Robinruner was in the very back of the cats who had gone to the gathering and he was alone. Or he was not completely alone. Pineclaw was walking next to him with an excited Falconpaw jumping up and down as they were making their way back home.

- And then we meet Elmepaw she is from Riverclan she was nice but when we had a jumping contest she lost against Criketpaw but it doesn't make any sense she is much older than Criketpaw and his jump wasn't even that high, Falconpaw when on telling his mentor everything he had done. Robinrunner knew this was a big day for the apprentice but he was still angry with Wolfheart, he could be with anyone he wanted. Hazelfire must have just wanted them to be more careful and he had caught the scent of Wolfheart so he didn't say what he wanted to say.

-Well Elmpaw is from Riverclan they don't hunt on land they hunt in the river where the prey can't run as far if its gone its gone and you can just find another we don't hunt like that and Criketpaw often needs to jump long and strong jumps to catch his prey Elmpaw don't, Pineclaw explained to his new apprentice. His friend had been over the moon happy when he became a mentor and Robinrunner helped with what he could. In Thunderclan he had never mentored any cat but he had helped when Hazelfire had mentored at a young age. Hazelfire had mentored Iwywish. That had been during the time Flowerbreze had been expecting their first litter. Iwywish had become a warrior not long before the kittens had been born and Hazlefire cared for them deeply. Robinrunner had been surprised that his friend had become a mentor so early but Shredstar said he was an excellent warrior and that Iwywish and her litter were the only kittens at the time and that he wanted Hazelfire to teach while he still was young and healthy. Robinrunner had helped with what he could and the days Hazlefire had been to busy with his mate he had trained Iwywish but he didn't complain he understood that his friend was caring for his mate and unborn kitts of course he would be nervous.

-Oh that makes sense and then we meet Maplepaw from Windclan. She was super fast but kinda small for being such an old apprentice, Falconpaw went on. Pineclaw let out a mrrr of laughter.

-Maplepaw is from Windclan they are small but don't underestimate them they are very strong cats, Pineclaw warned his new apprentice who nodded. Falconpaw took off faster than before, running in the wrong direction. Robinrunner could hear Pineclaw sigh next to him.

-I will go get him, Robinrunner meowed and Pineclaw nodded giving him an appreciative look. Robinrunner took off after the apprentice but far from as fast. He was wise enough to not waste any energy, at least not yet. When Robinrunner saw Falconpaws light brown tabby fur he slowed down.

-Falconpaw, he meowed with a stern voice. The apprentice turned around guilt filling his eyes. He didn't meet Robinrunners gaze instead he looked down on his paws.

-I'm sorry I didn't mean to just run off. I just wanted to get back to camp to tell Twilightpaw and Quailpaw about the gathering. Robinrunners gaze softened when he heard the apprentice's words. It had been an honest mistake and every cat made mistakes.

-Just don't do it again if you don't want Pineclaw to lose all of his fur in worry for you, he said to the young apprentice and laid his tail over the tom's shoulders.

-Okay, Falconpaw said and nodded. Robinrunner started to guide him back towards camp where Pineclaw was sitting with his tail wrapped around his paws'. When he saw Flaconpaw he shot up and ran to his apprentice.

-What did you think, just running off like that, don't you think the clan worried about you, he said, sounding furious. What Falconpaw didn't see was the relief in his mentor's eyes.

-Go and get something to eat Pineclaw I will make sure that Falconpaw will go to bed and nothing else, he meowed to his friend. Pineclaw nodded and gave Robinrunner an exhausted look before making his way to the fresh kill pile.

Robinrunner started to make his way over to the apprentices den with Falconpaw right behind him.

- Pineclaw care for you Falconpaw that is why he was so worried which led to him being angry with you but I want you to know that he isn't mad he was just upset because he care, he meowed to the young apprentice. Falconpaw nodded but a shadow off shame was still covering his face.

-You and the other apprentices can talk inside just stay there so Pineclaw can calm down, he meowed to the apprentice. Faclonpaw nodded before he walked into the den.

Robinrunner turned towards the other apprentices. It was late enough for him to get them to go to bed, especially Mintpaw and Sparkpaw as they were still very young even as apprentices.

-Okay you stayed up late time to go to bed, he meowed a little louder than he usually was. The apprentices stopped the conversation they had been having and looked up at him. Criketpaw, Twilightpaw, Beachpaw and Quailpaw were all about to nod their heads and make their way over to the den when Sparkpaw shook his head.

- No I don't want to, we were having a good time and I am not some kitt anymore, Flamepaw said and looked at Criketpaw who he had been talking with. Robinrunner didn't move .

- No you are not kittens anymore so you should know good enough to respect warriors as you said you are not kittens anymore so I shouldn't have to baby you, he said. Sparkapaw looked a little ashamed when he nodded and padded into the den. Robinrunner turned around to see Pineclaw talking with Missingglow. He shrugged before making his way into the warrior den. There he laid down and realised something. Wolfheart loved him. Robinrunner had been too tired to think more about it. He didn't know what he felt towards the big quiet tom but one thing was for sure and that was that this would be complicated.
