"Well, that was a long ride..." (Y/n) commented, stretching her back as she got out of the car. Ed and Lorraine got out of the car as well, already approaching the retired Father Kastner.

'Could've waited for me...'

"Father Kastner." Ed called, as he took off his glasses and smiled at him, as well as Lorraine, gently smiling at him. (Y/n) quickly walked up to the three as Father Kastner slowly looked up at them after feeding his chickens.

"I didn't hear the car drive in." Father Kastner said as he stared at the trio. "Would either of you care for an omelet?" He asked as he motioned for the eggs that he held.

"We had breakfast before we left home." Ed laughed. "I'm Ed Warren, this is my wife Lorraine, and this is our partner (Y/n) (L/n)." Ed said as he extended his hand for the Father to shake.

"I have chicken shit on my hands." (Y/n) snorted and coughed into her fist to cover her laughter.

The Father left to sit on his front porch, the Warrens and (L/n) following in suit, softly chuckling at the situation that happened.

Father Kastner, Ed and Lorraine sat down while (Y/n) stood with crossed arms and leaning on the wall of the house.

(Y/n) handed the Father the folder that held the picture of the curse inside. The Father opened it and looked at it.

"Forget you ever saw this."

"What?" (Y/n) commented.

"You've seen it before?" Lorraine asked politely.

"No.But I've seen ones like it. This is sophisticated. It's a very nasty piece of work." Father Kastner explained.

"But why?" (Y/n) asked.

"David, the little boy who was possessed, he didn't do anything wrong. Why would someone target this family?" Ed added.

"Why? The 'Why' is irrelevant." The Father spat. "The 'Why' is counter to everything that the Satanist stands for. His sole aim is chaos. His nectar is despair."

"But someone had to put it under their house. So, what does this tell you about the person who made it?" Lorraine asked.

The Father paused. "Come with me."

"Great, why does everything have to be in the basement?" (Y/n) commented as the trio waited on the stairs for Father Kastner to unlock the basement door.

"I don't want to go down there." Lorraine said, frightened.

"What is this?" Ed asked as the Father unlocked the door.

Father Kestner looked up at them. "It's the reason you're here." He opened the door and turned on the lights. Ed went behind the Father as (Y/n) passed Lorraine gently patting her shoulder in comfort and followed Ed in suit.

Father Kestner put down his hat and went inside, nodding towards the trio to go inside.

"I collected these while I was studying the Disciples of the Ram." The trio went inside. Ed went in with no problem, but Lorraine and (Y/n) stayed cautious. (Y/n) immediately felt like someone was watching her, not Ed not Lorraine, her.

"You should burn all of this." Lorraine said as she looked around.

"I've thought of it. But I felt it was safer to keep them locked. I like taking guns off the street." Father Kastner spoke.

'He's got a point...' (Y/n) thought as she looked at the Warrens, knowing that they do the same thing.

"I don't suppose you have all these books organised using the Dewey Demical System, do you?" Ed asked as he motioned the cursed objects with his cane.

"No. No. No, I do not. " Father Kastner laughed. "The clues you seek could be anywhere. Or, they... Or, they may not be here at all."

(Y/n) went and grabbed what looked like a very old book. Lorraine noticed and gently put her hand on (Y/n)'s wrist. "(Y/n), don't..."

(Y/n) gently nodded and put the book back. Lorraine kept looking around, but still stood close to the other female. (Y/n) was sharply looking around, still feeling the uneasy feeling like someone was staring at her. The hairs at the back of her neck stood as she felt the staring get more intense. She clenched her fist and narrowed her brows, looking around more sharply. Lorraine noticed her distress and calmly placed her hand on the females shoulder. (Y/n) sharply turned her head towards her, and sighed when she saw her. (Y/n) gently patted Lorraine's hand, signalling her that she was alright.

Lorraine let go of (Y/n) shoulder, and immediately felt someone's haterade towards her, like they didn't want her touching (Y/n) at all.

"I studied these people for nine years. They worshipped Satan and his demons with blood sacrifice. They defiled holy land with their obscene rituals, and they committed acts of blasphemy... which I shall never speak of. But... these acts gave them power. The trial of the Disciples, the lead prosecutor, his wife was pregnant. A few days after the Disciples were all found guilty, his baby was born six weeks early, with its heart outside of its body." Father Kastner explained as he motioned to his left side of his chest.

"Three months later, his wife committed suicide by laying her neck on a railroad track. A master Satanist is not an adversary to be taken lightly."

Ed, Lorraine and (Y/n) approached Kastner.

"We know the dangers, better than you might think." Lorraine added.

"This boy, who's headed to the death chamber... is saving him worth everything you have? Because that's what it may very well cost."

"UGH, This will take forever to find!" (Y/n) groaned and slammed her face against the kitchen table.

"For a thirty-year-old woman, you sure do whine a lot." Ed laughed.

"HEY!" (Y/n) yelled at him, her head still on the table.

"Look at what the Perron family sent." Lorraine said, as she put a vase of flowers on the kitchen counter. "This is what the little ones sent you, (Y/n)."

"Oh." (Y/n) said as Lorraine gave her something soft. She looked at it and it was a soft teddy bear with a note attached to it.

' Thank you, Ms. (Y/n)! We saved you enough money to buy you a teddy bear! Please take care of him!

 - Sandria, Nancy, Cindy, Christine and April Perron '

"Aww...." (Y/n) said as she gently placed the small bear on the table.

"That's sweet of them." Ed added.

The house phone rang.

"I got it!" (Y/n) exclaimed. "(Y/n), let me-" Lorraine protested, but (Y/n) already got to the phone.

"Yellow?"

"(Y/n)!" Drew exclaimed. "We've got a bite! I just got off the phone with a homicide detective in Danvers, he wants to talk to you guys. He says he's seen it."

Danvers, Massachusetts

"Katie Lincoln and Jessica Strong went missing about four months ago." The detective said as he handed a picture of the girls to Lorraine." They were best friends in high school. Katie's body was found near here, stabbed 22 times. We still haven't found Jessica. But when we searched her home back in May... We found this." He said as he handed the trio pictures of the Witch's totem.

"So, you're the experts. What can you tell me about this?"

"Not much. Only that if this totem works the same way as the one in Brookfield, it's possible that your missing girl was possessed." (Y/n) explained as she looked at the detective.

"Look, I've read all about what you tree think happened in Brookfield. But I'm only interested in leads that are grounded in reality."

"Good. So are we." (Y/n) added.

"We were actually hoping there might be something in this case file that might help prove Arne's story." Ed said.

"No, no, no. I brought you here to help me, not the other way around. Now, we've been looking for a link to some sort of satanic cult ever since we found that thing. And these devil-worshippers, they're just people. Crazy, evil people, but, people."

"Maybe we could help each other. We need to see your case file... and you need to find the missing girl. So, give us a chance." Lorraine suggested.

"To do what exactly?"

"To find Jessica."

"We've been combing through these forests for over three months now, Mrs. Warren."

"I can se things that your people can't."

---------------

The detective came back to the meeting room with three bags in hand.

"One of these is the knife used on Katie Lincoln. The others I just pulled from the evidence locker." The detective said as he put all three knives in front of Lorraine.

"And what? You want her to pick out the murder weapon?" Ed angrily exclaimed.

"Mmm-hmm. I'll take you out there, but first I want to see what she can do."

"Absolutely not! My wife's gift is not a sideshow attraction!" Ed angrily exclaimed.

"If she is what you say she is, then this shouldn't be a problem, Mr. Warren, right?"

"You know what?! For get thi-!" (Y/n) yelled.

"It's this one." Lorraine cut in as she pushed the knife that was on the left side.

(Y/n) could see threw the glass that some of the police officers betted on this.

---------------

The Warrens, (Y/n) and the detective were in the detective's car driving towards the crime scene. (Y/n) and Ed sat in the back while the detective and Lorraine sat in the front. Also 'Suspicious minds' was playing on the radio.

"It was one-in-three chance." The detective added. Ed and (Y/n) chuckled in the back.

"This song's appropriate. You know me and (Y/n) actually met Elvis once." Lorraine said as she looked out the window.

"Oh yeah?"

"Mmm-hmm."

"Was that before or after he died?" The detective laughed.

"Before... and after."

"What about your friend? Does she have a gift like you? Did she meet him after he died?"

"No, but he couldn't stop staring at her before and after he died." Lorraine laughed.

"Why is this the first time I'm finding this out?" (Y/n) exclaimed. Ed and Lorraine softly chuckled at her reaction.

After that silence hung in the air.

"You missed a turn. The spot where you found Katie's body , it was back that way." Lorraine said as she motioned behind her.

--------------

"You sure you should be tromping through the woods like this?" The detective asked Ed and motioned for his cane.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Ed said as he, the detective and (Y/n) all walked behind Lorraine as she inspected the area.

"Then what are you worried about? Afraid she won't be able to do it?"

"No. We're afraid that she will." (Y/n) answered.

The three of them stopped when Lorraine did.

"Ed, (Y/n), something terrible happened here." Lorraine shakily said. The three behind her noticed her kneel down. For a few seconds she just kneeled down, but then she slowly lifted her head and looked around, she quickly snapped her head to the left as if she heard something.

Slowly she started turning her head to the right and stared at a tree. (Y/n) lifted one of her brows in question and stared at the woman in front of her. "Lorra-"

Lorraine suddenly stood up and started running towards her left. The three followed her, (Y/n) at the front, the detective in the middle and Ed at the far back.

Lorraine stopped and did motions with her hand, (Y/n) and the detective stared as Ed caught up to the three.

Suddenly Lorraine reached up in front of her grabbed something and yanked it back towards her. She thrusted her hand that was holding something in front of her again and started to shake like she couldn't hold her balance.

She dropped herself on her knees and started to stab thin air.

"Okey. Thats enough." Ed said as he walked up to her. "Hon, that's enough. That's enough! Come on!" He said as he grabbed Lorraine's wrist that was doing the stab motion.

Lorraine started to breath heavily and stood up. Ed let go of her as she backed up.

"Katie? Katie? Oh my God. What did I do?" Lorraine mumbled frantically looked around and suddenly started running.

"Lorraine, no!" (Y/n) yelled and ran after her.

"Lorraine!" Ed yelled, (Y/n) noticed this and looked behind her and saw him running as well.

"ED, NO, YOU STAY BACK!" She yelled.

(Y/n) kept following Lorraine as Ed stayed back to catch his breath. Lorraine kept making turns until she arrived on a cliff. (Y/n) yelled her name snapping the woman out of it, letting her see what she was bout to do.

"Lorraine..." (Y/n) called, Lorraine turned to her, fear plastered on her face.

"(Y/n)..." Lorraine shakily called.

Something grabbed Lorraine by the ankle, dropping her to the ground and started pulling her towards the ledge. She screamed as she tried to grab on to something.

"NO!" (Y/n) yelled and bolted towards Lorraine, she grabbed her hand just in time. (Y/n) leaned over the edge, holding on to Lorraine.

"I GOT YOU!" (Y/n) yelled as she started pulling Lorraine up. She pulled her up, with Lorraine holding on to the rocks, up the edge and on the ground. (Y/n) pulled the two away from the edge, where it's safe.

Lorraine cried as she clung to the woman that held her.

(Y/n) looked towards the woods and saw both the detective and Ed run towards them.

"Lorraine! (Y/n)!" Ed yelled. He dropped to his knees and hugged the two women.

"She's down there. (Y/n), Ed, she's down there." Lorraine cried as she buried her head on (Y/n)'s shoulder.

"Blood pressure's a little high." The paramedic said. "I'm gonna give you a vasodilator. It's a pill, you're gonna put it under your tongue. It'll open up your blood vessels." She handed him a pill as he sat in the ambulance car.

"Yeah, I have those. I left them at home." Ed said.

"You what?" (Y/n) exclaimed. Ed turned and saw both (Y/n) and his wife glaring at him.

"Yeah, well, I wouldn't do that anymore if I were you." The paramedic commented. Ed put his pill under his tongue and looked down in shame.

"Mind giving us a minute?" The detective asked the paramedic, she nodded, grabbed her bag and left.

"Recovery team found a body."

"Is it--"

"We're not sure. Look, I know what it looks like. But, I don't want any of this getting out until we have a positive ID from the corner. You know, we dragged this basin. Twice. Had to pull teeth to get it done a third time. We never would've done it if it weren't for you."

"I'm just glad we could help." Lorraine smiled.

"Let me know where you're staying. And I'll get that case file for you in the morning."

--------------

The trio was in their room at the Bruneau Motel when the phone rang. (Y/n) answered the phone.

"Hello."

"Oh, my God, I've been leaving messages all day!" Debbie yelled.

"What's wrong?"

"It's Arne. It followed him! You said this was over, but now he's trapped in there with this thing and it's telling him to kill himself!"

"Debbie! Just calm down and listen to me. I need you to call the prison chaplain, um..." (Y/n) as she snapped her fingers trying to remember his name.

"Father Newman." Lorraine said.

"Father Newman. Tell him that Arne needs to be put on a 24-hour suicide watch. He's got--" A high pitch scream echoed in the phone, cutting their communication.

"What is this thing?" (Y/n) sighed.
