two could stop me? With Dubble Bubble and a tree branch?" Give me what I want"

Twins" Never!"

Well Lady" Fine"

She grabs us both by one arm and let me say, it hurts. She drags us to the closet with us screaming.

Billie" No, Tyler"

Both of us get pulled outside and she shoves us on the floor, she then draws a circle of fire around us.

Well Lady"Give me the Head Key"

Bode" Why do you want it so bad?"

Well Lady" I need it to find something"

I stand next to Bode, the incredibly strong feeling of heat brushing against my face.

Billie" So why haven't you just taken it from us?"

She grips us both by our jacket collars.

Well Lady" I'm done playing games! Give me the key"

I then exchange glances with Bode and we smirk.

Billie" You can't take it from us, can you?"

Bode" You need us to give it to you!"

She leans in close to our faces.

Well Lady" You two think you're so clever.Well, I can be clever, too. Stay tuned Bode,Billie"

She strides out of the circle and heads to the well house, she disappears to some other location. Tyler comes running towards us as fast as humanely possible. He takes both of us in his arms.

Tyler" Are you okay?"

Twins" Yeah"

Billie" Very warm on my face though"

Tyler pulls us both into a hug.

Tyler" Okay, let's go inside"

So Bode and Billie encounter The Well Lady again, Tyler uses the head key to impress Jackie and Kinsey gains a new personality from somewhere.
