*As the players left the basketball court, and headed towards the locker rooms, Houssam sprinted ahead of everyone, his heart pounding in his chest. It was time. He had been so distracted, that he was surprised Coach hadn't pulled him out of the game! He rushed to his locker, pulled on a clean jersey so he wouldn't overwhelm Hana with his odor, pulled on his jacket, and took out the box that held her ring. He opened it, and stared down at the ring, smiling. Originally, he had picked out a diamond ring that was almost eight carats, and cost well into the millions. But, as Yusra had reminded him, Hana wasn't really materialistic, and would probably be horrified if he gave her a ring like that! So he had gone with a much smaller one. It had one large diamond in the middle, and two smaller diamonds on either side. The band was encrusted with tiny diamonds as well, and it matched Hana's personality perfectly. Engraved in the band were the words 'dearest heart', with two tiny hearts entertwined with one another. Even he had to admit that it was beautiful. He tucked the box into his pocket, and went back out, waiting in the shadows for his cue to go back into the arena. He had been in such a panic with everything, that in all honesty, Harold had taken care of most of the details. But no matter how nervous he was, Harold wouldn't be able to do this for him.*

Freddy: *coming up behind Houssam and clapping him on his back, a giant grin on his face* are you ready Houssam?

Houssam: *laughing* yes I am Freddy.

Freddy: You're going to be great man! Try not to let your brain get in the way, just lead with your heart!

Houssam: *running a hand through his hair anxiously* thanks man. *everyone was on board with this except for Hana. Even all of the players on the other team had been excited to let half time extend a little bit to let Houssam do this.* I'll try. What if she says no?!

Freddy: *shaking his head* she won't In Sha Allah!

*suddenly Coach, Harold, Joanna (the head of his PR team), and all of the members on his team were standing around him.*

Houssam: What's going on?

Harold: *grinning* I think we all need to take a moment and pray for Shaykh here before he goes out there and makes fool of himself.

Coach: *raising his water bottle in the air* here here!

Houssam: *scowling at them* that isn't helping me!

Harold: I am just teasing you son. We are all so proud of you, and support you one hundred and twenty percent!

Coach: Do you have the ring?

Houssam: *pulling the box out of his pocket* yup.

Joanna: Can we see it?

*Houssam opens the box, and everyone begins to gasp and shield their eyes*

Grant: Oh! My eyes!

Smith: I'm blind!

Joanna: *whistling* if she doesn't say yes, can I have it?

Freddy: *laughing* leave him alone you guys!

Coach: *slapping Houssam on the back* we will all be watching from here for moral support!

Houssam: Thanks Coach.

Coach: Can I give you one piece of advice to make things easier from someone who has been married for thirty years?

Houssam: *nodding* of course.

Coach: Try not to throw up.

Houssam: *sarcastically* Gee, thanks.

*suddenly they heard the announcer saying Houssam's name, and they all grinned at him, starting to pat him on the shoulder and back*

Freddy: *shouting after him* GO GET HER SHAYKH!

As Houssam jogged backed out onto the court, the audience roared with applause, and he felt his nervousness increase tenfold. He glanced briefly up into the stands, his heart pounding even faster as he spotted Hana looking at him, her face flushed with pleasure, and her smile wide.*

Liam (the announcer): *walking over to a huge container that was filled with half ticket stubs. That had been tricky giving every single person in the arena half a stub, but it had to be done to keep the ruse up.* Now, I am going to pick one ticket at random, and whoever is sitting in that seat, it will be their lucky day! *he begins to rifle through the tickets, a drum roll rang throughout the stadium, and for a second, Houssam realized why Coach had warned him not throw up. He was seriously on the verge of losing his lunch! Liam picked out a ticket stub 'at random', which was a total lie as Hana's ticket was the only one in the entire container that was pink so it would be easier for Liam to find, and held it up in the air for dramatic effect, before looking at it.* Would whoever is sitting in row A, seat fifteen, please come on down!?

*As a murmur of excitement followed by a sigh of disappointment went through the crowd, it took everything in Houssam's power not to look at Hana. Eventually he heard Ilham shrieking right on cue.

Ilham: *squealing quite loudly* Oh my God! Hana! Hana that's you!

*Houssam rolled his eyes at his cousin. She didn't need to make her voice carry over the entire stadium, but in typical Ilham fashion, she had to be the center of attention. Houssam looked up at Hana who was staring in disbelief at Ilham, shaking her head furiously*

Houssam: *whispering to Liam* put her on the screen.

*Liam nodded, and whispered something into his earpiece, and soon Hana's gorgeous face was on the big screen, and her mouth was dropped open in disbelief. Ilham was trying to pull her out of her seat, but she was resisting, covering her face.*

Houssam: *whispering to Liam excitedly* get her down here!

Liam: *into the microphone* Come on down honey! *when Hana still remained there shell shocked, both Liam and Houssam laughed.* It seems we have a shy one! Let's all try to get her down here by a round of applause!

*the crowd began to whistle and scream and stomp their feet, and eventually Hisham gave Hana a push. After a few seconds, she made her way down towards the courts in a daze. As she finally made it next to Houssam, he gave her a huge grin, resisting the urge to hug her.*

Houssam: *yelling over the crowd, and trying to feign shock* What are the chances!?

Hana: *smiling nervously, and shouting back at him* I'm not really good at basketball.

Houssam: *laughing* You just have to make two shots. You can do it!

Liam: *stepping forward and putting the microphone in front of Hana's face.* Now, what is your name hon?

Hana: *clearing her throat a bit nervously* Um, Hana.

Liam: Well Hannah! *Houssam rolled his eyes at that. Liam was really getting into this! He knew very well that her name was Hana!* The rules are very simple. Houssam is going to make two free throw shots. All you have to do, is match, or beat however many he makes, and you will win tickets to the Knicks for next season!

Hana: *leaning towards Houssam and whispering.* Houssam, maybe Hisham should come down and do this?

*Houssam shook his head, and took the ball in his hands. For a second, he just stared blankly at it. How the heck was he supposed to hold this ball?! OH MY GOD! HE FORGOT HOW TO SHOOT! Good Lord was the basket MOVING?! Had he always been this far off of the ground?! Ya Allah he was going to throw up everywhere! After another few terrifying seconds of believing that he had forgotten everything he had ever known, he bounced the ball, before shooting it, and it sunk into the basket. He shot it a second time, and as it went through as well, the crowd cheered, and Hana nervously took the ball from him as he extended it towards her*

Houssam: *trying to sound cheerful even though he wished he could lay down* You're up!

*she turned towards the net, and he could tell how nervous she was. She stared at the ball in confusion for a few seconds as if she didn't know what to do with it, but eventually she dribbled it a few times, before throwing it, and as it went in, Houssam threw his hands up in the air, leading the fans in another ear bursting scream.*

Liam: Beautiful shot Hannah! You just have to make this next one to win your prize!

*As Houssam handed the ball back to Hana, he winked at her before smiling reassuringly, and she turned back towards the basket. As soon as the ball left her hands, he fumbled into his pocket for the ring box, and sunk down onto one knee, shaking so hard he felt like he was going to fall over.*

*Ilham was the first one to start screaming. He would recognize her high pitched voice anywhere. Eventually his sister joined in, and he could hear Freddy as well, but soon their voices were overwhelmed by the sound of the crowd, and even he was surprised by how loud they were. Within seconds they were on their feet, and he could see Hana start in surprise as she looked around at all of them. He waited anxiously for her to turn around and look at him, wanting nothing more than to see her reaction. He could feel Michael, the cameraman moving closer to them right as planned.*

Hana: Houssam! Why are they scream...*she trailed off as she turned around, and as her gaze landed on him, she gave a loud gasp, and took a step back. He smiled up at her, laughing slightly, and feeling his eyes begin to well up with tears. They remained in their positions, her eyes locked with his, until eventually Liam stepped forward.*

Liam: *booming loudly, and looking around the arena* Now this is a great surprise! I think we should let her hear what he has to say! Don't you? *As the audience roared again, Houssam took the microphone from Liam, his hands shaking.*

Houssam: *his voice trembling slightly* As a lot of you may not know...*suddenly the stadium fell quiet, everyone listening intently to him* I have been deeply in love for a very long time."

*At this the stadium exploded in whistles and shouts. So much for them falling quiet! Houssam laughed before holding up his hand for silence again.*

Houssam: I have been so deeply in love with this woman before me, that when she is near me, my heart feels as if it is on fire. I feel alive. I feel like nothing in the world can stop me with her by my side. I will spare all of you the details, but for a long time there were things that kept us apart. I wasn't sure that we would be able to be together. But then God, in his infinite wisdom and plan, brought her back to me, and I never ever want to let her go again. Sometimes I get a big head being famous...*everyone began to laugh at that, and Houssam looked up at Hana, feeling his heart jump as he realized she was crying* but she keeps me humble. She reminds me that I don't belong on a pedestal because of what I do for a living. But at the same time she has never made me feel that I couldn't belong on one because of who I am. In my eyes, she is already the highest there is, and if she lets me, I will spend forever trying to join her up there.

*A collective 'aw' rang through the room, and though Hana still looked surprise, she was smiling at him, laughing slightly.*

Houssam: *shouting into the microphone* Abu Hisham, do I have your permission to ask your daughter to marry me? *He had been worried about telling Abu Hisham about his plan, but Hana's dad had thought it was a wonderful idea, and had spent many hours on the phone with Harold planning things out.*

Abu Hisham: YES!

*everyone laughed again, and Houssam handed the microphone to Liam before opening the ring box*

Houssam: Hana? Will you do me the honor of being my wife?

*It was as if the fans collectively sucked up all of the air in the auditorium with their gasp of anticipation. At first Hana didn't move, and for a second, Houssam was scared that she would say no. But when she nodded her head, he let out a long sigh of relief, and there was no holding the fans back. Freddy was the first one to reach the two of them, followed by Harold and Coach, and soon Hana's family and Houssam's were on the court as well. As they all hugged each other, laughing and crying, the people in the stands got louder and louder, and it was as if they were celebrating the championship win.

*Which an hour later they did as well.*

*As confetti and balloons began to rain down over them, Freddy, Housasm, their Coach, and the rest of their teammates collided into a group hug, jumping up and down and screaming. Finally Coach stood up, and took the microphone.*

Coach: Ladies and gentlemen! It is my extreme honor, and privilege, to award the MVP pin to this great player and man tonight. I know all of you know who he is, so let's give a big round of applause, for HOUSSAM SHAYKH!

*As the crowd went wild again, Houssam jogged over to where Coach was standing next to the camera, his face beaming. As he gave Houssam the pin, he pulled him into a hug, before turning so the two of them were looking into the camera. One of the reporters, Phillip, stepped forward, extending a microphone towards Houssam.*

Phillip: Amazing game today Shaykh! Congratulations for winning MVP yet again!

Houssam: Thank you so much Phil! It is an honor for me really to be playing with so many amazing players. I couldn't have done it without them!

Phillip: So, usually you try to keep your private life, well, private, but today we all got to witness a very intimate moment for you. How did that feel.

Houssam: There are no words honestly. *laughing* I don't think it has sunk in all the way yet, but I will tell you that I am over the moon. There are no words to describe how I am feeling right now.

Phillip: Do you attribute winning the championship to her?

Houssam: *nodding* for sure. Just being able to look out into the stands and see her beautiful face, really helped me push myself to win.

Phillip: Were you showing off? Just a little bit?

Houssam: *putting up his hands and laughing* maybe just a bit! But could you blame me!? You saw her!

Phillip: *laughing* true! Now that you have won MVP again, what do you have to say to your fans?

Houssam: *looking into the camera* I really appreciate the support and love from all of you! I may have one MVP this time, but all of you out there who have faith in me, are the real MVP's!

Phillip: And what is one last thing you want the world to know about your fiancee?

Houssam: Everything I will ever do for the rest of my life is for that woman. She is my rock, my heart, my soul, and not a minute will go by when I won't thank God for her. So you see this pin right here? *he holds up the pin towards the camera* This is for you Hana! This is for you dearest!
