THIRD PERSON'S POV.

FREDWARD.

Fredward groaned as he laid on his bed. He's been awake for a few minutes but he made no effort to stand up or move as he tried recollect what happened last night. A ghost smile appeared on his lips until a frown took over.

He turned around and his eyes went over to the night stand that held on it, a glass pitcher filled with water and a glass of water with a bottle of advil. At the front of this items was a note with a familiar handwriting.

'Good morning sir. No offence sir, but frankly that headache you are feeling right now serves you right. Take the drug and get out of bed, it's a new day. I've cancelled all your morning appointments, take your time to feel better.

Yours sincerely,
Your very much still employed assistant.

Mr Skyler White.'

The ghost smile returned to his face unknowingly as he placed the note carefully in the night stand drawer before taking the drugs.

More memory of last night came to his mind especially of the last moment of last night. He could still feel the graze on his forehead as Skyler swept the air out of his face.

He had sobered up last night when (s)he was helping him clean up and he could still feel (her) his presence around him and he knew (s)he wouldn't leave until (s)he was convinced that he was already asleep. What he didn't expect was what he heard last night.

He took his phone that sat on his night stand to call someone who could find out anything about anyone. He dialed the number and the line went after the first ring.

"Good morning Mr Fredward." The calm, smooth and Honey- like familiar voice came from the other side.

"Hey Yuvraj, I wanted to ask you for a favour."

"What is it sir? I'll be happy to help."

"I want you to find out everything you can on a particular Skyler White."

"Of course I'll get to it immediately."

"Thanks."

"It's no problem sir, it's my pleasure. I'll send the information I get to your office."

"Yes. Thank you."

"Good day sir."

"To you too Yuvraj." And Fredward ended the call.

********

Fredward looked at the dark blue leather strapped watch on his wrist to see that it was already a few minutes before ten o'clock. His head was feeling a little better except for the slight throb in his  head. Fredward was not one to stay at home on a Monday morning no matter how he sees it.

The elevator that took him to his office floor dinged open, as he took a step out, he was greeted by a very cheerful looking assistant, whose identity he wasn't so sure of anymore.

"Good morning sir. It's a beautiful morning and I thought I had told you that you could come  in later in the day." Skyler said in one breathe.

"Well, I'm the boss." Fredward countered as he fully got out of the elevator.

"I had the feeling you wouldn't listen to me." Skyler stretched out her hand to him. "It's coffee." She said as he collected it from her and continued walking to his office and she followed closely behind.

"Helen from the legal department called, she's sent the final draft of the contract and wants you to go through it, but she thinks the draft was good to go and you should consider closing it as soon as possible. I have gone through it this morning and I think so too. Mr Donald called again this morning and would like you to give him an answer, I know you are not considering his offer but I have printed the draft of his offer if you want to check it out.

" The PR wants an affirmation to go ahead with what was discussed at the meeting with the Holland scandal, they think it's better to wait things out for now but I've told them to get along with it as you instructed earlier. "

Fredward opened the door to his office and Skyler followed him dutifully into his office.

"I've completed and looked through the new accounts and all your appointments have been postponed to later in the afternoon, so—" Skyler placed a brown bag on his desk and Fredward wondered where she got that from.

"What is that?" He asked as he looked sceptically at the bag in front of him.

"That's your breakfast, or rather, your late breakfast. You probably had just coffee and a slice of toast."

Fredward raised his brows by his accurate she was and looked at her surprised and impressed.

"Where did you get it from?"

"Don't worry, I had your health as a priority. It's completely safe and I'm aware all of your allergies,  so you won't die after eating it." Skyler said not wanting to tell Fredward that she was the one that prepared it.

"I have other things to do, so if you'll excuse me. Enjoy your breakfast sir." And with that she turned around and walked out.

Fredward watched her as she walked out of his office and he suddenly felt stupid and ridiculous.

If it looks like a girl and sounds like a girl...it is most definitely a girl.

He found it absurd that he didn't notice it. He realized that that night that she had helped his sister-in-law too, he hadn't seen it, and her figure didn't exactly portray the typical feminine shape. Her current hair length was way shorter when he first met her and her clothes were not exactly fitting but not in an unattractive messy way, but it looked like a type of style.

Why couldn't she just correct him and tell him that she was a 'she'? Fredward wondered. He wasn't a fan of lies, in fact, he hated them but from what she had told him last night Fredward could deduce that she was scared of his reaction to the truth.

He looked down and prepared to open his food while he decided to go through the files that she have kept on his desk earlier.
Fredward knew one thing, that Skyler was good at what she did and since last night, even when she started working for him, he had a certain level of respect for her.

And for that me reason, he found it interesting enough to carry on the charades of hers, purely and entirely for his own amusement.

*************

A knock came from behind the door interrupting Fredward's from the work at hand and it was a distinct knock that he was familiar with.

The door opened a little and a familiar head shot up from the slightly open space.

"Mr Fredward, a very hostile looking man is out there for you. He says he has been sent to deliver a package for you and refuses to hand it over to anyone other than you. Should I let him in?" Skyler asked.

"Yes, show him in." Fredward understood immediately that it was from Yuvraj. This wouldn't be the first time Yuvraj would send someone to deliver something to him, after all, he works for his brother.

Skyler paused a little not moving from where she stood behind the door and looking like she needed confirmation.

"It's alright Mr White. Let him in." Fredward assured her.

"Fine." She let out a sigh before disappearing behind the door.

A smile unconsciously made a way to Fredward's lips as he watched the door close behind her. A smile he didn't notice.

A few seconds latter the door opened. A well built man clad in a black suit came into his office. His right hand held a brown file envelope and his stoic face was expressionless. Fredward recognized him, as one of the security staffs working in the Mont Industries main building.

"Good afternoon Mr Montgomery. I am to personally deliver this to you." He came forward and placed the file on his desk.

"Of course." Fredward took the file and turned his attention back to the man. "Thank you."

"Good day sir." He said in a monotonic voice and turned around and walked out of his office.

Few seconds later, the door opened and Skyler walked in.

"Everything alright sir? That guy was giving me a freaky vibe." She asked.

"It's fine. He just had to deliver something confidential to me."

"Well, he takes his job very seriously." She turned her head back to the direction of the door, clearly thinking about the man she had encountered.

"Well, I'll leave you to it. I'm going on my lunch break. You won't be needing me for anything?"

"No. Enjoy your lunch Mr White." Fredward placed an emphasis on the Mr. His hold tightened around the file in his hand as he watched her walk away.

He contemplated keeping it and checking the file later on but he dismissed it and decided to open it.

Fredward didn't know if to be impressed or a little freaked out that in a span of few hours, he already had records of her entire life in his hands. It felt invasive, but he shoved it off. She had lied to him about her identity in the first place.

He arranged the files back together and closed it, placing it in his office safe that sat at his bottom drawer.

He didn't want to look anymore. He didn't know why, but he felt weird checking them.
