They needed to go. They had to leave. Take all their belongings and get the heck out of here. C/N Cookie could feel that he's back. The way their jam froze cold in their veins and a shiver ran down their spine in an unsettling way was all too familiar. So they immediatly started packing up.
Could they beat him? Probably. I mean, they've practiced their magic for years on end and would no longer need the Witches' help. But they just didn't want to deal with their crazy ex-partner.
Just as they walked around their dorm- which they had been generously given by King Elder Faerie Cookie, despite not being a Faerie themselves- they noticed a few magic objects on one of their desks. Stuff they've collected and used over time, to advance their skills or just for show. Crystals, vessels with potions, all the good things.
What caught C/N Cookie's eye however was a magic mirror. Not one from the fables like 'Oh mirror, tell me if there's anyone prettier than me because I'm so obsessed with my vanity and mimimimi...'
No, a mirror that could be used to spy on places far away and see it as if you're there. They hadn't used it much in the past... And yet, C/N Cookie felt oddly compelled to take it with them. The magician walked over to the desk and picked it up. Big mistake.
So first of all, once they looked into the mirror there was only a giant blue eye staring back at them. Bad.
Then the last Cookie they wanted to see popped out of nowhere and puppet strings wrapped around C/N Cookie so they were tied up. Even worse.
"Ah. C/N Cookie, my love. How refreshing to see you again." Shadow Milk Cookie laughed like a madman, which he is. He stepped closer and cupped their cheek, but they backed away at the contact. By the Witches, how long ago they've grown to be disgusted by his touch.
The magician had to restrain themselves from spitting into his face. "I can't believe you're back..." He grinned. "Aww, I missed you too." If they weren't tied up they'd punch him. Anything to violate this guy.
C/N Cookie glared at him. There was no fire glimmering in their eyes, just cold hatred. "What are you going to do?" They growled. "Torture me? Force me to take you back? Put me in the tree?"
The jester giggled. "Though I'm tempted to do all three, we'll have time for that later. No, no. You will be my prisoner." Shadow Milk Cookie smiled. "And once I've done my job here, you'll help me free the rest of my friends. I know you're powerful enough to do that, dearie."
He looked around the room, until his eyes landed on C/N Cookie's staff leaning against their bed. Reaching over to it, he mustered it in a disapproving way before a wide grin spread across his face and he made it disappear with a flick of the wrist.
"You can have that back when we need it. Which, will sadly have to wait until I've crumbled the majority of the Cookies here. But don't worry, I'll even let you watch! Come now."
In the next second, they had teleported from the magician's dorm right back to the Silver Tree, where Shadow Milk Cookie began to speak to the Cookies, whilst the H/C-ette was sitting far behind him.
Under different circumstances, C/N Cookie would've panicked and struggled. Only was it that their dumbass ex-boyfriend forgot they could use magic without their staff too and could easily get out of the strings with a snap of the finger. He's really let himself go all these years, forgetting such simplicities. But oh well, they suppose they could kick back and relax until he realizes that and gets the crumbs beaten out of him.
