Boss Jiang rubbed his eyes, and the way he looked at Zhan Wemei changed as if looking at a monster. He never thought this weak-looking lady was this strong to defeat an entire pack of silver lightning wolves on her own.

After forming a contract with the wolves Zhan Wemei returned to their side. Feeling that everyone was eyeing her weirdly she looks at them curiously.

"uhm, is there something wrong?" she furrowed her brows in puzzlement.

"..." everything about you is wrong! They shouted in their hearts as they gulp.

The mercenary captain looks at her pointedly. "miss Zhan, we didn't know you have such strength. We should not really judge the book by its cover" he sighs deeply as he recalled the scene just now.

"hahaha, is it really that shocking? I thought I was still too weak because I couldn't beat that cheap old man" she muttered dismissively, but their eyes shined with surprise as thoughts and guesses about her origins hovered over them.

They were curious but thought it would be rude to ask so they just keep it to themselves. However, they were almost certain that she was a disciple of one of the empire guardians or someone as strong as them.

The way they treated her changed, they look at her with respect and attentiveness. Zhan wemei thought nothing wrong with it. What she didn't know though that to them, her performance was just mind-blowing. They were sure that no one in the entire serene lake city could beat her.

They only heard of such explosive strength in myths and from well-known old masters with a bad temper that they only know and heard of by their name.

As per usual they started on their journey to serene lake city. Along the way, they encountered some daring spirit beasts and they were all taken care of by Zhan Wemei as she's the only capable person of beating them up.

The mercenary men were slightly embarrassed to be protected by her instead but they could only sigh in their hearts as they were not comparable to her. They even thought of recruiting her to their team. However, she politely declined.

She wanted to start a business and earn so many gold taels, that was her goal. To get filthy rich and enjoy life, but what she didn't know was that she would cause an uproar in the future because of her business.

After a week of traveling in a bumpy carriage, the kids could already feel their buttocks aching. Zhan wemei also grimaced as she quickly hops down.

After they entered the city gate they directly went towards boss Jiang's shop, he invited them to stay in his residence as guests first.

Seeing her tired children Zhan wemei didn't turn down the offer.

The madam welcomed them warmly, she was particularly attentive to them knowing that she was their savior and also she was a respectable martial arts master.

The next day Zhan wemei and the kids woke up early to shop for fancy clothes and accessories. She couldn't bear wearing the crude dress she has on, it was too rough and irritating to the skin.
