A new day has come, Niki and Jake taking shifts watching Jungwon at school, making sure he doesn't break down or accidentally confess or something, cause that would be really awkward for the friend group—"hey I'm kinda in love with you, and your lip locking buddy, but it's okay I'll get over it"—yeah, that wasn't happening.

"How's it going with Sunghoon?" Jungwon asked as he and Jake walked to school. Jake hesitated before answering, "I don't know if anyone really noticed but I keep like, freezing up and running away." Jungwon almost face palmed at the stupidity of his friend, "yeah, everyone noticed, including Sunghoon."

Jake sighed, "Sunghoon's a bit on the slower side though" to which Jungwon laughed because it was in fact true. "Whatever," Jake finally said, "I don't wanna worry about that right now." Jungwon nodded, and the duo walked to school in silence.

"Guys, I think Jake is avoiding me" Sunghoon asked after he waved at the wavy haired boy turned and ran off with wide eyes. Heeseung slapped the back of Sunghoon's neck, "You think?"

"Please tell me you're not really this stupid"

"I'm sorry!" Sunghoon said, sighing as he leaned his forehead on Jay's locker. "I literally have no clue what to do anymore, I thought we talked it all out but he's avoiding me again."

"Maybe you need to talk again"

"What's there even to talk about? We cleared everything up" Sunghoon replied, then paused and stared at the floor in thought, "I think? I don't know, he seemed satisfied with how the conversation went"

"Maybe he was satisfied, but is still hesitating"

"But why?"

"How would I know?"

"Then how am I going to find out?"

"Oh my G-you ask him, you idiot" Heeseung said, his face showing pure shock at the words Sunghoon spoke.

"Oh yeah" Sunghoon replied, staring at Heeseung dumbfounded. He shook his head, "anyways enough about me, would you like to explain why I saw you guys making out yesterday?"

"No"

"Not really"

Sunghoon rolled his eyes, "You guys were the first ones to talk shit when I wouldn't tell you something, don't be fake"

"No there's literally nothing to tell, we just kinda did it."

"Bros helping bros out you know"

"You really have to stop saying that"

"I am officially uncomfortable" Sunghoon said, turning around and walking away. His eyes brightened when he noticed Jake stood by his locker and quickly approached.

"Hey Jake" he said with a smile, Jake looked nervous as he replied. "Hi, how are you feeling?"

"Terrible" Sunghoon replied, contradicting the wide smile he had on his face while talking to the slighter shorter boy. Jake smiled "um, if the offer still stands, do you want to go on that date?"

"Really?" Sunghoon asked, eyebrows raised in surprise. "Yeah" Jake replied shyly.

"Y-Yeah of course, pick you up at 6?"

"Sounds good"

"Okay, I'll see you later" Sunghoon said and quickly walked off to find his friends.

"I haven't been on a date in like 2 years" Jake said as he stuffed his face with cereal from some no name brand. Niki was seated beside him, happily playing games on his phone. "Well I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to eat before a date" Jungwon replied from his seat on the coach, Gossip Girl was playing on the T.V.

"I'm stressed Won," he replied as he forced himself to put away the unhealthy snack, "last time I was on a date I was left stranded on the road at 3 AM."

"In the rain" Niki added.

"In the rain" Jake repeated, emphasizing the extent of how bad it was. "Face it, I'm just not good at this stuff."

"You're doing that thing again" Jungwon intercepted as he walked over to the kitchen table. "You know, that thing where you blame yourself for shitty things that shitty people did to you." Jake sighed, staring off into the distance while trying to digest Jungwon's words. "You're allowed to have fun and be happy, so stop stressing so we can leave, it's almost time for your date and unless you're into that kinda thing I don't think you want us here past 8."

Jake laughed at Jungwon's comment as the two boys grabbed their backpacks and walked towards the front door, "thanks for the help guys."

"Anytime, have fun tonight" Niki replied with a flirty look, Jake rolled his eyes and closed the door behind him, going to his room to change for his date.

Before long, the sound of the doorbell chimed through his apartment. Jake rushed to open the door and was met with the sight of a dishevelled Sunghoon. "You look terrible" Jake blurted out, before quickly slapping a hand over his mouth. He immediately regretted saying it, but it was true. Sunghoon looked like he hadn't slept in days, his nose was shining bright red and his skin pale. Sunghoon chuckled at Jake's shamelessness "well hello to you too."

"No seriously, are you feeling okay?" Jake asked with concern, pulling Sunghoon inside by the arm and guiding him to a seat on the kitchen table. "Never better" Sunghoon said as Jake rested a hand on his forehead. Jake frowned, "you're burning up."

"I'm fine, Jakey. Really."

Jake blushed slightly at the unexpected nickname, walking towards the sink and filling up a glass of water. "You're not," he finally replied as he walked back towards Sunghoon, who quickly accepted the cup, "let's get you lying down, hm?"

Sunghoon sighed as Jake dragged him towards the couch, his perfect date was over before it even began. Sunghoon laid down on the couch, getting comfortable under the blanket Jake gave him. He sighed, "I got us a reservation at this amazing Italian place, this is no time to be snotty and gross." Jake laughed as he grabbed the remote and turned on the soccer game. "Yet here you are," he said, kneeling down next to Sunghoon, his face dangerously close, "snotty and gross." Sunghoon felt his face get hot as Jake smiled down at him, whose face quickly turned to one of concern. "God, you're really burning up aren't you," Jake said, gently placing a hand on Sunghoon's cheek and looking sadly in his eyes, "is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?"

Sunghoon felt incredibly flustered, he forced a smile and replied, "a movie and cuddle would be great right about now."

Jake let out an, aww you poor thing, before kissing Sunghoon's forehead and getting up to grab snacks for them. Although he would never admit it, his flushed cheeks and loudly beating heart proved that Sunghoon quite liked being babied like this. Especially by Jake.

While pasta sounds great, forehead kisses and cuddles feel great, and so Sunghoon's idea of the perfect date changed that day.

hi my loves!! i know its been two years since i last updated this book and i'm not even sure anyone is reading anymore. however i once said before that this book is my baby and i plan on finishing it. that's why (no matter how much i may hate my writing and humor from two years ago lol) i'm back to finish it off. whether i get one read or one thousand, i appreciate everyone who has read thus far and is ready to stick around till the end. and to all my readers, i'm very sorry. i have been spending the last two years dealing with a traumatic event, and i truly missed writing after all this time so i'll be updating this book every friday from now on.

also, i'll be making some changes to the earlier chapters (mostly just removing footnotes), so don't worry if you receive any notifications.

i hope you enjoyed the chapter! and get ready for some more drama ;)
