I lost all track of time as I lay there in agony. Why hadn’t anyone come looking for me?I sensed a change in the burning, and then slowly the burning seemed to retract from my fingers and toes. The difference was so extremely small that I could hardly tell it was there. But sure enough the difference slowly became larger. Soon my hands and my feet were free, then my legs and arms. Every centimeter that the burning retracted the fire in my heart intensified. The burning kept retreating until it only remained in my heart.
