Marjorie huffs again and turns to the three women, muttering under her breath. "What?.. what do you mean you're on the board of directors?" Marjorie squints as she puts her hands on her hips, Maeve moves back behind Charlotte. Covering herself from Marjorie. Both Autumn and Charlotte could see the look in Maeve's eyes as she hid. Fear.

"I've been on there for a while M-Marj..." Maeve stutters as she steps back. Although Maeve can stand up for herself, she felt so weak in that moment. Well her older sister was annoyed by the announcement, Marjorie felt threatened.

Charlotte and Autumn both exchange a shared look before interjecting within this interaction. Autumn knew how brutal Marjorie could be with her words sometimes, wondering how far would Marjorie go to make a point with her sister?
"Hey, how about we just calm down Marjorie?" Charlotte sweetly adds, trying to diffuse the tension. " Calm down? You're telling ME to CALM DOWN??? I've worked my goddamn fucking arse off for years. And YOU show up and get it all!" Marjorie's blood begins to boil as she wipes her forehead.

Autumn knew she'd have to intervene again soon before Marjorie boils over and flips her lid. Autumn takes Marjorie by the arm and guides her out of the office. The other women stood in the office, listening to Autumn's voice persistently remind Marjorie what she was doing was wrong and she should Apologise.

Charlotte's POV:
We both turn to the door and listen as Autumn grills Marjorie about her actions. I could understand Marjorie's frustration; I was promised to become deputy manager before Autumn came to work here, Roger had hired her, but now I couldn't look out for the staff as much as our Guard Dog looks out for us. On the other hand though I understood Maeve as well, she'd been on the board for ages and was only trying help out all the staff, being another manager available to turn to. I knew Maeve had good intentions, despite it being Roger who asked Maeve to take the position anyways.

As I continued to look at the door, I heard small sniffles behind me. I peer over my shoulder and see Maeve wiping tears from her eyes. "Hey.. it's okay mae...I'm here. I'm sure she didn't mean to flip out" I speak softly, not wanting to startle her.

I embrace her into a hug, running my hand down her back to soothe her. "Was it wrong for me to come back?" Maeve sniffles as she burrows her head into my chest. I feel so sorry for Maeve, I know she must be devastated that this was the reaction Marjorie had given her. "No, not at all. It was the right thing for you to come back; me and Mia are so glad you're back." I softly kissed the top of her head, for comfort of course.
I wasn't lying when I said me and Mia are glad she is back. I thought back to when me, Mia and Maeve would always hang around. I loved Maeve's company: she is such a sweetheart. And I knew Mia loved her company too, me and Maeve are the only two allowed to call her by her full name; Amelia.
Me and Mia had been dating now for a while, and every so often we feel something... I'm quite confused by it but somethings there between us three. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Maeve leans out of my embrace.

"Thank you lottie.... I needed that." She sweetly says and she returns back to leaning on the desk.
—————— 10 Minutes later ——————

As Maeve and Charlotte exchange conversation as they both hear the office door open, In walks Autumn neatening her shirt as Marjorie follows behind her. Eyes slightly red and puffy, as if she had been crying out there.

"I'm so sorry for the way I reacted Maeve. I'm just a bit frustrated that I didn't have the chance to make it on the board of directors.." Marjorie swallows as she looks up and down at Maeve. Autumn glares at Marjorie, " I'm truly sorry Maeve" she adds on giving Maeve a smile. "..it's okay you just startled me a bit, you reminded me of dad" Maeve winced at the thought her sisters actions were like their own dad.  Maeve never wanted to say that, she instantly regretted it.
"It's alright Maeve, you're right" Marjorie hums, Autumn and Charlotte looks between the sisters.

"Now that.. we settled down" Maeve adds as she straightens herself up on the desk, "I think you'd want to know what Roger is planning to do" she adds and All three women instantly turn around and pays attention to Maeve.

"Buckle in... it's a rough one" Maeve adds.
—————— 25 Minutes later———————
"Holy shit.." Marjorie widens her eyes
Autumn shifts in her seat, "what the fuck.."
"Oh my goodness..." Charlotte says quite unsettled by the news.

Maeve had just told the other two managers and Charlotte what Roger had planned to do, he had been planning to make Siobhan the main boss of the Knight nursery and the sister nursery. All the women groaned in annoyance at the news.
Siobhan is so selfish and obnoxious to all the staff, she mostly prioritises herself than the staffs needs. "Ugh no, it's bad enough that I might have to call her....mum.." Autumn gags at the thought.

"But it's not going happen anyways.. I've made sure of it. Me and Amelia have been talking about it. I feel bad for Siobhan" Maeve sighs, she and Mia had a plan set in stone for a while now.

As Charlotte looks at the time, she grabs her bag off of the table and looks over to Maeve. "We best be going now Maeve, text you later Marjorie and Autumn" Charlotte smiles as she and Maeve walk out of the nursery and drive home.

They settled down for bed, Maeve had taken herself to bed and Charlotte curled up on her bed and started texting the group chat.
They were planning a surprise party..

A/N - Are we ready to see how far and much Maeve grows on the nursery staff? The planning will commence for this party! I think the next a chapter will definitely be longer than most of the other chapters. :)
