We had only been in the club for about ten minutes, but that's all it took for Mandy to get shit faced drunk.

I cringed as I saw her having too much fun with the guy she said owned the club.

I turned back and stared at the club with my ice water in my hand.

It was a really nice club, the design of it was very futuristic. The walls were all white and there were bright neon lights that illuminated the place.

I took another sip of my water, I'm not a drinker at all. Mix in my shit childhood with the fact that I'm a lightweight, drinking doesn't bode well with me.

My attention shifted from my half full cup to the man who appeared next to me.

He coughed so I would turn to face him, but it was unexpected that I jumped up slightly, putting my cup down as I clutched my heart.

"Oh sorry I didn't mean to bother you," He let out a nervous laugh. "Its just that I was wondering what a pretty lady like you is doing here sitting alone."

I stared at his face blankly, not knowing how to respond to his lame pickup line.

He clearly was very shy, he kept playing with his fingers and failing to make eye contact.

I looked away from him, silently hoping that he'd go away. He was a very cute man, but I don't mingle with strangers. You never know what anyone could be planning in the back of their mind. But though I couldn't order, I did check out the menu.

While he kept babbling about how he never did this sort of thing, I took the time to look him over. He was a very boyish looking guy, his hair was slightly curly and a rouge strand had fallen over his forehead. He had thin lips, and dear god his jawline, I would need to stop sipping my water and start chugging.

"So... what do you say?" he asked.

I snapped out of my trance, mentally slapping myself for practically drooling over this guy.

"Say to what?" I responded back quietly.

He chuckled and a blush started to creep up his face. He brought his hand up to scratch the back of his neck. "If I could dance with you."

"Oh!" I exclaimed. Oh. He wants to dance with me? He. Wants. To. Dance. With. Me.

Now it was my turn to blush, I turned my head to see if Mandy was alright, and I saw her checking him out too.

I felt conflicted, I bit my lower lip as I mulled the idea over.

"I'm sorry, but I'm just not in the mood to dance."

His expression fell, "Oh, sorry for bothering you then... enjoy your night ms..?"

I felt somewhat guilty about rejecting him that I almost blurted out my name.

"Uh, Dylan. But you can call me Kacey." I told him while lying straight through my teeth, to which he smiled in response.

"Well, Kacey, I'm Allen. Would you mind if I stayed here to talk with you? If my accent couldn't give it away It's my first time in New York and I really don't have many friends." He laughed.

"Where are you from? I can't tell by your accent." I questioned, trying to be nice and make small talk.

"Was born in Quebec, but I was raised in Senegal." He smiled.

He clearly enjoyed talking about himself and so I let him speak for a while.

"-My father actually tried to build a shed for me and my brothers to play in but it collapsed on us almost immediately." He shook his head while laughing. "Funniest part was watching our mother beat my dad with her shoe and then running over to help us."

I let out a small giggle in response.

"What about you Kacey? Got any childhood stories you wouldn't mind telling me about?" He questioned.

My face paled, how did we get to this so fast?

"Uh? Oh um my family? Well-" I was interrupted by the dj blasting the music. Drowning out my voice almost immediately.

He leaned in closer to me, causing my immediate recoiling, but that didn't stop him from getting closer. Red flags waved infront of my eyes, as I grew more uncomfortable.

"How about we go outside so I don't keep yelling in your ear and invading your personal space?" He yelled in my ear, pulling away slightly but maintaining eye contact.

I glanced back at Mandy and she was too busy exchanging saliva with the club owner to pay attention to me.

Returning my gaze back to him, I bit my lip and mulled it over, "I don't think so..." His face fell slightly before he picked it back up. "Sorry..."

"Aw, come on Kacey..." He baited, "It's just so stuffy here." He pulled at the collar of his shirt.

My heart started thundering against my chest, "Why do you want me to leave with you so badly?" I narrowed my eyes at him, as I took a tiny sip of water. My face scrunched as a salty taste came across my tongue.

"Don't worry about it." He lent me his hand, and I shoved it to the side. "Kacey..." He started.

"No, I'm sorry Allen." I told him, taking my last swig of water, blinking slightly as fatigue started washing over me. Throwing two dollars on the bar top, I got up and off my seat to get Mandy, I didn't want to stay out here anymore.

But as I was getting up, I felt a tight grip on my wrist. My eyes widened, and I turned to face him. His calm face was far gone, replaced with a look of anger. "Just a little stroll, I promise I'm not here to kill you."

Oh boy.

"Let go of me." I demanded, not listening to him. "Now."

He pulled me towards him, causing me to bump into the bar stools and hurdling towards his chest. He moved his grip on my one arm to both of them, his nails digging slightly into my own flesh. "Aren't you feeling a bit tired?" He asked, his voice surprisingly calming.

"Not even a bit." I spat, blinking more aggressively to keep the feeling locked down.

He chuckled, "Here let me take you home."

My limps started to loosen, and I felt control leave my body. "No." I tried saying confidently, but the ending drawled out as I was slowly etching closer towards sleep.

He wrapped his bony fingers around my waist, pulling me up with him as I struggled weakly against him. He opened the door for me and we stepped out in the chilly world.

He had his hand on my back as he starting walking to the side of the club, with each step we got farther and farther away from people. I started walking slower, causing him to slow down as I tried to turn to go back to the club. But he kept tugging me forward.

"Hey..." he whispered gently. "I'm not gonna kill you" he said chuckling. "Just to take you home..."

"You... dickwipe." I said, my head falling back as my legs got tangled with each other. "Let me go."

The world was still in its cruel haze around me, I pushed myself up with as much energy I could exert, causing him to trip on the rough concrete in the alley. He jumped back up, his grip now tighter than ever.

"Learn how to walk." He sneered.

"Learn to take no for an answer." I spat back with the same amount of venom.

His eyes clouded over in pure malice, a dark look I had come to know. He stopped walking, instead he yanked me towards the outside brick wall. My world was turning darker and darker, that I couldn't even prepare to brace myself before I hit the wall. I started to sink lower, as my legs became useless. He stepped infront of me, preventing me from dropping to the floor as he pulled my weak state towards him

"Ah, you women really are clueless." He spat, and his grip around my waist growing tighter and more constricting with each passing second, I struggled against him but my mind and body wouldn't comprehend it. "And you were drinking water, you really couldn't taste it, huh? But what else to expect, you're clearly not that bright."

I was quickly losing the ability to move my body, and he could tell as my struggling was dying down. And then he moved in closer.

"And now," he whispered, trailing one bony finger down my cheeks and all the way to my legs. Then he grabbed a chunk of my hair, yanking it down. "I get to have my fun with you."

"No the fuck you don't." a voice yelled from behind us. And before my brain could realize it, I was dropped on to the pavement. The impact caused ache to spread through my bottom, and I just winced, but I forced my eyes to open. I managed to slightly open the heavy lids as I saw Mandy beating the living shit out of Allen.

In her hands she was gripping onto a broken beer bottle, and in her eyes were the fiercest look of anger. Images of my father resurfaced, meanwhile Allen was sporting a cut on his head, with gashes that were bleeding profusely. And in that moment I couldn't tell if it was the drugs but I saw the same blinking green lights. But just as the last time it had happened, the light vanished. The only thing left to see was Allen falling down to his knees, bleeding out on the concrete.

My stomach quenched, and I closed my eyes, letting the darkness entrap me into its clutches.

Guess this night didn't go as planned.
