Judy: What?
Y/N: You really are your mother's child.
Judy: Well, I had to get my good looks from somewhere.
Y/N: Ooh, that hurts.
The two laughed together as they continued to walk.
Y/N: So you said you've been acting as a superhero for about a year. Tell me, what is the craziest or strangest villain you've had to face?
Judy: Ooh, that's a tough one. Um. Oh, we faced this one guy who could control shadows with a magic cane. We called him the Shade. There is also this mad scientist who made a set of armor to control elements. Naturally, we call him Doctor Elemental.
Y/N: Wow. That's quite the impressive rogues gallery.
Judy: Yeah, but I mean, there's nothing quite like your old foes. Deathstorm, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, Dr. Light. Those guys are tough to beat in terms of iconic villains.
Y/N: Yeah, but they were tough to beat in terms of physical strength. But hey, nothing the Flash family can't handle, right?
Judy: You betcha.
The two looked out over the river, finishing their desserts.
Judy: I really wish that I could do the things you can do, Dad.
Y/N: What do you mean?
Judy: I mean wind vortexes, running on water, advanced phasing. I just wish that I could do all those incredible things you do.
Y/N: It took me a long time to master those abilities. Heck, I'm still learning some new tricks. You'll get there one day. It's all just a matter of time. You can't rush these things.
Just looked over at her father. His face may be nearly twenty years younger than what she was used to seeing, but it still looked and felt like him. She showed a gentle smile looking at her hero.
Judy: Thanks, Dad.
Y/N nodded back. He looked out over the clear water of the river. The stars shined brightly above. Y/N turned to his daughter and went back to what she had said.
Y/N: So, wait, you've never run on water before?
Judy: No. I just haven't gotten to that point yet.
Y/N: Would you like to learn how to?
Judy's eyes went wide with excitement. She turned to Y/N, her mouth hanging open in a shocked expression.
Judy: Really?
Y/N: Yeah. I mean, I can teach you. Would you like to give it a try?
Judy: Yes! Oh my gosh, yes!
Y/N beamed at her excitement. Judy put her empty dessert cup down while Y/N walked over to her. He helped to position her into a running stance, getting her to crouch down in the preferred form. He demonstrated the movements using his own arms and legs, showing her how to do it.
Y/N: Alright. You'll need to be going at least 650 miles an hour. That is the slowest you can go. But remember, whatever speed you go at, maintain that speed. Do not slow down until you're back on land.
Judy: Okay. But how do I stop myself from falling in? Won't the water pull me down?
Y/N: Don't think of it as fighting back the water. Think of it as running on an open road. Treat it the same way you would treat a highway. Don't focus on where your feet are planted. Focus on where you're going.
Judy: Alright.
Y/N: You ready?
Judy: Ready.
Y/N: Okay.
Y/N backed up and allowed her to focus on the water ahead. She did what he said, trying to stop herself from overthinking it. The brown haired girl's eyes crackled with purple electricity. She then shot off. Y/N watched her soar down the water's edge.
Then, with one step at a time and a leap of faith, Judy stepped out on top of the water's surface. She ran across the river to the other side, running on top of the water. Y/N gasped and had a wide grin on his face. Judy hollered with excitement.
A streak of purple lightning raced across the water's edge. It then came back and stopped in front of Y/N. Judy took a shallow breath and smiled at her father.
Judy: What did you think of that? How'd I do?
Y/N looked at her in amazement. He walked over to his little girl and wrapped his arms around her body. He held her tight in a loving hug.
Y/N: I didn't think I could be more proud of anything in my life.
Judy smiled with a red blush. She held onto her father. The fast girl let her face sink into his shoulder.
After running on the water and coming back to the apartment, the three family members all sat around the table to eat dinner. They all sat in awkward silence, eating their meal. After what felt like an eternity of silence, Y/N looked around and broke it.
Y/N: Well, um, this awkward.
The other two girls smiled and nodded in agreement.
Judy: Right? I mean, what do we even talk about? I can't really discuss much without spoiling the future and you guys can't really talk to me about my daily life since I technically haven't even been born yet.
Caitlin: What about the past? Is there anything future us haven't told you that you'd like to know about us? Our history or things going on at this time?
Judy thought for a moment. There was one thing she wanted to ask. She had a smile on her lips as she swallowed her food before asking the question.
Judy: What were your guys' first words to each other?
Y/N: Our first words?
Judy: Yeah. I mean, I know how you guys met from the lightning strike, you guys going on the run, your fight with Eiling, and even your battle with Grodd. But what did you guys first say upon meeting each other? When Dad first woke up from his coma, what did you say?
Caitlin: Oh. That's difficult. We said a lot of things to one another, trying to pass through a very difficult-
Y/N: She admired my abs and asked me to pee in a cup for her.
Judy nearly choked as she tried to stifle a laugh. Caitlin slapped Y/N on the arm with her fiance shrugging.
Y/N: Well it's true! I'm not lying!
Judy couldn't contain it anymore and burst out laughing. The other two soon joined her, unable to control their own laughter at the memory.
Caitlin: In fairness, our first kiss was also when your father was trying to subdue my, at the time, criminal alter ego while she was trying to kill him.
Y/N: Yeah, we've never really had the most romantic of moments. But we make it work. Right, Dr. Snow?
Caitlin looked at him. She gave a smirk and lifted her head up high.
Caitlin: Right... papa.
Y/N winced at her getting him back with the nickname. Judy was trying to control herself from having another laughing fit. For the rest of the evening, the family of three all talked about old stories from the past and made new memories that would carry them into the future.
