Alright guys. This is the last chapter :)

Don't kill me.

MERCURYS POV.
A FEW DAYS LATER.

Getting back from Italy was definitely interesting.

Penelope and Gio refused to let Angelo and I go back to the apartment.

  Well, it was mostly Penny.

I don't think Gio actually cared.

But he was scared of his wife, so he took her side.

Since we got back, she made us stay at their new house.

It looked nothing like it did the last time I saw it.

They must have had one hell of a crew.

I didn't mind it at all. It felt nice to be around people I actually enjoyed after so long.

Father dearest, however, loathed the situation.

Was it funny? Yes.

But something was different about him today.

"Get dressed!" He yelled as he walked past my room.

Slowly, I got up and stood in the door way.

"Where am I going exactly?" I asked, eyeing him cautiously.

"Out."

"Out where?" I pushed.

He shrugged. "I figured we go to the nearest cemetery. Dig up some people. See what we find."

I tried my hardest not to laugh.

"But grave robbing is best in the spring. Amateur."

He shook his head. "You're right. Rookie move. Get dressed." He ordered again before disappearing.

I knew I really had no other choice.

My stomach was almost completely healed and I was off antibiotics.

I knew it would leave scars.

But I guess I have to get used it.

I threw on some jeans and a sweater.

New York in the fall had a uniform, and this was it.

  It's damn near freezing out.

"Where are you guys running off to?" Gino asked as I walked downstairs.

He said he didn't want to miss out on anything fun, so he's been here for as long as we have.

  Not that I was complaining.

"Apparently going to go rob graves." I shrugged.

   "Bring me back something!"

I was about to respond when there was a loud honk outside.

"Apparently I have to go now. See ya!" I yelled as I walked outside.

Right out front was Angelo in his car, clearly wanting me to hurry the hell up.

"Are you going to tell me what the hell this is about?" I asked as he pulled out. "Because I'm not wearing grave robbing shoes. These are flats, and that's a boot kind of job."

"I mean, I guess we could still do that."

"I'll take that as a no then."

"You'll see when we get there."

I've always hated waiting.

The drive itself was not long. Maybe twenty minutes.

Which is enough for me to complain at least twice.

"Are we leaving the state or something?"

"God I wish." He sighed.

"You want to leave New York?"

"Only during the cold seasons."

"So, you only want to be for July?"

"That would be ideal."

"You're literally the worst New Yorker I've ever met."

"Yeah yeah. Look out the window."

We were pulling into a very woodsy, secluded area.

In just a few moments, there were small glimpses of a house.

A huge house.

It Looks like a castle and a half.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Just keep looking." He dismissed.

The closer we got, the more I could make out what it looked like.

It was made up of faded brick, with huge windows covering the old stone. Green ivy stretched across the building, making it look very old, yet very alluring.

The front of it was mostly covered from my view because of the large tree that was in the middle of the drive way.

Some huge ass houses have fountains in the front. I guess this one decided it was too mainstream.

I didn't even notice that we had pulled up to it, I was far too transfixed.

  "What do you think?"

"I-it's-," I didn't have words.

"Amazing, beautiful, good looking?" My sentence was finished.

"I don't know if those words are even strong enough."

"Noted." He got out of his side.

I quickly followed his actions as he rounded to my side and leaned against it, clearly admiring the house as much as I was.

"What's this all about?" I asked as I shut the door.

"Well, after a long, long, never ending, time consuming,-,"

"You could have stopped after never ending." I laughed.

"-Life draining, over dramatic, over complicated conversation with your grandmother, she convinced me that maybe, just maybe, the city life was not the most functional life for a child like yourself."

Does that mean- no.

"Are you saying you bought this place?"

   "Sure did."

This is unbelievable.

"You mean to tell me that you didn't buy a bachelor pad penthouse apartment?"

"I would've, but I was threatened in multiple ways."

  I still couldn't believe it.

"You bought a mansion in the suburbs?!"

"Sweetheart I'm starting to think you and Gino have the same IQ."

"I'm not done yet- This is your place?!"

"Technically, this is our place." He motioned between the both of us.

This has to be a fever dream of some sort.

"It's perfect. It's too perfect." I eyed it like it was the sketchiest thing I've ever seen.

   "How the hell-,"

"Have you ever seen something like this before? It's too nice, I'm telling you."

"Oh my god. You're right. There's a dead man standing at the front door!"

"Haha funny." I shoved him with a smile on my face.

"I'm surprised you haven't asked if we could go inside yet." He quickly recovered.

"The roof will cave in. It's too perfect. I'm telling you." I warned again.

"Alright, alright fine. Why don't we go inside, and if the roof caves in, I'll tell everyone who asks that you were right and I was wrong?"

   "Deal."

Walking in, I could tell that this was the most beautiful house I had ever seen.

    "Woah." I gasped.

It looked very modern from what I had seen outside.

  I turned to Angelo.

"Where's the kitchen?"

"That's actually the reason this place jumped out at me." He explained as he led me through what looked like Eden.

Finally, we walked into my favorite room ever.

  "Oh my god." I whispered.

It was my dream kitchen.

Huge counters, two ovens, and the entire area was open.

The large ass stove stood in the middle of it all, with areas above it to hang kitchenware.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was an actual restaurant.

  "What do you think?"

"That the roof is about to cave in." I gasped in awe.

My eyes, however, settled on the area in front of the kitchen.

Two doors opened up to what looked like a sun room.

I don't think I've ever been so excited to go inside of a room anyone else would find boring.

Ripping open the doors, I thrusted myself in the middle of it.

Luckily, it was sunny out, so I could get the full feel of it all.

"Think about the basil I could grow here!" I yelled to whoever was listening.

I could see Angelo lean against the door frame.

"Should I lock you in here or something?" He asked.

I laughed pretty hard at that.

"Come on Pops, like a doors ever stopped me before."

Alright guys :(

This is the end!

Hahah like I would leave it like this. That would be too easy :)

I don't know exactly when, but The Girl at His Door is getting a part two.

It'll be sooner rather than later, I promise!

Stay safe and wash your hands!
