I awoke to the loud ringing of the alarm on my phone. I was in my bed and grabbed the device and turned off the loud sound. I inspected my phone only to realize it was the beginning of the week, a tiring Monday. If only I had the ability to pause time to take a nap or go back to my deep slumber. But against all my hopes, I am incapable to do so. I observed my room, no clothes on the floor this time.

I changed into a fresher set of clothes and threw my previous ones into the hamper. I wore black ripped jeans and a black T-shirt with green print saying 'Alien'. I put on black socks as well and layered my outfit with a camouflage designed jacket.

I left my room and consumed a can of coffee then threw it into the trash can. I took my backpack and shoved all my essentials into it. I made sure that I had everything: chargers, keys, homework and my wallet. I clutched my bag and took my car keys. I sported my favorite shoes, my green high cut Converse. I locked the door to my house and departed and made my way to my car. I got inside and set my bag down to the seat next to me. I locked my seatbelt in place and switched the car on with my keys. The car revved to life and I drove towards my school, Gem University. Being a college student was a hassle and Mondays were the worst.

It was 7 in the morning, just in time for my morning shift. I pulled over to the parking lot of the coffeeshop that I worked part-time in. I took my car keys and bag and entered the place and was greeted by the smell of coffee beans and its ambience. Besides that, I was greeted by the sound of two of my coworkers bickering. Those two being Pearl and Amethyst. They were close despite the constant quarrels. I placed my bag down in the staff room.

Amethyst was around my height and was chubby to say the least. She was wearing a black polo and black ripped slacks along with the designated apron for work. She was tan like Lazuli and had purple hair and dark blue eyes. Amethyst was sisters with Jasper even though their height difference was pretty great. Even so, both were weirdly strong.

Pearl was unalike compared to Amethyst. She was tall and skinny. She was quite pale and had short strawberry blonde hair along with light blue eyes. She wore a white polo and black slacks also with the same dark green apron Amethyst had. She was a ballerina and was quite intelligent up to a point that I disliked.

"Amethyst what did I tell you about late night parties?!" Pearl scolded Amethyst. I'm not wondering why, she was there at Jasper's party last Saturday. "See? Now you have a headache."

"Yeah yeah." She replied, irritated. The reason behind it is between the headache or Pearl. "Oh hey P-dot." She greeted me with a smirk and a wave.

"Oh hello Peridot." Pearl welcomed as well, going back to serve customers who had arrived.

"Sooo... what went down with Lapis?" She asked as I removed my jacket. She had this smug grin pasted on her face. "Heard she stayed over." Of course, she knew I'd ever be in a relationship. This won't be the last time someone will ask me this today, I must brace myself.

"I haven't gotten an idea where you got the concept of Lazuli and I doing something in my house. The most was talking as I slept on the bed as she was on the couch." I lied, it would be better so she wouldn't ask so many more inquiries. I grabbed an apron and put it on.

"Awww..." She said as we both went to work. She handled making certain orders and I took orders. Pearl seemed delighted to see us actually working.

We kept dealing with customers and many orders for about an hour and other people took over for us. I removed my apron and let it hang on the apron racks. I grabbed my bag and made way to my building.

"See ya birb mom." Amethyst waved at Pearl as she headed the other direction from us. Amethyst and I's building are nearby to the other. Even though we had different courses.

I made my way to my locker and unlocked it. I was taking the books and notebooks as Amethyst had leaned on the locker next to mine.

"You sure as heck that nothing ever happened?" She questioned again as I closed my locker, books and notebooks in hand.

"Yes, perhaps." I answered, holding my books as I my grip on my backpack tightened. She shrugged and made her way to her building as I did.

I walked in peace as other students had passed by. I held my books and notebooks close to me. Along the way, I bumped into someone. That was the beginning of my torment of the day. The person I had bumped into was Aquamarine.

Aquamarine was head of the student council. She was petite but had a higher position in the social student hierarchy. She held more power than me, a social outcast. She had a short bob haircut dyed blue and was held in place with a hairband. She was popular and had followers to defend her in situations like now.

"Oh, hello you pathetic twat." She spat, her words laced with venom and poison. Her British accent emphasizing her insult. "Topaz. Let's go." She said as she walked away being followed by Topaz. My books scattered on the floor.

Topaz was as huge as Jasper and had short blonde hair that was flat at the top. She was pale and wore headphones often. She followed Aquamarine like a pet because she apparently had a crush on her, I believe they were dating as of the moment. She was part of the basketball varsity and would make perfect sense for her size.

The two walked farther away from me as I was picking up my fallen notebooks and books. I was gathering what had fallen until I felt a hand brush against mine. I looked over to see Lazuli's hands helping me gather my fallen items. She flashed her smile that didn't show her teeth. I grunted and continued to get the rest of my things. I stood up with my books in hand as Lazuli gave me the things she picked up

"Lazuli." I said, staring at her as she handed me the rest of my books. "What do you want?" I asked her. Her helping is convenient but bothered me. What motive could she have for helping me?

"Just wanted to help." She smiled again. The same smile that would make me feel odd. The smile that was so half-assed you'd recognize it was Lazuli.

I grunted and walked past her, putting on my earphones as I made my way to first period. It was already 8:30. I had social studies, Ms. Malachite's class. We had a test and I aced it. After that was English Literature with Ms. Opal. I didn't have any problems with either subjects and both were undemanding with extra work. After those subjects which would take around 3 hours and a half so it would be 12 noon currently. It was now lunch break at last. As the bell rang, students bolted out of the classroom with friends or by themselves. Some making their way to the cafeteria and others hanging out with friends. I was going alone.

I trudged the halls and went to my locker and deposited most of my books and notebooks. Students were also at their lockers and others were chatting with their friends. I closed my locker and went to the cafeteria. As I roamed the empty halls making my way towards the cafeteria, I overheard a familiar voice. It was Jasper.

"Lapis please give me another chance!" Her voice echoed from the end of a hallway. I walked towards it, intrigued. I knew I shouldn't eavesdrop but I was overcome with temptation. I wanted to know.

"No. I won't be your prisoner anymore." A second voice snapped back at Jasper. That sounded so much like... Lazuli. Wait. I stood at a corner and took a peek.

I witnessed something that was so outrageous. I saw Jasper clinging to Lazuli. Jasper looked so vulnerable and weak. She looked like she was begging her. Only for it to be viewed with a look of disgust from Lazuli.

"Please! I've changed!" Jasper begged sounding as if she was on the verge of crying.

"Leave me alone." Lazuli said as she pulled her arm away from Jasper's grasp. "I don't want you." She said with a strong and firm voice, much different from her carefree attitude.

I decided I had heard enough so I walked away, making my way to the cafeteria. I could hear the two still continuing to have their dispute. This is what had become of Jasper's problems.

"Lapis please!"

"Don't ever go near me again!"

"I'm sorry! I've changed I swear!"

"No, you haven't. That's why no one ever stays."

I walked farther from the source of noise. I trudged closer to the cafeteria and entered it. I bought a sandwich and sat down near the corner of the large room. I ate away, hoping to remove the memory of what I saw. It made so much sense. I kept on munching until I had finished it. I shook my head.

This wasn't my problem. Why was I worried? This was their problem, they will find a solution, not me. All I knew was that they used to date and that was during the time Jasper had become an alcoholic. Though she stopped once Lazuli left her. She would come over if she had a hangover and she'd appear with bruised knuckles and calluses. I never questioned it and assumed it was part of her sports training or whatever. I just ignored all the evidence pointing to it.

This was the result. Jasper begging and Lazuli wanting someone else. She had massively messed up. She did something she shouldn't have.

I was lost in though until a familiar bluenette sat down opposite of me. Even though there were multiple bluenettes in the school, I immediately recognized her for her tan skin. She had a sandwich in hand and she looked at me. I took note that her wrist was red from what I assumed was Jasper's grip. She was wearing a black tank top and bleached denim shorts and blue high cut converse like me. She really liked blue. She was part of the swimming athletics team. She looked around, averting her eyes from the table that Jasper had just seated with.

"Lazuli." I said, bringing her attention to me. "Why are you... seated here?" I asked her as she took a bite of her sandwich.

She swallowed it and stared at me. "Well see," She began as she faced others tables. "I don't want to sit with Jasper and sitting with Aquamarine would give me unnecessary attention. Also that Steven's table looked full." She explained, going back to face me. "So I decided your table looked lonely."

I stared at her and sighed. This woman is weird. Why did my drunk ass decide to be involved with her? Now this is why you don't drink kids. I had to deal with her for the rest of the day. She was in at least half of my classes in the afternoon.

She finished eating as we talked for a small bit. The bell rang signaling us to go to class. I stood up and so did Lazuli. Students like Lazuli and I made our way to our respective classes. Though I'd see her later on in my other classes. Today was tiring from start to finish.

Ugh.
