"(Y/N)! You idiot! You listen to me when I'm talking to you!" A voice called behind you as you walked away.

"I'd rather not! I'd rather die again than hear your voice!" You screamed back, knowing that you just crossed the line and you didn't care.

You felt the tension in the air get so thick you could cut it. You just started walking faster. Something flew past your face, just grazing your ear. It hit the floor with a 'Smash!' You knew it was a bottle, or maybe a pair of keys?

"Get back here right now, dumbass!"

You immediately stopped in your tracks. Turning to face the owner of the voice, you glared. "Excuse me?"

"What? Hit a sore spot?" A girl with long black hair that just passed her mid-back, pale skin, black eyes, and freckles asked you, putting a hand on her hip.

You clenched your fists and slowly walked up to her. Stopping a few feet away from her, not trusting yourself to not hit this girl so hard it gave her brain damage. "Shut the HELL up, Gabi."

"Why should I?"

"Because. . ." You took a breath, trying to calm yourself down. "I will kick you so hard in the private area that you wont be able to have kids when you get older. . . If you live that long,"

"Aw! Are you trying to threaten me?" Gabi asked sarcastically. "Well, hon, you're going to have to try harder than that-"

You flung a hand out and pushed her chest, slamming her against the wall. You were satisfied when you heard the sound of her head hitting the wall and a whimper. Drawing your hand back, you were about to leave, but something wrapped around your wrist and threw you to the floor.

"DON'T F***ING MESS WITH ME, (Y/N)!" Gabi yelled from on top of you, she pinned your hands above your head. Gaining your senses back, you brought your knee up and kneed her in the back as hard as you could. You rolled onto your side and pushed off the floor, ending on top of Gabi. Using your feet, you pinned her legs down by her ankles and her hands at her side.

"Oh. Were you trying to win?" You asked sarcastically.

Gabi squirmed under you, craning her neck to try and bite you. You slid her hands along the floor, bringing them above her head, and holding them with one hand. Your other hand was too busy punching her in the nose. You got a few good swings in. For good measure, you threw your fist at the side of her head, knocking her out. And shuck that hurt. You defiantly broke a few knuckles. You slowly got off Gabi, catching your breath, and trying to figure out what you were going to tell security guards.

You woke up clenching your fists. You could not believe her! She thought she was all that just because her parents worked for WCKD. If she knew who your mother was, she'd be on her knees begging for forgiveness. You never actually told anyone about your. . . guardian (You still refuse to call that slob "mother"). If you had a say in anything, this whole ordeal would have been shut down a long time ago. Hell, it wouldn't have started. But, no one listens to you.

"Hey, Beauty Queen!" You turned to see Minho doing some sort of stretches.

"Sup, shuck face?" You answered.

Minho put a hand over his heart and gave you an offended look. "I am truly hurt, (Y/N). You wound me,"

"Come on, Minho!" Newt called from one of the doors, Thomas stretching beside him. You couldn't keep track of which direction is North, South, East or West. How do they do it? You honestly had no idea.

"Coming!" Minho looked over his shoulder at you as he jogged away and winked at you. You jokingly put on a seductive grin and waved at him. You saw Newt out of the corner of your eye. You almost laughed at his jealous expression.

He made it so obvious that he liked you. But no one but you seemed to notice.

"(Y/N)!" Was your ownly warning before a child was hanging on your shoulders. A laugh rang out from above you and you could help but join.

"Morning, River," You giggled. "You hungry?"

"No. Frypan gave me food! He told me to come and get you,"

You laughed. He hasn't changed has he?  You thought to yourself.

You brought your knees to your chest and leaned forward, causing you to lean on your feet in a crouching position. You stood up and pulled River with you on your shoulders and grabbed her legs, giving her a piggy-back ride. You walked to the kitchen and let River hop off your back before going to get some food.

"Hey, Fry," You stood at the door to the kitchen, leaning on the frame. River appeared beside you.

"Hi, Fry!" She exclaimed, run in and standing next to him.

"Hey," Fry said with a laugh. "Hey, (Y/N),"

"What's for breakfast? I'm starving," You complained.

"Eggs, bacon, burnt toast. What else?"

River ran out of the kitchen, spinning and dancing while laughing to herself. You and Fry watched her.

"How could someone be so happy in such a cruel world?" You thought out loud. Fry was quiet for a while. The response you got from him was a grunt and a shrug.

"You know they haven't found anything yet, right?" Your face darkened at Fry's words. Even though he used the word 'yet' the situation was still depressing. The feeling of being enclosed made you want to scream. Frustration was a bad feeling. It was what drove you mad in the first place. Other then loneliness and sadness.

"Depression is not what I need right now," You said, trying to lighten the mood. "I need my burnt toast or I'm gonna die,"

"Order up!" Frypan announced. River ran over to the closest table and sat down. You sat down next to her and placed her food down in front of her as you shoveled a forkful of eggs into your mouth. Fry came out with a plate of his own and sat with the two of you. You chatted a while, about random topics. Nothing in general. Soon, the three of you were finished with your food. You helped Frypan clean while River played with her markers, drawing little doodles of nothing on a napkin.

"Hey, Fry?" You asked.

"Hm?" Fry responded.

"Do you still think the Deadheads are here?"

"Probably. I mean, what would WCKD want with dead people?"

"More then you would think," You said, finishing drying the last fork and stacking it neatly with the others. "I'm gonna go see them for myself. I've never actually been there, as y'know,"

"Yeah. It's the quietest place in the Glade,"

"So I've heard. Whelp. I'm going exploring," You turned out of the kitchen, waving a hand at Fry. "Watch over River for me?"

"Do I look like a babysitter to you?"

"Well, you can cook and she likes you,"

Fry made a face like he didn't want to agree but he couldn't disagree. "Stop making points I can't disagree with!"

"See you later," You called as you ran in the direction of the Deadheads.

"Bye, (Y/N)!" River waved.

You ran through the woods, hair flying behind you. Sometimes, running felt good. It gave you a free feeling in a contained place.

It gave you the feeling of hope. . .

In a hopeless place.
