(My Rayllum obsession is over the roof today! I haven't been able to stop looking at fanfictions and I keep finding sad ones :/ welp XD. Anyways this is gonna be about Callum, Ezran and Rayla travelling back home to Katolis)

~(timeline: after The Final Battle)

Callum's POV;

The ground was wet and soggy. The air smelt of fresh rain. Very. Heavy. Rain. Callum trudged through the mud, feeling exhausted. He watched Rayla walk confidently onwards, ignoring the boys' grunts and protests. Callum slipped and slid in the mud before reaching her. "Rayla... can we... stop?" Callum asked, panting. Rayla shook her head and kept walking without laying an eye on him. "Please?" He begged. Rayla finally turned to him. "There isn't anywhere to stop." She snapped. Callum flinched slightly. What was up with her? "...A-Are you okay?" He asked softly, putting one hand on her shoulder. She stopped for a moment, looking at him. "Yeah... I guess I'm just nervous about how the humans will react... being an assassin and all..." She replied with a shrug of her shoulders. The rain pelted down extremely hard, and Rayla looked slightly uncomfortable. She must be worried about any rivers flooding or overflowing... Poor Rayla. She should just tell me! "C'mon, I suppose we could stop somewhere." She said with a small smile. Ezran caught up with the two, panting. Bait was grumbling with the most grumpy look on his face, but if Callum was honest with himself, the little glowtoad always looked somewhat grumpy. "Finally... Bait and I need to rest-" he said between gasps. Rayla made an involuntary scoffing noise, but it was only teasing, Callum could tell. He stayed close by her side as she looked for a place to stay. Eventually, after a lot of arguing, talking and decisions, Callum picked out a small cave for them all.

~Rayla's POV

Rayla sat down in the corner of the cave. She swore that the rain had felt like hail on her neck and back when she was out there. She squeezed the water from her hair and sighed, laying against the rocks. She felt a warm-ish, small, soaked body lay down beside her, accommodated by a second, more warmer body. She opened her eyes and saw Callum and Ezran had laid down on either side of her. They all huddled together for warmth, while Rayla thought to herself. Is this a good idea.. going to Katolis...? Callum rested his head on her shoulder and her negative train of thought vanished. When Ezran had fallen asleep, Rayla leaned her head against his. Sure, sure, she knew Ezran had no problem between the two, but it was still embarrassing. Callum had already fallen asleep, and Rayla sighed to herself, leaning against his side. The war is over...I shouldnt be worried..... right?
