One Moon later

Wolfheart was laying in camp. His long fur was keeping him warm and the last sunbeams warmed his fur. The sun had begun to set and a cool breeze made the leaves in the threes rustle. The musty smell from the pines filled Wolfhearts nose and he took a deep breath. Wolfheart sat up when he saw Ashstar leave her den with Nighthawk right behind her. The ash colored leader seemed to be enjoying the good weather. Nighthawk didn't look as happy as his leader. It was a chillier day but it was still warm compared with how could it would get later in. Wolfheart saw how Nighthawk who had very short fur hissted something to Ashstar. Ashstar replied something. Wolfheart, who had long fur, walked up to his leader and deputy. He guessed that Nighthawk complained over the chillier weather.

- Leaf fall is on its way and it will get colder Nighthawk, that is how seasons work, Ashstar said to Nighthawk. Nighthawk looked irritated. On the other paw Nighthawk never looked truly happy; he always found something to be upset about.

- I must say that I enjoy leaf fall. It is always so hot during green leaves but I can't complain. Going to sleep with a full belly is something I enjoy, Wolfheart said. He was in quite a good mood today. Ashstar nooded when she heard his words, Nighthawk on the other paw didn't look quite as happy.

- You have long fur to keep you warm, I don't , Nighthawks said. Ashstar rolled her eyes when she heard these exact words. She would hear them every leaf fall until new leaf came.

- In any event, Wolfheart, you are coming to the gathering tonight, Ashstar said, puffing up her fur to keep some warmth. Wolfheart nooded when he heard the news. He enjoyed spending time with cats from other clans he had learned a lot that way.

- Thank you Ashstar you know I enjoy gatherings, he said lowering his head in a small bow. Ashstar gave him an appreciative nod. Nighthawk strolled over to the group who was leaving camp. The other cats where Grasswhisker and Beachpaw, Sheepcloud and Twilightpaw, Missinglow, Beestripe and Sageclaw. Wolfheart was about to walk up to the patrol when he felt Ashstar passing by. He looked at his leader for a moment. He respected her deeply and he did enjoy time in her company. She was a good leader. Wolfheart saw how the patrol started to move and waited for a split second before he started to sped up.

Wolfheart had soon catched up with the patrol and felt restrained by keeping such a slow speed. He had been in camp most of the day and needed to stretch his legs. Ashstar noticed him and gave him a brief nod. Wolfheart gave her a tankful look before raising past his leader and deeper into the forest.

When Wolfheart came through the bushes and saw the log he slowed down when he saw a dark red almost brown tom. He was trying to get up onto the log but his back leg collapsed under him. Wolfheart slowed down. He knew that the tom wouldn't like someone finding him like this. A strong scent of Thunderclan came from the tom. The tom rose once again and he was not even close to getting onto that log. Wolfhearts gaze flickered back at where he had come from. He felt bad for the tom so when he collapsed a third time and didn't get up from the ground where the dust was filling the air he walked out from the bushes.

The tom looked in his direktion and he had the most beautiful green eyes. Wolfheart saw something in those eyes. Something he knew far too well from his own experience. It was helplessness. He walked up to the tom who hadn't said a word.

- Do you need some help, he asked. Wolfhearts gaze didn't move from those beautiful green eyes. The tom didn't say anything but then he looked into Wolfhearts eyes and he nodded, looking so defeated.

So now they have met. I have seen that a few people actually have read the entire thing and that is truly amazing. Yes it was just 24 people last time I checked but for me that is amazing.
