tool houses my animagus' soul; it can't be removed. I'll have to explain the rest later. We have creatures to find and I'm pretty sure I know where to start."

Mr. Kowalski didn't know what the two friends were talking about, but he quickly picked up on the fact that Rose didn't want to linger on the subject of her necklace any longer. "The zoo, right?" the Muggle asked. "Precisely! It's the only place a lion could escape from and roam the streets freely. And I'm thinking our creature set him free by accident," Rose gave a smile, covering up her distress, "Let's get moving."

Mr. Kowalski took the lead, knowing where they should be heading. Newt picked up his case as he came up beside Rose, still bothered about the Time Turner. "Why didn't you trust me with knowing about your other necklace?" Newt asked. "Dumbledore told me not to tell anyone, so I didn't. Besides, there's more to Horatia than just her soul being sealed in a Time Turner that doesn't work. As I said, I'll explain later. But when I do, I need you to have a very open mind," Rose huffed.

"But why didn't you trust me? Especially after I found out about your animagus?" Newt pressed. Rose smoothly turned, gripping Newt by the arms and bringing their faces so close that he thought that she was going to kiss him. He had momentarily forgot that they were in the middle of an argument; his face flushing pink as his heart began to pound away in his chest. He missed this feeling. But Rose's deep blue eyes bore into his as she dug her nails into his arm through his coat. "Why did you lie to me about hurting you that day she took over?" Rose lowly asked.

She wasn't mad. No, she was void of any emotion; something Newt had only seen when they had been dueling back in Pr. Merrythought's class so many years ago. But when had she remembered that she had hurt him, in the exact same spot she was gripping? His hesitation had confirmed her worries, "I did hurt you... why did you lie?" Newt didn't hesitate with his answer this time, "So you wouldn't worry. So you would remain safe." "I guess we both have our answer," Rose sighed, letting her grip slack before following after Mr. Kowalski.

"Wait!" Newt trotted after the woman, "You said you'd explain later, so there's more. Why can't you tell me now?" "There's too much to explain and we don't have time to chat about it now," Rose simply answered. "Rose, why don't you trust me?" Newt huffed. Rose quickly turned to her friend, ending up a lot closer than she had thought she had been, but smoothly grabbed the front of his shirt to pull him down to meet his lips in a short searing kiss.

Newt had been breath taken, again momentarily forgetting that they were in the midst of arguing. His mind had barely comprehended that she was kissing him; and by the time he came to his senses to kiss back she had pulled away. Her eyes were brimming with untouched tears as she barely spoke above a whisper, "I do trust you. You're the one person in all the world I trust more than anyone... You and Dumbledore are the only people I trust. All I ask is that you trust me as much as I trust you. I will tell you the rest of my story, I promise I will... but only for as long as you trust me."

It wasn't until that moment Newt realized she hadn't told him about her Time Tuner because she was frightened. It was the same fear she held against her animagus he had seen so many years ago. Back then he probably wouldn't have understood why; but sense he was older, he could see her fear clearly. Newt just nodded as he brought her close and kissed the top of her head fondly, "I trust you." Rose just smiled, "I promise I trust you." Newt just shushed her," I'm sorry." Rose just shook her head and let loose a giggle, "Don't be... We have your creatures to find."

Newt nodded, letting the subject drop for the time being, "Then let's get going." He had boldly taken her hand in his as he had led her after Mr. Kowalski, who was quite a ways ahead of them. Rose smirked, picking up her pace and out of Newt's grasp, "Race you!" Newt just chuckled as he gave into the woman's childish behavior. With that, they set back off upon their quest to retrieve Newt's creatures.

But one thought plagued Rose's mind that wouldn't be leaving anytime soon... She would be confessing to Newt that they were never meant to have met. That they were never meant to be friends, Hogwarts house mates, or to eventually fall in love. And for all that it was worth, Rose knew that they would have to walk away from each other; whether he would turn away from her in hatred or if she would have to run from him all over again. That was what broke her heart the most.
