Sapphire: "Hm. I see."

(Y/N): "Do you though? I mean, I never got you. Yes, I know you can see the future. But how can you see when your hair is in the way? Isn't it pitch black, and future vision is you being able to know what you are about to see, so as you currently see blackness, wouldn't you just see more blackness?"

Sapphire: "No, I can see."

(Y/N): "Well okay then."

     Steven took out the scythe to show Peridot. Bismuth seemed to recognize it immediately, taking it form Peridot.

Bismuth: "Be careful with that. It's a rejuvenator. Homeworld used to use these things on gems that started stepping out of line. One hit with this and you're, back to how they made you."

Peridot: "Oh my stars, I touched it! I could have lost all my character development. Wait, how did you survive getting hit by that thing Steven?"

(Y/N): "Simple. We didn't. It affects gems. Not humans. So we are physically fine, as humans. But our abilities, either gone, or on the fritz."

Peridot: "What do you mean 'we'?"

(Y/N): "I accidentally nicked myself in the leg with it. Spreading slowly, and I can still do many things. But I can't teleport, bubbling is near impossible, and I don't want to try anything else just in case."

Peridot: "So you were your own undoing?"

(Y/N): "Exactly how I would want it to be. If I a going down, I am gonna be the one to do it. No one can beat me, if I beat myself. Ha!"

Peridot: "While that is a stupid way of thinking, that is technically sound logic."

(Y/N): "Exactly."

     I started to get a headache.

Peridot: "(Y/N), are you okay?"

(Y/N): "I mean, I have a slight headache, but how did you know?"

Peridot: "Your gem is glowing pink."

(Y/N): "Oh fun. It's spreading faster than I thought. Well, time to go lie down. Steven you got this. I feel like I am gonna pass out or something, so I need to get moving now."

Steven: "(Y/N), are you sure? Do you need me to-"

(Y/N): "Nope. I just need to-"

     I was suddenly surrounded by darkness. I was in my void realm.

(Y/N): "Oh well this is just perfect. At least I am, actually at the house!"

     I looked around to see that it didn't work.

(Y/N): "No? Well then. This is going to be very annoying."

     I looked down at my leg to see that the pink lines had completely covered my entire leg, but it wasn't getting worse, nor better. I sat down. Waiting for something to happen, when the blackness started to flash, a bright browning to black, to brownish, to black. Then I was in the temple, but also not. I felt like I was in between two places, but not like I was in two different bodies, instead it was more like, I was in one body, that couldn't decide whether it existed or not. I walked around the temple and went to the fridge. I tried to open it, but my hand passed through it.

(Y/N): "Oh yes. Very fun."

     The scene flashed again before going back to black. I could only sit and wait for something to happen. I couldn't control anything and right now, it seemed like the void was just going to do whatever it wanted.

     It was quite the boring five days, I think. Hard to keep track of time. But then the scene changed again, I heard Amethyst. We were on a moving train, Steven and Spinel were there.

Amethyst: "In the dark of the night. In the light of the day. When you're rising to shine. When you're hitting the hay... "

     I walked over to them.

(Y/N): "Hey guys, what's going on?"

     They seemed to ignore me.

Steven: "...Just remember this song."

Amethyst: "How's it go i forgot?"

(Y/N): "Guys, my abilities are on the fritz, I need help. I might not be here much longer, please. Guys."

     I tired to grab Stevens arm but I passed right through him. There was still no acknowledgement.

Steven & Amethyst: "I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what."

     The scene turned black again, I stared at where Amethyst, Steven, and Spinel were. I sat down again. Waiting for my next opportunity to reach out.

     I swear to god I have been here for two months. I am so bored. So alone. There is nothing here, no one around. My leg hasn't changed at all, I think this might be permanent. I hope it's not permanent. I just want out of here. I have been wanting out of here ever since I saw Steven and Amethyst. The scene changed again, I was now on the hill with the injector. They're still not done with that? But how? Steven would have figured out how to deal with this by now. 

Steven: "Lapis, Bismuth, Peridot."

Amethyst: "What's the damage?"

     Are they just now assessing it? This seems impossibly slow by now. If they keep going at this rate, they are surely doomed. I walked up to them.

Peridot: "Amethyst, get away from me. I can't stand to see you all vacant and bereft of personality."

Amethyst: "Yo, I'm back you dip."

Peridot: "Oh, well, you're just in time for the end of the world."

(Y/N): "Guys, I need your help, as soon as you can when you're done with this, you need to help me get out of this, void place. Guys?.... Of course, you still can't hear me. I mean, I don't exist after all."

Peridot: "This is no ordinary injector. Whatever it's leaking into the ground is toxic. Let's get a scan going and see what we're dealing with."

     I was about to walk up to them, hoping proximity might change something when I was pulled back into the void world. Why? Why does this have to happen? I mean, yeah, I used to be ignored, but at least they somewhat acknowledged my presence. I was about to sit down again when I saw some sort of light in the distance. My eyes widened. What is...? Whatever, this might be my only chance! I started to run toward that glint in the distance. My legs started to get tired, and the glint wasn't getting larger, but it wasn't going away either. It had to be so close. I had to be almost there. But I couldn't keep running. My legs felt like they were gonna give.

     I sat there. I haven't gotten hungry, or tired, or thirsty.

(Y/N): "Hmm, how long has it been now? Years? Decades? Who cares. Ha."

     I looked around at the only thing I knew at this point. Blackness. I didn't grow taller, I think. I don't have more or less hair. Am I immortal here? Is this where I sit for eternity? Maybe. The scene flashed again. I was in the temple, Pearl and Amethyst seemed to be normal, Garnet still wasn't back yet. I didn't bother trying to talk to anyone. I just stood by the counter and watched as Steven brought Spinel back. Amethyst and Pearl took out their weapons, Garnet was very much clueless.

Garnet: "Oh Spinel, did you change your hair?"

Steven: "Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. Spinel got her memories back, but she's not gonna hurt us. Everything's chill."

     Lion and Connie jumped out of a portal as Connie had her sword out, ready to fight.

Connie: "I'm here! Where's the fight?"

Steven: "Don't fight! Everything's chill!"

     Greg got out of the bathroom, Amethyst and Pearl immediately turn on him.

Greg: "Alright Alright, I'll wash my hands."

Steven: "Spinel, can I ask you a favor?"

Spinel: "Are you kidding? Anything."

(Y/N): "Oh no. I somehow feel like you are going to mess things up big time Steven. Oh how I missed this. I wonder how you aren't older. I mean, Greg should definitely have gray hair by now. I think."

     They started to go outside, I followed, passing through the closed door as we looked out at the injector. I watched as Spinel walked up tot he injector and made a horn with her hands. She blew into said horn, which turned off the injector.

(Y/N): "Congratulations, let's see how Steven manages to mess up this win."

     Everything instantly went black again.

(Y/N): "Oh come on, it was just getting good. Well, it's been a while since I checked on my leg."

     I took a look, and saw the infection had started to recede. Slowly, very slowly, it was going away.

(Y/N): "Oh cool. I wonder if I'll ever manage to go back? Maybe, maybe not. Very interesting."

     The scene changed again.

(Y/N): "Oh cool, already? Isn't this a bit fast?"

     I was standing in a crater of sorts. The Diamonds were there. Steven suggested Spinel go with the Diamonds. They held her as they started to leave. I sat on a rock as I watched, waiting for the scene to end. I looked up and mumbled.

(Y/N): "Not that I'm complaining but, when am I going to leave?"

     Everyone turned to me in shock.

Steven: "(Y/N)? What have you been doing?"

     My eyes widened as they looked at me.

(Y/N): "Wait. You mean..... You can see me!?"

Pearl: "Well of course, you're right here."

(Y/N): "But, I have been here. The whole time, but also not. My powers are still on the fritz, they've been like this ever since... how long ago was it, twenty, no, more than that, fifty four years, give or take?"

Pearl: "What? That's absurd?"

(Y/N): "What do you mean?"

Steven: "(Y/N), we just saw you, like two days ago at the tower. You said you felt tired."

     I looked at him in shock.

(Y/N): "But I.... It's been..... that's impossible."

Pearl: "Well after so long in nothingness it may feel like a while-"

(Y/N): "I wasn't just stuck in there. Sometimes I would appear somewhere else, with you guys. I would try to say something, but you wouldn't hear. Back on the train with you, Amethyst, and Spinel. I tried to talk to you Steven but you didn't hear me. I tried to grab your arm, and I just, went right through you. Some gaps were short, a few days, some were mere months, but there was this one, I swear, it felt like actual decades."

Pearl: "Oh (Y/N), this Void does seem to be another dimension of sorts right?"

(Y/N): "Oh yes, very much so."

Pearl: "It's possible the normal laws of time do not apply there."

(Y/N): "Well, the important part is I'm back. I can touch, I can speak and... I can drink. I can eat! I need food."

     I rushed into the temple.
