Hong Jisoo/Joshua

Kinda sad, kinda fluffy wuffy woo

Your name: Jiseung

.

'Why didn't you say goodbye?'

. . .

2013

"But, you told me you'd help me study." You whine to your best friend, Jisoo. Or Joshua, as he'd told you to call him that. You had been friends since a very young age, and were inseparable, but your argued sometimes.

He sighs in annoyance with a harsh look on his face, "I'm busy tonight, so I can't. I'm sorry, I'm helping my parents with something."

You pout, laying down on the bed you were sat on and moving onto your side, facing away from the boy next to you. Joshua then notices your actions and his expression softens, shuffling closer to your body. You feel the bed dip behind you and a pair of arms wrap around your waist- you two were very comfortable with each other, but it made you feel weird, in a good way though.

"I'm sorry, Jiseung." He whispers into your ear, his head buried into the crook of your neck. You turn onto your other side, looking at Joshua with a soft smile. He smiles back, holding you tighter.

You lift a hand up and stroke his hair soothingly, "I should get going soon. It's always nice hanging out with you."

He chuckles as you slip out of his grip and stand up next to the bed, slipping into your shoes. He sits up with a cute pout on his face, making you chortle at him.

"See you tomorrow, Joshua." You wave to him, walking out of his room and down the stairs, exiting his house and walking home.

the next day

It was the end of school and you hadn't seen Joshua all day, which led you to being immensely confused and suspicious. He always attended school, even when he was sick, for a weird reason.

You walk out of the school gates alone, not hearing the familiar voice of your best friend beside you. You decide to walk to his house, wondering what was the matter. Was it because he was still helping his parents with something? Was he so sick that he didn't have the strength to come to school? And the weird thing to you was that he had never texted you to say 'good morning' or just a simple 'hi', like he always does.

After a few minutes of walking along streets, you reach the front of Joshua's house. Walking up onto the front porch, you know on the white door, expecting Joshua to answer. Instead, his mum answers.

"Oh, Jiseung. What are you doing here?" She asks with confusion in her tone, a small smile on her face.

"Is Joshua in?" You ask, your hands placed in front of you, clamped together.

Her smile is then replaced by a look of surprise, "He didn't tell you?"

Then you are the one surprised, "What didn't he tell me?"

"He's moved to South Korea to become a singer. I would have thought he had told you, as you are his best friend."

You freeze, not being able to comprehend what she had just told you. You were too confused and slightly angered to do anything. You thank her before walking home. You felt like crying, but you couldn't. You were unable to.

You reach your house and enter, walking to your bedroom. Thoughts clouding your head, you fall the ground. You felt physically weak.

Now you knew why he didn't study with you. He was packing for his trip. You look up at your bedside table, looking at the framed photo of you and Joshua when you went to Disney World.

"Oh, Joshua. Why? Why...?" You whisper, your voice cracking and a single tear rolling down your cheek. In a matter of moments, you form into a bawling mess, curling up into a ball in the middle of the floor.

2016

"We're sending you to South Korea. You seem to know the language pretty well and the company is looking for the best make-up artist for their idols." You manager informs you, making you nod in reply.

"When am I going?" You ask. He looks at something on his computer in front of him on the desk, looking back at you after a while.

"Your flight is tomorrow at 1pm. Don't miss it." He says, "I'll text you the rest of the details. Here is you ticket." He places a piece of paper in front of you on the desk, your hand moving towards the ticket and picking it up.

"Thank you. I won't miss it." You stand up from the chair and exit his office, a big smile on your face.

'What if I see Joshua again?' You think to yourself, getting excited about the thought and exiting the building, rushing to your car and driving home to pack your bags.

the next day

You wake up at 10am the next morning, getting straight up and getting ready, which was very rare. You shower and get out after you were finished, walking back to your room and picking out your outfit for the day while your hair dried naturally.

You were finally done after an hour of checking you had everything, making sure your outfit was okay and your hair was decent.

You then call a taxi and wait by the front door for it to arrive. A long 5 minutes later, the taxi arrives, making you rush out of the door and put your luggage in the boot (basically the trunk of the car if you're not british) with the help of the driver. You thank him and climb into the passenger seat, telling the driver where to go.

On the way there, you look back on all of the memories you share with Joshua, even the tiniest ones. The memory of when he left came to your head and you were suddenly thinking negative, all of the petty arguments you had which hurt your heart.

After 30 minutes, you arrive at the airport and pay the driver, getting out and walking in. You go through security and baggage check, seeing that you had wasted an hour doing so. You rush to the aeroplane as your flight was at 1pm and it was now 12:42pm. You didn't want to miss your flight at all.

after the flight

You had slept the whole journey to South Korea, waking up just in time for landing. You smile as the plane touches the ground and stops, grabbing your hand luggage and rushing out of the plane when the doors open.

You look around at your surroundings, seeing a poster on the wall with 'Seventeen' written on it. You then see some more people, a group of 5, sticking them up and running around the airport, smiling and laughing with each other.

"We have to get it ready! Come on, guys." You hear a voice say, and then in English, "Vernon, we have to get back to the dorm. I have to call my mum."

You could recognise that voice from anywhere. Joshua was here? A boy turns around quickly, familiar features of the boy who left you.

He looked so different. His hair shaved at the sides and a slight quiff. His face and figure looks slimmer than last time, his eyes not as dark as before.

You jaw drops, watching him walk in your direction. He smiles and looks down as a very tall boy runs up to him and slings an arm around his shoulders, Joshua looking up again and around the airport.

He looks around for a bit before his gaze lands on you. He furrows his eyebrows and squints his eyes, his neck craning forward slightly. His eyes widen when he realises you're real, and tears come to his eyes straight away. The boy asks what's up, but Joshua doesn't give a reply.

You were frozen, your breathing hitched in your throat. You feel the hot tears flow down your red cheeks, your mouth closing as your lips quivers.

You feel like fainting, running away from the boy that you have been longing to see, but you are rooted to the spot.

He then rips away from the boys grip and sprints up to you at a high speed, embracing you when he reaches your figure.

You wrap your arms around him in return and cry into his shoulder, sobs escaping your mouth.

You stay like this for about 10 minutes before Joshua speaks up. "I am so sorry, Jiseung. I am so, so sorry. I feel so bad for not telling you, I feel so guilty. I'm sorry my mum had to tell you instead of me. I should have, but I didn't have the guts because I was scared I would hurt you. And I know I hurt you badly, my mum told me how you looked so betrayed. Please, please forgive me, Jiseung."

You look up to see him bawling his eyes out, his eyes red and puffy. You pull your sweater sleeve over your hand and bring it up to his face, wiping away his tears.

You chuckle weakly, "Joshua, I forgave you a long, long time ago."

He rests his arms around your waist while a sad smile remains on his face. His eyes were burning into yours, a hint of something in his eyes. A look of want, a look of need or lust. You couldn't quite identify it, all you knew was that he was leaning in closer, your faces inches apart.

You close your eyes as you feel his lips on top of yours, making you feel excited as a weird feeling erupts in your stomach. You felt more tears fall from his eyes as your lips move together, Joshua pulling you in tighter.

You never knew you would be kissing your best friend, but you absolutely loved it. He pulls away, his forehead against yours.

"I've been needing to do that for almost 8 years." He whispers, looking into your big orbs.

You chuckle and look down, "I have been, too."

"I promise I will never leave you again."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"You swear?"

"I swear down, I will never leave your side again. Now, Jiseung, will you be my mine?"

"Oh fuck yes."
