The group finally stopped on top of a hill, and they could see a giant body of water in front of them.

"That's the Sea of Storms," Pinkie told everyone.

"Very well, miss," Major Mint said. "Captain Candy and I will build a boat for all eleven of us. The rest of you go and find supplies."

"Follow me," the Nutcracker said, and led the girls to a deserted wasteland not far from the Sea of Storms.

"This place is trippy," Rainbow Dash said.

"Can't argue about that," Rarity agreed as Twilight tripped on a rock and fell to the ground.

"Why am I always the one who gets into these messes?" she moaned as she stood up, pushing her glasses up her nose and brushing dust off her skirt.

"The well used to be over there," the Nutcracker pointed in the distance, walking to where he was going. He moved a pile of rocks away to reveal a metal circle cooking in the sun.

"There it is," he said. "Someone must've capped it."

"Please tell me there's no fairies in that," Rainbow Dash said as the Nutcracker pried open the well, hundreds of little fairies flying out. "I stand corrected."

A tiny little fairy flew to the Nutcracker's wooden ear.

"You're welcome," he told the fairy before turning to the human girls. "The Mouse King's army destroyed this valley and trapped the flower fairies in the well."

The tiny fairy whistled and squeaked at the other fairies, and they circled around the girls for a moment, mostly around Clara.

"What?" she asked the fairies.

"They say you're beautiful," the Nutcracker told her.

"You sure the Nutcracker doesn't say that?" Sunset whispered to Rainbow Dash, who burst out in laughter.

The fairies then started fluttering around the valley, and the girls gasped when they saw grass growing beneath their feet. About six of the fairies did a routine as flowers bloomed beneath them.

"Woah," Fluttershy said, following the fairies.

"Only Fluttershy would be excited about this," Pinkie giggled as she started running in the newly grown fields of grass around them.

The fairies kept magically growing the valley, and soon, apple trees came into view, and they knew they were apple trees because luscious red apples grew from the branches.

The group then found themselves standing in a beautiful apple orchard, and some fairies decided to have a little fun with the humans, dropping apples on the Nutcracker's head and tripping up Twilight. Other fairies kept dancing around Clara, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Sunset, trying to get all four of them to join.

"Sorry, I don't dance," Clara said.

The Nutcracker kept picking apples for supplies.

Eventually, Clara started twirling around with the fairies.

"Come on!" she said to Rainbow Dash.

"I don't do this kind of dance," Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and slapped away a fairy. "Why do these pixie things keep trying to make me do stuff I can't do?"

"Maybe you're the Sugar Plum Princess," Applejack joked, only the Nutcracker heard her.

"You think I'm gonna be some princess?" Rainbow Dash laughed.

"It makes sense, since you have magic," the Nutcracker said, and Rainbow Dash's eyes widened.

"You've got the wrong idea, buddy," she said, slowly backing away and slamming into a tree.

"Or it could be one of you two," the Nutcracker said.

"Nope," Sunset said.

"I thought we were supposed to be watching this movie," Applejack rolled her eyes. "Not be actresses in this movie."

"And there's thirty seven more to go!" Pinkie squealed.

"So, what happens if one of us really is the Sugar Plum Princess?" Sunset asked the Nutcracker.

"You might have to stay here forever," the Nutcracker said. "To help rule Parthenia."

"Wait..." Twilight shook her head. "WHAT?"

"I may like royalty, but this is a bit much, don't you think?" Rarity stammered. "I mean, I'm still in the school system and--"

"School system?" the Nutcracker raised an eyebrow.

"Just a thing," Rainbow Dash said as fairies started pushing her away from the tree.

"Anyways," Twilight said, watching as the fairies kept messing with her friend. "None of us could really be the Sugar Plum Princess, because we're not on the cast list, and I have a feeling the Sugar Plum Princess--"

"Clara," Rainbow Dash whispered, quiet enough so Clara didn't hear.

"Would be mentioned on there, and I haven't been in a single movie, so yeah," Twilight said. "Neither have my friends."

"Are you kidding!" Pinkie dug into her hair and pulled out a DVD called "Legend of Everfree." "Then what's this?"

"There's a movie about me?" Rainbow Dash took the DVD. "Awesome!"

However, everything was cut short when they heard stomping in the distance. The fairies turned and squeaked in horror, scattering.

In the distance was a giant, made entirely out of rock and pillars.

"Run!" the Nutcracker ordered, and all nine of them fled from the valley as the rock giant kept stomping closer and closer, never straying from the Nutcracker or the Equestria Girls.

"I think he wants us!" Pinkie exclaimed as the giant smashed a pile of apples.

"You think?" Rarity thrust out a crystal shield to try and protect them, but the giant smashed it to pieces instantly.

"I've got this," Sunset said, running to the giant.

"What is she doing?" Clara gasped. "She's going to be crushed!"

But Sunset run up to the giant and pressed her hand against its leg. Her eyes glowed, and memories of the Mouse King forming the monster flashed in her head.

"It's from the Mouse King!" Sunset shouted. "He's after all seven of us!"

"Why would he be after us?" Pinkie wondered aloud.

"BECAUSE WE HAVE MAGIC!" Rainbow Dash screamed. "HE WANTS OUR MAGIC!"

The giant picked up Sunset by the leg and started shaking her pretty aggressively, which caused her vision to blur and then black out from the dizziness and possible concussion due to the violent rocking.

"Sunset!" Twilight cried. "DROP HER THIS INSTANT!"

But the giant didn't listen to her.

"He's probably hurt her!" Clara shouted to the rest of the group. "We have to get her away from the giant before he does something worse!"

Finally, they made it to the hill and saw Major Mint and Captain Candy preparing a ship.

"Major! Captain!" Clara cried, running down the hill. "It's Sunset... she's in trouble!"

"What in the..." Major Mint said. "She's gone mad!"

"Rock giant!" Captain Candy pointed in the distance, where nine members of the group were running down the hill, a massive rock giant behind them, with an unconscious Sunset in his hand.

Pimm flew up to the rock giant.

"We've got one, we can keep her hostage!" he said excitedly. "And there's her friends and the Nutcracker! After them! After them!"

"Major! Captain! Over here!" Clara called out, hiding behind a rock as the giant threw a boulder with his free hand, smashing the ship.

"I worked on that sail for half an hour!" Major Mint complained.

That's when a familiar group of fairies flew past the group, hovering over the sea, which froze it solid.

"The ice fairies," Rarity said as Marzipan galloped into their view, the sled right behind them.

"Go in, go in!" Rainbow Dash pushed the group to the sled. "I'll get Sunset."

"I'm with you," Twilight said, and they both ponied up, only they transformed into their crystal guardian attire, flying up to get their friend back. However, the rock giant seemed interested in following the sled out on the sea, and trudged over to them.

"He's stronger than our powers," Twilight noted, trying to pull him back with telekinesis.

"How are going to get Sunset back, then?" Rainbow Dash asked.

They watched as the rock giant was gaining on Marzipan.

"The ice isn't breaking," Captain Candy observed.

"The snow fairies did their job very well, then," Major Mint said.

Rarity and Applejack kept watching as Sunset dangled limply in the rock giant's hand.

"Where are those two?" Rarity asked, then saw Twilight and Rainbow Dash flying after the giant, their powers clearly useless against the giant as it kept shaking Sunset, like it was trying to kill her that way.

That's when the Nutcracker stopped the sled, hopping out and running towards the giant, his sword pulled out.

"Be careful!" Clara said.

"Don't worry," the Nutcracker replied, stopping and raising his sword in the air. "Wood floats."

He pushed the sword through the ice, causing it to crack.

"Rock doesn't," he smirked as he ran back to the sled.

"What about Sunset?" Applejack turned to the Nutcracker as the sled picked up again.

"Rainbow Dash and Twilight can get her," the Nutcracker said, and they saw Twilight diving for Sunset as the rock giant fell into the water. Unfortunately, Pimm swung down and started flying away with the limp Sunset.

"NO!" Twilight cried as she was flown away. A fog started covering all of them, and both Rainbow Dash and Twilight went to the sled.

~Time skip~

"If this fog doesn't clear soon, we'll never find the princess's island," the Nutcracker told the group.

"And if we don't?" Clara asked. "You've already saved Captain Candy and defeated a rock giant without her."

"The Mouse King can't be defeated alone," the Nutcracker said. "Besides, you girls want to go back home, don't you?"

"Of course," Clara said, looking off into the distance.

"She's gone," Twilight said. "We lost Sunset."

"We didn't lose her; some bat took her away," Rainbow Dash said. "No doubt that he works for the Mouse King."

Twilight bit her lip.

"What if the Mouse King tries to kill her or something?" she gasped.

"She's probably being a hostage," Pinkie guessed. "Since he wants our magic and all that."

"Reminder to not watch another Barbie movie ever again," Rainbow Dash grumbled.

At the Mouse King's palace, Sunset groggily woke up, only to find herself sitting in front of the Mouse King, her hands roped behind her back.

"Your rock giant, sent to the bottom of the sea," Pimm said, wiping snow off his wings. "And that girl is heavy. You should've picked someone stronger like you to grab her."

"Ah, the girl is awake," the Mouse King sneered.

"I have a name, you know," Sunset clenched her teeth together.

"Not that it matters," the Mouse King said. "Now... what do you know about this Sugar Plum Princess?"

"Other than a bet I have with Rainbow Dash on whether Clara's the Sugar Plum Princess or not and the guess that I could be her, I really don't know much," Sunset replied.

"Lies," the Mouse King hissed. "I could always turn you into something much more useful, you know."

He gestured to the pile of books behind him.

"I've combed the entire library and there's no mentions of a Sugar Plum Princess other than she's supposedly kind, clever, and brave," he said. "However, she's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is getting rid of the Nutcracker and luring your friends here."

Sunset was now officially worried for her friends, old and new.
