THIRTY-SEVEN
OLLIE

"Can't sleep?" I turn my head to see Lilah walking outside. She takes a seat next to me and rests her head on my shoulder.

"It's crazy you know. I have nightmares about that night but not about me nearly falling to my death but about the fear that was on yours and Greyson's face — the thought of leaving the two of you behind haunts me."

I sniffle, wiping my eyes.

It's playing over and over in my mind and I feel sick to my stomach thinking about what could of happened to me if I had never woken up a week ago.

As soon as my eyes opened in that hospital all I wanted to do was get on that plane and see my son and the love of my life but I wasn't allowed to leave.

Seeing Lilah collapse in front of me that day I saw her for the first time in months almost gave me a heart attack and I felt instant regret in telling Nasir to not tell her that I was awake. It was incredibly stupid of me and I'm going to kick myself for a very long time.

"It was scary but we're safe now." She tells me, placing a soft kiss on my bare shoulder. "I love you so, so much!" She laughs lightly and I can't help but melt into her warm embrace as she wraps her arms around mine.

"You promise to love me forever?" I can't help but feel vulnerable — worried that at any moment we could be ripped away from each other.

"Ollie, you're the love of my life. Of course I'm going to love you for forever and more." I begin to laugh when she peppers kisses all over my face. "Do you promise?" She throws the question back at me and I don't hesitate to answer.

"Without a doubt, beautiful." I place a soft kiss on her lips and we continue to sit in a comfortable silence until I hear the sound of small feet pattering across the floor.

"Hey, baby." Lilah coos and beckons Greyson over.

He tiredly rubs his eyes before shuffling over to her and situating himself on her lap. I can see he struggles to get comfortable because of Lilah's bump so I take him from her.

"You couldn't sleep?" I question and he shakes his head, burying his cheek into my chest.

"I just want to be with you and mummy." He whispers before he yawns and I start to run my fingers through his hair until he falls asleep.

"This is perfect you know." I say quietly and I feel Lilah's stare on the side of my face. "This very moment. Our little family."

"Mmm." Lilah hums and continues to rest her head on my shoulder. I put my free arm around her and pull her closer to my body, cuddling the two bodies close to my own.

I kiss both of their foreheads and I can't help but chuckle lightly when Lilah also falls asleep.

The tension is very thick right now as Nasir walks into our home with a huge bouquet of flowers. It's taken him a whole month to build the courage to fly out here because of the last conversation he had with Lilah.

Even though I explained to Lilah that it was my decision for him not to say anything she didn't agree, saying how I was unconscious and that Nasir should have been honest anyway because if I had died then what would he have done.

"I hear we've got a wedding to plan." Nasir releases a nervous chuckle as his eyes alternate between Lilah and I.

I look down at my girl and I have to hold back my laugh when I see her try to glare at Nasir but she just looks adorable instead.

"I'm so mad at you, Nasir." She says in a low voice and he bites his lip and gives me a pleading look as to ask for help — I just shrug my shoulders.

"I apologise for the inconvenience, Lilah. I don't know why I chose to take orders from this idiot when you were stressed enough as it is. Do you forgive me?" He apologises and walks over to hand her the bouquet of flowers.

"Fine." She huffs and takes the flowers from him.

Nasir smiles and pulls her into a hug.

"Can't be mad at me for too long." He pulls back and winks.

"Shut up or I'll get mad again." Lilah warns him and I watch in amusement as he holds his arms up in defence.

"You know what, the vibes in this country are amazing. I might move out here with you." Nasir says and I groan at the thought.

"Well you can go and live on the other side of the island." Lilah retorts but she has a smile on her face. Nasir chuckles and shakes his head lightly.

"Hmm, well I know I'd come in handy if you need babysitting duties for you know what." He smirks and I grab the flowers from Lilah and throw them at his head. "Hey! Show your elders some respect." He scoffs, playfully rolling his eyes.

We watch in amusement as he wanders off to look for Grey while plucking flower petals out of his hair.

I turn my full attention onto my girl and I go to compliment her but hear the sound of water hitting the floor.

"Please, I told Greyson to keep his buckets of water outside." I groan getting ready to go and tell him off but I feel Lilah grab hold of my hand.

I look at her in concern and see that she's staring at the ground.

My eyes widen at the puddle of water and she looks up at me and gives me a sheepish smile.

"She's not due for another three weeks." I whisper and feel myself begin to panic.

"Greyson is — woah, Lilah, did you not get to the toilet on time." Nasir walks in and pauses at the sight of Lilah and I. "Oh shit!" Realisation hits him.

"Did mummy wee herself?" Greyson walks in and stands behind Nasirs legs, looking at the puddle of water with a concerned look etched onto his small face.

I look at Lilah and she looks at me.

We both burst out laughing.
