As minutes went by, Marinette got done with her science homework and she put down a few more words on her research paper and saved it on her hard drive.
Marinette: Okay, there we go. It's all done.
Tikki: That's the only homework you got today?
Marinette: Yep, good thing too. If I had a lot then I would be missing Marin's soccer match. It's the last match of the season.
Tikki: Wow. *Soon, the trap door knocked. *
Tom: Marinette, are you done with your homework?
Marinette: Yeah, dad. Hide, guys. *The Kwamis started hiding in their hiding spots. * Come in. *The trapdoor opened, and Tom poked his head out. *
Tom: Hey, just wondering if you're done so you can help out with dinner prepping.
Marinette: You caught me in time. I just got done.
Tom: Great. Help me get things all set before we leave.
Marinette: Okay. *Tom closed the trap door and Marinette headed out of her room and into the kitchen. Marin puts on his jersey and ties up his cleats. *
Sabine: (Tom and Marinette head to the kitchen and put on their apron.) All ready to go?
Marin: Yep. Last game of the season and hopefully that soccer scholarship will be mine before I graduate.
Sabine: (Tom teaches Marinette how to prep the salmon when getting ready to cook it.) Aw, honey. You'll be fine, don't stress yourself out on that.
Marin: I'm trying not to, mom. I'm just a little nervous, that's all.
Bridgette: You're just playing soccer, what's there to be nervous about?
Marin: The soccer coach in PSG Football Academy Pro will be there to hand out Futbol scholarships to any star player and since I've been a star player for five years straight, I'm gonna put all the training to the task and no one would distract me or throw me off.
Bridgette: (Marinette looks up a strawberry pudding recipe to make for dessert tonight.) I'd like to see that ever happening. *Marin rolled his eyes and groaned. *
Sabine: Well sweetie, all that matters is you do your best, and we'll support you no matter what.
Marin: Thank you, mom. At least someone believes in me. *Bridgette rolled her eyes and rolled her eyes, she ate some avocado and cheese Doritos and read a book. In the Liberty, Luka worked on his science homework first and Juleka petted Snowflake as she licked her face, she chuckled. *
Juleka: Looks like someone's energetic today.
Luka: You or Snowflake?
Juleka: Snowflake. *She kissed her, and Snowflake licked her nose, Juleka giggled, and she threw her squeaky bone to the left and she got it. * She's not like all dogs.
Luka: Why'd you say that? *He filled in the blanks and got to the next portion. *
Juleka: Usually not all dogs are well-behaved, some have to go to obedient school and be well-trained. But not her. *Snowflake squeaks her toy bone and goes up to Juleka. * Okay. *She threw out the bone and Snowflake got it and squeaked it. *
Luka: You do have a point. *He closed his science workbook and got to his algebra homework. Then, Anarka walked in with a drink pitcher. *
Anarka: Hello, I'm not interrupting, am I?
Luka: No, mom.
Anarka: Oh, good. I made you two some smoothies. *She showed them the cups and they grabbed a cup. *
Luka: What kind is it?
Anarka: Mixed berries. *They took a sip, and they liked it. *
Juleka: Taste good. Thanks, Mom.
Anarka: You're welcome. I'll let ye get back to what you're doing. Dinner will be ready in 10 minutes. *She leaves their cabin, Luka gets back to work, and Juleka reads a book on her bed. *
In Marinette's house, Bridgette closed her folder and textbook and put them in her backpack.
Bridgette: Homework's done, which is good.
Sabine: That's good. *Bridgette goes up to her room and puts her stuff down. *
Tom: And that's how you do it.
Marinette: Looks great to me.
Tom: I agree. We'll put in the oven when we get back.
Marinette: Okay.
Tom: Next is the salad.
Sabine: I already got that covered. I made an Italian salad. *She showed them the salad she made. *
Tom: Looks great. How did you know what salad I had in mind to make?
Sabine: Great minds think alike, honey. *She kissed him on the cheek and put the salad aside. *
Tom: Okay, guess I better get the rolls in. Do we have any left in the freezer?
Sabine: We do. I checked.
Tom: Great. Marinette, you're gonna make the pudding?
Marinette: Yes. Want me to do it now?
Tom: Yes. Uh, Marin. What time is the game?
Marin: 1/2 an hour.
Tom: We'll have to get everything cooked and done when we get back from the game. *Marin totes his duffle bag. *
Marin: Ready to go.
Tom: Okay, let's go guys.
Bridgette: Already?
Marin: I have a game in 1/2 an hour.
Bridgette: Why couldn't it be earlier?
Marin: I'm not the one who should pick the time. *Bridgette rolled her eyes, Sabine covered up the salad and they all left the house and walked to the car. Marinette's phone buzzed, she got it out of her purse and it was a message from Luka. *
🐍: I had a good date at the Boba Tea shop.
🐞: Me too. We should do it again some other time.
🐍: Yeah. How about once a week?
🐞: Same day or some other day?
🐍: Same day. Since it's Wednesday, let's do it every Wednesday after school.
🐞: Sounds like a good idea. We'll do it.
🐍: Good to hear.
🐞: Gotta go. We're going to Marin's soccer game. It's the last game of the season.
🐍: Cool. Tell him I say good luck.
🐞: Okay, I will. *She put her phone back in her purse and looked at Marin. *
Marinette: Luka said good luck.
Marin: Tell him I said thanks, I'll need it.
Marinette: I will. *The car keeps moving until they get to the Parc de Princes stadium. At the Agreste Mansion and in Adrien's room, Adrien played the piano before dinner. *
Plagg: So, what are we doing now?
Adrien: For now, Plagg, nothing. Since we already dealt with more Akumas. Think we can relax now.
Plagg: Now you're talking. *He lay on Adrien's pillow and ate some Camembert. *
Adrien: But still... think my father changed.
Plagg: You noticed too?
Adrien: What do you mean?
Plagg: Think he's changing?
Adrien: You could say he's being more opened up when my mom disappeared.
Plagg: Sometimes, you have to be cautious. You know how things change in seconds.
Adrien: Not all things change.
Plagg: (turning away from Adrien) "Yeah, but be on full alert when you have the chance."
At the Parc Des Princes stadium, the whole seating was almost full and 2 teams were all ready to play. Marinette, Bridgette, Timmy, Tom, and Sabine sat down and watched.
Bridgette: Hopefully this game will be good. Even though I'm not a big fan of soccer.
Marinette: I'm sure it'll be good. Think they're starting. *They see two different teams coming out of both sides and onto the field. *
Marin: See the sports scout?
Stephanie: No. You're not gonna focus on that, are you?
Marin: Trying not to.
Coach Collins: Listen up, this is the last game of the season, so we want to leave this season with a win, right? *They answered yes to Coach Collins. * Good. Then you know what we have to do and work together as a team.
Andy: Those Marseille Wild Boars won't know what hit 'em.
Coach Collins: That's the spirit, Andy. Now go out there and make this the best last game ever. *They start running out on the field, same with the Marseille Wild Boars. Then the game went on and back and forth both teams scored a goal, but the Paris Wolf scored the most. *
Bridgette: Huh, he is good.
Tom: I knew a trip to Soccer camp was worth it.
Sabine: You were right. Sorry if I ever doubted you. *They keep watching the game until the end when the Paris Wolves won the season. *
Coach Collins: I'm proud of you all. You put up a good fight and scored the winning trophy.
Andy: We did it! *The whole team cheered for that, Kylie walked up to the winning team.*
Kylie: Excuse me, Coach Collins?
Coach Collins: Yes, who are you?
Kylie: My name is Kylie Cruz, Daily-Planet Newspaper. Can I get an interview with the winning school soccer team: the Paris Wolves?
Coach Collins: Of course. *She gets her pen and pad ready to go as she starts interviewing. Then, Coach Niblick from the PSG Football Academy Pro in France. *
Coach Niblick: Excuse me? *Marin looked up and saw him. *
Marin: Whoa, you're... Coach Niblick!
Coach Niblick: Yes, I am. And who might you be?
Marin: Marin Dupain-Cheng, sir.
Coach Niblick: Nice to meet you, Marin. I saw your skill playing on the field. Have you always loved soccer?
Marin: Yes, I have. Been playing since I was 5 and I even went to soccer camp for the summer.
Coach Niblick: Hmm... I wanted to ask who gets the Futbol scholarship for PSG Football Academy Pro in France. And after watching the game, I would say... I'll have to give it to you. *Marin honked; Coach Niblick looked confused. *
Coach Collins: He means he's excited.
Coach Niblick: Okay, I'll take it.
Marin: So, I'll be... taking a scholarship... to the prestigious sports college in Paris?
Coach Niblick: Yep.
Marin: Mind if I get back to you? Just need to think about that.
Coach Niblick: Of course. *He hands Marin the school contact card. * Give me a call or send an e-mail when you conclude.
Marin: Thanks, I will. *He looked at the business card in his hand and grinned at what just happened. *
