How do people write personalities?

I'm crying, it's so hard.

Enjoy the product of my pain.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It took a moment for the ship to catch her eye.

When it did she blinked, then gripped the counter and swung her arm down to grab it from the floor. Her shirt rode up slightly revealing the tight fabric of her dress covering her ribs. Leo tried to focus on his ship.

He was about to turn away and pretend nothing even happened when she caught him staring at the figure. And at her.

The girl lifted his ship gently, and raised it towards him.

"You dropped this."

Leo just blinked. Once. twice. Before snapping back into reality and forming other thoughts than- mmmm. Cinnamon.

He took a deep breath, fighting a grin. She spoke to him first, so technically, no rules were being broken. Technically he hadn't approached her either. She had just shown up.

So he supposed he could give himself a free pass.

Just this once.

It was really all about interpretation.

"I'll take that refill, thanks." he murmured to the bartender, who was openly grinning right along with him, and who left quickly, moving away to the further drink counter, leaving Leo and the girl alone in this part of the bar.

Wingman bartender.

Leo leaned against the bar, pushing his hair back and reaching to pluck the ship from her palm.

"All part of the plan."

"The plan." The girl is not amused. It makes Leo grin wider.

"Ya know, drop my ship to catch the fair lady's attention. My handkerchief comes out next."

Just before he reaches the ship the girl closes her fist around it. Completely straight faced she says-

"I'll give it back when you swoon."

A short surprised laugh burst from Leos chest. He didn't even hesitate.  Dramatically, he stood and slightly leaned to the side, the back of his hand pressed to his forehead. Fluttering his eyelashes and stumbling, he invested in his performance.

He swooned like a master.

Satisfied, the girl took a step closer, begrudgingly amused by him, but somehow still annoyed. It was a combination that Leo often brought on. He liked it on her face the best.

Leo propped an elbow on the bar, reaching out for his ship which she dropped into his waiting hand. She didn't turn away though, and he didn't want her to.

She was even more beautiful up close.

"Did you make this yourself?" The girl stepped forward again and took a closer look at the ship he was currently unwinding.

"Yup." he pinched the brass in between his fingers.

"Impressive."

"Just a small extent of my overall awesomeness."

"I'm sure."

"Would you like to hear all about it? I've got a helicopter in my back pocket."

"Spare me."

"What about the train in my sock?"

She scoffed out a laugh and sat back down, lifting her drink. Leo's heart stopped for a moment as she moved away from him, but then she spoke again-

"Come here often?"

Internally fist-pumping, at her obvious attempt to continue conversation, Leo plopped down on his chair. Excitedly, he spun it around to face her. Just then, The Bartender returned. Delicately, he placed Leo's drink in front of him. The two men turned, one away from the girl, one towards her, both grinning like a mad men as Leo let his rule book burn.

I'm unsure about the ending because I wrote it, wrote it again, copied it to move it, accidently deleted it instead and my freaking computer died just as it happened.

You may think I'm lying, I just think I'm cursed.

So here's my third and best attempt at closing this chapter. I know they've all been fairly short but that how I like to read them so that's how I write them 🤷‍♀️

If people request longer than ill really try but don't expect like 342624784048 words because I would die.
