"Oh... Anyway, Yashiro, tell her about Kou!" I shook her gently. "Kou is Teru's younger brother," I informed her. "So she has a thing for blondes?" Aoi innocently asked. "Yep!" I smile. "Y/N! Stop!" She shakes me aggressively as I and Aoi talk about Kou. I laugh. "Yashiro why are you shaking me so hostility?" I yelled as she continued to shake the life out of me.
-The 4 o'clock Library-
(Mentions of putting someone on fire)
We started scanning the books in the library. "You're probably bored, Kou. We're sorry." Yashiro said to break the silence. "Me? Never! Besides, you're my bro now. I'd do anything for you. And I may or may not be a little curious to read his book myself." Kou told her. "You mean my girl?" I whispered. "Shut up!" Yashiro hits my shoulder. "I had a feeling that might be it, Kou," Yashiro said. "You're trying to find his weakness so you can exorcise him, aren't you?" I asked.
"Well... I've been doing some thinking. And I honestly can't say I know that much about the guy or that I have a real reason to exorcise him. Well besides that fact that he's a toilet germ." Kou confessed. "Can ghosts even get germs?" Yashiro asked. "I've only seen him fight the bad guys," I added. "There isn't a reason to get rid of him."
"We're on the same page." Yashiro grabs his hand and smiles. "I know we'll find his book together!" She was blushing a bit but it wore off. Kou looked stunned. I sigh and I saw a butterfly past me. I follow the animal and it lands on a book. "Hey, look at this," I told them as they walk towards me. I touch the book and dust surrounds me. "Y/N!" Yashiro yelled as she runs over to me.
I look and suddenly there was a door. "Is that the door we were looking for?" I asked Yashiro. "I think so." He nods. I go inside and start searching immediately. The place gave me the creeps so I didn't want to stay for long. Kou and Yashiro were slowly but, surely coming inside. I look around. "It's kinda dark here," I mentioned. A mokke hands me a lantern. I smile and I look at the lantern then, myself. I shrieked and Yashiro and Kou came running to me. "What happened? What are you wearing?" Yashiro asked. "I don't know," I yelled. I had a white, black and pink dress on.
Lloyd
"When did you change?" Kou asked. "I didn't!" I panicked. "It's okay! It isn't a threat." Kou said before muttering something. "O- okay. Can we just find the book so we can leave?" I started walking around. "Okay." Yashiro and Kou follow behind me. "White books are records for the living, and black books are the records for the dead. That's what Aoi said." Yashiro recalled.
"Cool, so we're looking for a black book, then," Kou replied. I noticed another butterfly. "There's another butterfly. I'm following it." I told them. "You can't just follow a bug!" Kou yelled. Yashiro ran with me anyway. The butterfly landed on a book and I noticed the name.
Y/N L/N
"Oh my god, is that my book?" I asked myself. "Can I get a ladder?" I asked Yashiro. She slides the ladder to me and they make sure the ladder stays in place. I take my book and I flip the pages until I reach a certain page.
My father tried burning me alive due to me trying to run away at the age of 10.
I shut the book a little too loudly. "Is everything okay over there?" Yashiro asked. "Yeah, this just isn't Hanako's book. But I read a little bit and it seems the rumors of the past are true." I told them. I flip the pages a bit more until I got to a red page. 'A red page? I'm guessing this is where the future starts' I flipped more pages and I got to a certain page.
My first kiss in the garden
"What?! Who? When?" I thought out loud. I read more pages.
My crush confessed for me, for real this time.
I passed that. "Back to Hanako..." I flip a couple of pages.
Find out more about the 7th wonder.
"Is this it?" I start reading the page but it started turning red. I yelped. 'How is it red?!' I thought. 'I wanted to know more about Hanako!' I thought as I whined. I flipped to the next page. "I could see a little," I whispered. I squinted at the page. "Is that his name? I could barely see it." I mumbled. "Watch out!" Kou yelled as he grabbed me. Yashiro was on his back. I got off of him and my eyes widened.
"Is that me?" I asked. "Bring it on, whatever you are!" Kou yelled as a yellow ball began forming at the end of his tool. He tried casting his device but almost nothing came out. I stood in front of Yashiro. "I forgot he shut down my staff! Damnit Hanako, you Flush Bucket!" Kou shouted. I hugged Yashiro tightly. "Did I hear my name?" Hanako suddenly asked floating upside down. A bunch of butterflies came flying towards us and Hanako defeated the butterfly monster. He looked back at us and smiled.
"Hi! Nice to see you!" He waved. "Thank you, Hanako!" I smiled. He pushed Yashiro gently so he can be next to me and stared at her for a minute. "What are you doing?" Yashiro asked. He hugged me. "Nothing, Honeybear!" He insisted. I started blushing. "What are you wearing?" He whispered. "I don't know. I was in my school uniform and the next thing I know I was in this dress." I told him. "Quit being awkward!" Kou shouted. "Hey! What do you think you're doing here?" Someone asked. Hanako still had his grip on me but I managed to turn around. "Oh, sorry sir! I don't know!" Yashiro said.
"Oh great. Look what you've done to my books." The professor that works at our school said. "Look behind you!" I yelled. The professor grew a limb and decapitated the butterfly clone. I flinched when he squashed the butterflies. I felt the embrace that was around me get a bit tighter. "This. This is why I hate kids so much. You're sticky, and you don't know when to shut up." He lectured.
He took me by my arm and pulled me out of Hanako's arms. I wanted to cry. "So, I noticed the book's turned red. Let me guess, you couldn't help yourself and read the future right? Bad idea. Bad." He told me. I tried getting out of his grasp but nothing worked. I watched him eat a butterfly and I almost threw up.
"Ew!" I squirmed around. "Hanako for fucks sake help me!" I pleaded. "Now then, what shall I do with you?" The teacher asked himself. I closed my eyes. "It's not polite to tease them," Hanako mentioned. "Okay. I guess you're right, Number Seven. I guess you're right." He dropped us and Hanako catches me. "It's very rude of me to treat the boss's guests this way. "Don't drop Y/N either. I don't want her to get dirty." He held me close. "Okay, boss."
"Uh, Hanako, who's this?" Kou asked. "Whoops. I forgot to introduce you. You're looking at Wonder Number Five. The four O'clock Library. This is Mr. Tsuchigomori." Hanako introduced us. Hanako put me down but I still stayed closer to him. "Wait, he's a teacher, and the Fifth Wonder?" Yashiro asked. "Whoa, they've got someone on staff here that not even human?" Kou questioned.
"It's not as blizzard you may think it is. When you consider that our apparitions cannot exist if our stories aren't being told. You can see why we'd want to take an active role in keeping the rumors alive. You may even have friends that aren't exactly human anymore and not notice a difference." Professor Tsuchigomori said.
"Really?!" I shivered. "Isn't that dangerous?" Yashiro asked. "More like uncomfortable. But it's never actually unsafe with us around." Hanako insisted. I saw a fox appear. "Yako, what are you doing here?" I asked. "Ask Number Seven. He summoned me." She told me. I look at Hanako. "Yes, it's true, apparitions scare humans but sometimes it's the only way to get your attention so the seven of us make sure the school remains peaceful. I lead the way." He told us.
"But there are only three of you," Kou mentioned. "Yako attacked students until recently. She doesn't count." Yashiro added. "And Mr. Tsuchigomori is scary." I shook Hanako's arm. "Gee sounds like you made a good impression." The Professor said. "You can't talk. And mind your own business Mr. Spider Legs!" Yako fired back. The two bickered. I sighed. "Stop! You're embarrassing me!" Hanako said. He pulled out his knife and pointed it at them, letting me go in the process.
"Now play nicely." He demanded. I couldn't see his face. "Yes, sir." They mumbled. I shivered. "Yashiro, it's cold in here," I mentioned. "Yeah." She replied. "As I was saying, the seven of us work as a team to maintain the peace at this school. However, it appears that one of us has metamorphosed into a traitor. They've found a way to forge a bond with a human and that human is spreading rumors about apparitions that have been altered to suit their needs. Number Two is one of their victims." Hanako lectured.
"If it were only involving Numberless apparitions, we wouldn't be concerned, but they are manipulating truths about the Wonders." Mr. Tsuchigomori added. "Which can only mean that this criminal is a human with ties to a Wonder," Yako said. "So there are more people like me and Yashiro?" I asked. "It would be extremely difficult to find them. But I've come up with a solution." Hanako told us.
"What is it?" I asked. "We'll temporarily cancel all Seven Wonders!" He announced. "What?" Kou asked. "Canel?" Yashiro added. "All?" I continued. "We'll destroy each Wonder's Yorishiro, and it will lose its power. Then we won't have to worry about finding the traitor, or everything becoming a mad mess." Hanako explained. "Sounds like we'd be making things more chaotic." Mr. Tsuchigomori shared.
"I agree with Mr. Spider Legs," I told Hanako. I felt a tense stare in my direction. "As soon as the problem's solved, then it's done. I can appoint them." Hanako walked towards me and goes behind me. He takes my hands and makes my hands go flat (palms up). I blushed at the sudden contact but went with it. "What do you say, Mr. Tsuchigomori?" Hanako asked. "Are you in?" He asked. I gave him a half-smile.
"Absolutely not, is what I'd like to say, but as you know, I hate to stir conflict. If you demand my Yorishiro, I'll comply. But that compliance has one condition." Mr. Tsuchigomori told us. "What condition?" Everyone asked. "I want each of you to tell me your juiciest secrets." He smirked. "What? Don't be weird!" I protested. "Why our secrets?" Yashiro asked.
"Why? Because I find it entertaining, wouldn't you?" Mr. Tsuchigomori confessed. "And what if they refuse to share that information? Should I prepare for battle?" Hanako asked. "Okay, no fighting Hanako." I took his hat. "Oh, no. I'll hand you my Yorishiro but my revenge will be utilizing the PA system to tell the whole school what I already know." He threatened.
I gasped as Hanako tried taking his hat. "So if I were you, I'd give me something to sink my teeth into. But it will also be fun if you don't." He stocked his tongue out and started laughing. I got the chills.
"Okay, I'll go first! My darkest secret is, uh, when I was in junior high I wrote love letters in a diary to an imaginary boyfriend!" Yashiro confessed. "I'll give it three." Mr. Tsuchigomori stated. "What? Why?" Yashiro asked. "For one, I knew you were going to say that. Second, it's kind of boring, and finally, that one is a lie." Mr. Tsuchigomori revealed. "What?" I look at Yashiro. "What do you mean? Not it's not!" She argued.
"Well, not everything. Just the part about it being when you were in junior high. You still write in it." He told us. "Dear, Sweet Kou." He started reading her 'letters'. I tried not to laugh. "You did such a great job addressing the gardening club today during the meeting and I can't even get into how hot you looked." Mr. Tsuchigomori stated.
"But don't forget that we're keeping our relationship secret for now. Please stop staring at me like that with the entire club watching. They're going to figure us out." Mr. Tsuchigomori closed his book. "There was a club meeting but that's about it." He told us. "Such scandal," Hanako whispered. "Wait... You mean me? You've been fake-secret dating me?" He looked like a tomato. "No, I wasn't! That was... Uh..." She freaked out and started crying. "It's okay Yashiro." I patted her back.
"I guess it's my turn, then!" Kou announced. "See? He isn't even bothered, Daikon." I smile. "Sure, knock yourself out." Mr. Tsuchigomori said. "Okay. I, um... I hate festival masks! They terrify me!" Kou admitted. "Next! That doesn't even count." The professor waved it off. "What?! It's humiliating!" Kou yelled. Yashiro and Nene groan. "I guess it's my turn," I mumbled. "My mom gave me 1,000 dollars if I don't tell anyone that she went to the movies and a hotel with her personal fitness trainer," I told everyone. "That one isn't about you so, it doesn't count." Mr. Tsuchigomori declared. "Um... I have a phobia of spiders. I can't even look at pictures of spiders." I tried smiling.
"That doesn't count either." He shooed me off. I roll my eyes and joined Yashiro and Kou. "So basically our embarrassment isn't embarrassing enough," Yashiro asked. "Damn it Hanako you should have to tell him something, too!" Kou confessed. He goes over to Mr. Tsuchigomori and smirked. "Oh, my. You want to hear secrets about me?" Hanako asked.
"No thanks. But I do appreciate the offer." Mr. Tsuchigomori said. "I tried, but you heard him. He's not interested in my muddy past." Hanako said. I walk towards him and grab his hands. "He wanted ro hear from all of us, Hanako!" I shouted softly. "Yeah Hanako!" Kou and Yashiro yelled. "I see, I feel like it's more about you three being uncomfortably nosy," Hanako said. Kou and Yashiro grab his arm. "It's your turn." We yelled. His eyes widen and they let go. I was going to let go of his hands but he squeezed my hands. "Well, all right, but you only get one, okay?" He told us. I, uh... I love..." Hanako hesitated. "Say it!" Yashiro encouraged. "I love donuts. So much. That's it." He declared.
He got flustered and hugged me to cover his face even though he is taller than me. "Look what you did! You traumatized him!" Yashiro shouted. "Happy now? You jerk!" Kou asked. "Are you two that stupid?" The professor asked. "Nothing is good enough for him," I told Hanako. He sat down and I sat across from him. "Hanako? What's your favorite kind of donut?" Yashiro asked. "Normal one." He replied. "You mean plain?" Yashiro questioned.
"From where?" Kou asked. "Just homemade," Hanako said. "You know how to make donuts?!" I gasped. "That's so cool!" Yashiro commented. "You need to make donuts with me someday," I added. "Hey brats, it's over." Mr. Tsuchigomori told us. We got up and I could see the fear in Kou and Yashiro's eyes.
"We just lost track of time!" I tried to explain. "Please don't use the PA system!" Yashiro pleaded. He smirked and patted all of our heads. "I wouldn't do that. It was just part of a strategy." He started walking away. "Obviously it failed." He added. "But perhaps what I saw was worth more than what was said." He turns on a lamp and the bookshelf opened. I stepped back. "Follow me." Mr. Tsuchigomori ordered. "Looks like I owe you my Yorishiro." He told me.
"But, I'm only letting one of you beyond the point." Mr. Tsuchigomori told us. "And that's one of the priestesses who will destroy the Yorishiro." He said. "Priestesses?" Yashiro repeated. "He means my assistants!" He hugs me from the side. "That's a whole bag of no, dude!" Kou yelled. "Yeah, Yashiro isn't going!" I shouted. "Not you either Y/N. It is too dangerous-" His mouth gets covered by Mr. Tsuchigomori. He picks Kou up and acts as nothing happened.
"So what do you say, Number Seven?" Mr. Tsuchigomori asked. He held me protectively as he tried to decide. "After all this time, don't you know you can trust me?" He implored. He grunted and lightly pushed me towards the spider man. "You have a point," Hanako said. "Hanako, I hate spiders!" I yelled. "Take good care of Y/N for me. Make sure she doesn't get hurt." He warned. The bookshelf started to close. "Thank you, Mr. Tsuchigomori," Hanako added. "Please be safe Y/N-Chan!" Yashiro shouted. "You got it." Mr. Tsuchigomori replied.
We started walking to the Yorishiro and I kept my guard up. Every spider I saw crawling around I reacted by making an 'Eep!' sound. "So, uh... How are things going with him?" Mr. Tsuchigomori asked. "W-Who?" I stuttered. "Number Seven. Working together. Everything alright?" He answered. "Oh, I think it's fun hanging out with him. He does tease me sometimes and is a little perverted but he makes me feel safe and happy." I replied.
"Do you think of him as a friend?" Mr. Tsuchigomori questioned. "Sort of. I don't want to be his friend. I want to be more than that." I replied. "I see. That's all right, then." He whispered. 'Is he concerned about Hanako, or just keeping up with the Hanako?' I thought. "I heard you can save the Yorishiro even when you break it. Is that true?" He asked. "Yeah," I replied. "Mr. Tsuchigomori? May I ask you a question?" I asked. "Yes you can, Y/N. Go ahead." He replied. "Can you change things in the books in the Four O'clock Liberty?" I asked. "At least the things in the future?"
"No. It's basically impossible to change." Mr. Tsuchigomori told me. I shrugged. "I was curious," I added. "I've seen it once though." He said. "Really?" I smiled. "Yeah." He opened the door and let me through. "So are you half spider or three-fourths?" I asked. "I don't know how to respond to that." He said. "You don't have to be scared of me though. Hanako would kill me if you got hurt." He added. "Aren't you already dead?" I asked. "I am. But he wouldn't hesitate to kill me again. Or at least make my afterlife a living hell." He explained to me.
I look at the room and I gasped. "These are so pretty!" I looked at all the gems. "Is this the deep part of the Boundary?" I asked while admiring the jewels. "These are so pretty Mr. Tsuchigomori! Is any of these your Yorishiro?" I implored. "No. This one is mine." He puts the rock down and I pick it up. "What type of gem is this?" I questioned. He sat in a chair next to a desk. "It's a rock. As I said before, I once witnessed a human change in the future that had been written in the book of his life, and he is the one who gave this to me. I believe it's a moon rock." He explained.
"Really?! That's so cool!" I gasped. "So who was this person? When did you get this?" I sat on top of the desk. "It was during the time when humans first traveled to the moon. I was given that rock the day after that historic date." He told me. "So were they an astronaut?" I asked. "That would have been nice. He wasn't though. He was just an ordinary human on the outside looking in. He had a hard time making friends, so he connected with the stars. He was smart, but... His grades weren't proof. Anyways, you know how to destroy a Yorishiro?"
"If you don't mind me asking, what did he want to change in his future and why?" I asked. "I guess in theory I could... Let's go. I'll day more than I ought to if we stay here much longer." He suggested. "Alright." I pull the seal and the Boundary started to break. I close my eyes before I
