Zhan Wemei gasps heavily as she tried to take everything in. According to her memories, she indeed gave birth to twins five years ago.
"so, I'm really your mother" she smiled at them wryly.
"Mother, are you okay? You're still at it" Zian Xi knitted her brows full of displeasure.
"hahaha, Zian'er mother is just not feeling well. I didn't mean it" she replied sheepishly as she patted her daughter's head.
"Okay, big brother, and I would make breakfast for you" she nodded with a lovely smile and drag her brother away.
Zhan Wemei furrowed her brows as she looks at the two intensely, she couldn't remember what happened five years ago. All she remembered is that while she was pregnant a kind monk gives her this thatched hut. She then started learning how to farm to fend for herself.
She couldn't recollect what her background is even if she pries her brain open.
Not far away from their hut, there's a temple where the monk resides, the monk was kindhearted as he would drop in every five days and give them some stuff. If it weren't for that monk, they might have died long ago.
Today is the day the monk would drop by, when he arrived he was shocked as he stood rooted to the ground for a moment. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"lass, you're fine." he said softly, though his thoughts were different he didn't show it all.
"hmm, master don't worry I just have a fever so I'm still a little dizzy" Zhan Wemei replied familiarly according to her memories.
"let me have a look." the old monk said as he stretched his hands and check her pulse.
Zhan Wemei was surprised when a sudden gush of pure spirit entered her body. It wandered all over before withdrawing gently.
She didn't notice that the old have a surprised look, he looks at her meaningfully before hiding his expression.
"you're indeed fine. Just take this medicine just in case" he said gently, he then handed her a clear bottle with a giant round pearly bead of pill inside. After giving her some stuff like basic necessities and food he left right away.
When he turned away, his eyes were hazily covered in mists.
When he got back to the temple a figure wearing a simple garment appeared. "master, where are the children? Why didn't you bring them back?" he asked tentatively seeing his master's sad expression.
"she's still alive." he said simply.
The figure next to him was surprised. "w-what? Her life token clearly shattered last night. How come she's still alive?" he asks in disbelief full of doubts.
"that child indeed died, the her right now is a different soul" he sighed deeply.
"What?" the guy exclaimed, if his master didn't say it he wouldn't believe it at all.
"s-should we get rid of it?" he muttered in a small voice like a mosquito.
"no need, she's a good soul. Besides the kids would be sad without their mother" he said before disappearing into thin air.
After glancing in the direction of the thatched hut the guy also disappeared.
