Athena

I yawn and look up at the ceiling as I slowly open my eyes, my first thought of the day being about mine and Ryders kiss. Was that a dream?! No it wasn't! I began squealing and kicking my legs like giggly school girl, which is exactly what I was. I couldn't believe it, I touched my lips as if that would make me feel anymore like the kiss was a reality. Just thinking about it gave me shivers, I wanted more already.

I decide to stop thinking about Ryder and instead think about the rest of the group since we were going to the fair today. I just knew it was going to be fun like it always was with them. I wouldn't of thought I would find such amazing people in this town, but here I am, giggling about kissing a boy and meeting people I don't think could ever be replaced in my life. These were my people.

I stretch my arms out and jump up from my bed, heading straight into a hot shower. I wash up but take my time to get out since the hot water felt too nice on my skin to only experience for a few minutes. I take my bathrobe off after drying my body and then go down to my vanity. I looked at my reflections and pulled the bathrobe away from the top of my chest. The hickeys on my neck and chest made all the memories of last night flash back once again. I couldn't help but grin to myself. 

I tie up the bathrobe tight again and head downstairs. The smell of bacon hit me and I ran down the steps. I go into the kitchen and my mom smiles at me. "I heard you shower so I'm making your breakfast. Sit down, it'll be ready in a minute" She orders. I kiss her cheek "Thanks mom, your the best" I grin widely and she laughs.

She finishes the food within a few minutes and puts it on a plate. She walks over and places it in front of me and places her plate opposite mine, sitting down. We both began eating it instantly. We had the same love towards food.

"I heard you came home for less than a minute and ran back out" She questions with an eyebrow raised and I laugh awkwardly "Yeaah.. About that.." I start. "Did you guys actually do it this time?" She asks seriously instead of joking and I shake my head. "No. We didn't trust me. We just kissed" I laughed. she looked down at my neck "Well not just kissed but definitely not sex" I add in quickly.

We had a small talk and after we finished I do the dishes and head back upstairs. I look through my wardrobe and pick a nice pair of baggy jeans matching with my long sleeved black top that had a small white bow in the centre of the neck line. I finish with my makeup and put my tv on for a little. All of a sudden my phone begins to ring and I answer it. "Come to my house. We should leave in 10 minutes" Ryder orders. "Yeah, I'll leave now" I answer and we end it.

I pick up Ares and dress him up cutely in a white all-in-one and bring a bag with his stuff that he cries about in. And put my own stuff in it too. I leave soon after telling everyone goodbye

I knock on his door and he opens it. He was wearing a similar outfit and I instantly blush when I see it. "You look great" He grins and I smile brightly "You do too. But we look like we are wearing matching outfits" I laugh and he shrugs and puts his hand on my waist and drags me out of the house, closing the door behind us. "Oh well" he laughs, that beautiful dimple appearing again. I think about it and the thought of someone thinking we were a couple made me a little happy, well very happy.

I open the back door and put Ares into the baby seat and we go into the front. he starts driving instantly.Ryder was also wearing baggy jeans that were similar colour to mine as well as a black muscular fit t-shirt, I had to say it was doing it's job extremely well. I sat in my seat with a blush spreading over my cheeks. "What are you thinking of?" Ryder suddenly asks, breaking my thoughts.

"Nothing" I state bluntly and look out the window to cover my face. "Maybe something perverted?" He smirks and I turn and hit his arm. "I'm not you" I glare and he laughs making me join in too.

After half an hour of driving, and a 5 minute stop because Ares wouldn't stop screeching, we finally made it to the fair.

We get out of the car and I unbuckle Ares, pick him up and carry him around. We walk into the fair and get our wristbands to prove we paid to be there. "Where are they?" I ask but mainly talking to myself. "I'll call them" Ryder states and calls his phone.

After a small conversation, he revealed they were by the food court. We walked over there and to my surprise, I see Zane with a baby only to soon realise it's a fake one. "Where did you get the fake baby," I ask him as we get closer to the group who were waving at us. Zane was pouting cutely and points over to Olivia who doesn't have one in her hand like usual. Masons still did though.

"What? You offered" She laughs. "Yeah! yesterday! for 5 minutes! Why am I still stuck with it!" He complains. "You shouldn't have offered man. I done the same once... I got stuck with two babies instead of one. A night so stressful I almost cried ." Michael pats his shoulder.

We all laugh. Poor Zane and Michael. "This thing woke me up at 2 in the morning!" He cries and I pat him on the head. "We have all been there. Most nights when we have it" I start "It's the worse" Adds Ryder.

"Athena your neck looks a little red?" Zane states and I laugh awkwardly. I put makeup over it but there were still small red patches. It wasn't obvious at all but Zane was good at spotting things about me. "Ah... A rash" I say. He gives me a questioning look but I ignore it.

After talking for a little we finally decide to go on a ride called the Evolution. I wasn't really used to rides so I was a little scared to go on it. "You'll be fine" Ryder reassures and I nod and smile. We all go on and I surprisingly really enjoyed it. It was scary but at the same time the adrenaline was the best. I felt alive. The only thing I could hear was Mason screaming. He screeched louder than the fake babies.

The fake babies were barely able to stay in my arms as we span and flew all the over the place, but they surprising didn't cry as much as a normal baby would. I think a normal baby would have died

We got off and went to the next ride which was a roller coaster. It went around the whole fair. We road it but more than it being way too fast it was just fast. It went around twice and I enjoyed the view of the fair from it as well as the view right next to me, Ryder.

I couldn't help but look at him the second time going around. He caught me staring so I coughed to cover it up and looked away. I heard him laugh a little. He puts his hand under my chin and turns my face to his. We were at the back so none of the others could see us.

We look at each other in the eyes and he pecks my lips quickly and I release a smile. He puts his hands down but instantly I pull him close again and kiss once more before we all get off the ride. I felt a little excitement from the secretiveness.

We go on a few other rides but then we heard of a small show going on nearby and decided to go watch it. We all sat down and watched it but after 5 minutes my throat began to get really dry. "I'm going to get a drink" I whisper to Ryder and get up. He held my wrist and gets up. "I'm coming too" He smiles and we walk over to the food court with Ares in my arms.

We queue up and when it's finally our turn the woman smiles at us. "What would the young couple like?" She asks and looks down at Ares who was in my arms facing my chest. "Could we have two slushies?" Ryder politely smiles. "We have warm milk if your baby wants any" She grins at us then looks down at Ares.

"O-oh-" I was about to explain that it was a fake baby when Ryder interrupted. "It's ok we already have some" He grins back at her then turns and smirks at me. "Very reliable parents you both are despite being young. Often people forget the small things the baby need when they are young. But you're doing a great job" She compliments and we thank her.

She gives us the slushies' and wishes us luck with the baby and we thank her again before leaving and walking back to the show. We sit down next to the others and watch the show till it ends. Soon after it ends people begin to leave when all of a sudden I hear someone yell my name.

"Athena!" A child yells and all of a sudden someone runs into me and hugs me tightly. I soon realise who the young boy was and hug him back. "Hey max!" I greet and he doesn't let go. "Hey" He greets.

"Max- Oh that's where you ran off too" His mom laughs behind him. She was with an older man who I assumed to be Max's father and then a boy who looked like an older version of max. He looked around our age.

"I miss you LOADS!" He yells, finally letting go of me. "Hey kid" Ryder greets him. Max glares a little at Ryder but smiles when Ryder ruffles his hair and hugs him too.

"It's nice to meet you" His dad raises his hand and I shake it. "You too" I grin. "Max talks about his favourite person in the world, you, all the time," His mom says and I shake my head and laugh at him. "Do you still get into trouble?" I ask him and he shakes his head. I pat his shoulder and compliment him.

"Well actually. We are here on a family trip. My older son, Mile, is in University but it's in a different state and we don't often see each other. He's taken a week's break and will have to go back tomorrow so we went on a day out" His father smiles.

Mile raises his hand and I shake it and look up at him. I had to admit he was very good-looking and muscular, but nothing in comparison to Ryder. That guy was basically a God with those looks. "From the small time I've been home, Max has talked about you a lot. Especially about how much he missed you" He laughs and I do too. Ryder takes a step closer to me and I release Miles' hand.

"Do you mind if I get your number? I don't know what to do if Max doesn't see you for a while" Max's mom asks with a sympathetic smile. "Don't worry about it. I would love to"

We exchange numbers and after a small while, we went our separate ways with Max giving me another very long and tight hug.

The sky was getting much darker so Michael starts wiggling his brows. "How about we go to a haunted house" He suggests and Mason and Zane hug each other and shake their heads a little fast. "Sure why not?" Ryder says. "Yea lets do it!" Olivia grins. They all look over to me. I hate to admit that I get scared easily and didn't know whether to do it but I wanted to experience new things.

"Sure?" I add and Mason and Zane frown . We walk in with the two who didn't want to come in being dragged by Michael and Olivia.

The second we get in it's pitch black and cramped. When all of a sudden something jumps out at us. I jump, literally, into Ryder and hold him with my face in his chest. "Don't worry. You're with me" He whispers as he leans down. I nod a little and we continue with the haunted house. Mason and Zane would never fail to scream and each time I would get more and more scared.

I was a wuss and I hated it but jump scares really got to me. The next one happened and I began crying because it was right next to me. Everyone looked over to me and Ryder hugged me and pulled me into him. "Athena? Are you ok?" He questions as I sob into his chest and hold him tightly. I didn't cry at much but for some reason jump scares really got to me. When watching horror movies I was never really affected by the plot but would start instantly crying at the jumpscares. I guess I haven't grown as much as I would've like to have thought. 

I shake my head and he thinks for a minute. "Let's quickly get out of here," He says and I smile a little with tears in my eyes at him.

We go past the others and go much faster to make out way out of the never-ending darkness. All of a sudden someone in the costume jumps out and I scream and jump into Ryder. But the next thing I knew the guy was on the ground after Ryder punched him in the nose. "Oops?" He says and looks down at the guy. 

We had to walk out with the unhappy guy behind us and go to security.

"It was reflex" Ryder bluntly says as the guy sits there. I had to agree I definitely wouldn't be happy but I wouldn't take it as far as to try to get someone in trouble when it was an accident.

After 30 minutes of being there, we finally get released the policeman kept looking at Ares who was in my chest. He must've thought it was a real baby. "Since they're young parents they must be stressed and need to go home so their little one can sleep" The police officer in the security room states. "Let's finish this with an accident and go" He finishes up, letting us finally leave.

The other's eyes light up when they see us. "He tried to claim it as an assault but since it was an accident and we have a baby we got away" I state and Ryder nods.

Zane all of a sudden laughs "Why did you hit him" He carries on laughing and Ryder gets red and starts rubbing the back of his neck. "Athena was already scared and the guy just jumped out so without even thinking I punched him" He said quickly.

His answer shocked me and I looked up at him with what were probably the googly eyes Alex always talked about. So that was the reason for his reflex.

He looked down at me and smiled shyly. I smiled brightly and then we ended up going back to the car after a very long day. The car drive was mostly silent apart from the music that was quietly playing on the radio. But strangely it wasn't awkward. It was nice and comforting. I felt happy just being in Ryders presence.

He parked his car and looked over at me and I looked at him. We stared into each other's eyes, searching for one another. But before we could search deeply we pulled in and began kissing. I pulled the back of his hair and make him groan. I smile over the control I had over him as he came closer to me. Making me lean backwards as he leaned forwards. But we didn't break the kiss.

We only tightened it as both of our tongues explored one another.

After letting go we once again looked into each other's eyes and both saw what we wanted.
