Here's the chapter, as promised. I would have put it up sooner but I was asleep...

The 12s had much up day yesterday, it was pretty mad. Some people walked around with glitter and poured it all over the younger grades while yelling ‘SHINE BRIGHT!’ and then running off. There was butchers paper everywhere from writing signs. The locked the gate into school and put water over the majority of seats. I personally didn’t do much… except sticky taping two kids together… Oliver was not happy.

Graduation dinner (prom) is tonight. I turn on the shower and get in, letting the warm beads of water rain on my tense, swollen body. I breathe deeply and put a hand on my stomach. Braxton hicks are painful.

The pain slows. I rub some soap over myself, being careful not to wet my hair. The water runs the soap off my skin and leaves me clean.

I get out and dry myself with my towel. I slide on my underwear and quickly slip on my dress. I grab my make-up out and apply foundation before the purple powder on my eyelids. I put on eyeliner and mascara, a very light, almost invisible, pink blush and my red lipstick.

I French braid my hair at the start but once it gets to the shoulder I slip the hair in two sections and wrap one half around the other, creating a tied look. I slip a hidden hair tie on and a few bobby pins. With the other half that sits down, I get out my curler and make ringlets in it.

I slip on my dark purple gladiators to go with my dress.

I look down adoringly. The dress is beautiful. It only has a one shoulder strap and the way it gathers and such it looks like what the top of a toga but prettier. The material on my shoulder meets with big silver with little diamond crystal things embed into it.  The dress starts with white and flows to lavender and eventually a dark purple. In the bottom right corner in the dark purple there is a big white rose. Under the bust is a line of beads in white, clear and purple.

I look at myself in the full length mirror and smile. I look beautiful.

There’s a knock at the door that startles me. I jump a little and shake my head. I twist the knob and see Oliver wait. His jaw drops, “May, you always look blindingly stunning but you look… Wow.”

“Not too bad yourself,” I joke. He looks to die for. He has a full suit with a white shirt on. His hair is combed and everything. “You look amazing Ollie.”

“Why thank you ma’am. Now, you have a guest,” he says and someone steps out. Its Lotus.

Her eyes widen and she sighs, “Wow May… You… Wow.”

“If I could blush I would,” I reply jokingly. “What can I help you with honey?”

Lotus and I, seriously, if I felt comfortable with people looking up my private area, she would be in the birth room with me. Who knows, we still have two months, she might end up in there with me. But then, I already have Mum, Oliver, Payton, Crayna, hopefully not Oliver’s mum, in there. I don’t think they would let me have anyone else. I think I’m already going over the limit.

“Um, do you have a dress I could borrow? All my good stuff is still being sent over and Erik wants to take me to the dance…”

“SURE!! Come one. I’m sure I have something from when I wasn’t pregnant.”

We look though my clothes but most of my stuff from back then is still at Mum’s.

“I know, I’ll call mum and ask her to come early and bring some dresses. She will be here soon anyway,” I tell her.

I dial mum’s number and she answers straight away. “Hello!”

“Hey Mum! Can you come a bit earlier and bring some of my old dresses. Anything that looks nice. It’s for Lotus. She doesn’t have a dress.”

“Sure thing Hun, I’ll see you soon.”

A few minutes late mum walks into the kitchen where we are. We left the door open for her. She has an overflowing box in her hand, materials of all colours begging to be seen. She sets it down on the table, “Hey! May, Ollie, you two look breathtaking!”

We thank her and Lotus and I head to the box. We pull dress after dress out until there are two left out of the no pile. There are a lot of nice dresses but most aren’t really formal enough.

She runs to the bathroom and a few minutes later emerge in a full length dress with a bodice top half with lace and all. The top half is red with black ribbon and the bottom half is a straight flowing black material.

Everyone tells her how nice it looks; she thanks us and goes to try the second one on.

This one has off the shoulder straps in black chiffon. Despite the sleeves, it is a sweetheart neckline dress. Its blue. The bottom is plain blue.

“That one works well, but I like the other one better,” I tell her. Mum agrees.

She thanks us and changes into the other dress. When she’s back in the dress I help her with make-up and hair. I tie her hair into a bun. All her curls fight for freedom and finish the look. I apply a little make-up but she doesn’t need much. Suddenly someone else walks in.

I look up from my work to see Crayna and Phoebs at the door; I squeal and scoop Phoebe up. She hugs me back tightly.

“This is my pretty princess, hey Phoebs,” I ask and she nods. “This is my niece Phoebe and my sister Crayna; this is Lotus, my friend.”

“Hi,” Crayna says with a smile. Lotus gives her greeting and goes back to finishing her make-up.

“Aunty Mayu. Not baby room. My room.”

I look at Crayna with a quizzical face, “Mum started to redecorate Phoebe’s old room for the baby. Phoebe, Mummy and Glanlea told you, you’re a big girl now! You can sleep in a big girl bed! You still get your room but you have to share now. Baby gets cot, Phoebe gets bed. Ok?”

She huffs and pulls a funny grumpy face.

I put her down and she runs off. We all burst out laughing.

We head back to the kitchen to put away the dresses. Oliver is standing with Phoebe in his arms in the lounge room directly across from the kitchen. Phoebe is ranting at him. “Uncee Oli, not fair. I hate baby. My room. Not baby room. Granlea mean to me.”

Oliver looks around for help. I laugh and call out, “Mum started to redecorate her room so they can both be in there.”

He sighs and sits on the couch with her.  “Phoebs, you have to share. If I had a toy,” he pulls out a miniature doll figurine from his back, Phoebe immediately grabs for it but Oliver pulls back, “you’d want me to share it with you, wouldn’t you?”

“Share! I like sharing!”

“You promise to share?”

“Promise!”

“And you don’t hate the baby?”

“I love baby.”

“Good girl,” he hands her the doll thing and she skips off happily.

“Good work babe!” I say.

He bows, “Thank you, thank you,” he pulls out a box, "I have a present for you too."

I giggle and smile. He hands me the box. I open it gently and a silver bracelet greets me. It closer with a one of those bar things that slips through a circle. There's a pretty heart dangling.

"Turn it over," Oliver tells me.

I turn it and melt. On the back is a message, "Love you May."

I hug Oliver and try not to cry. "Uh, May, not done yet, there's a matching necklace," he hands me another box and I look around guiltily. I open it and a locket greets me. "Flip it over."

I flip it and the word always is neatly written.

"They're a set, Love you May, Forever."

I slip my hand into his, "Put it on me?"

He grabs the necklace and slips it around my neck.

Mum coos, "Perfect."

We're interupted. There’s another knock at the door. Gosh! What is this? A take-away restaurant? “COME IN!” I yell.

Erik walks in, “Hi! I would have bought you something Lote but there was hardly anything. I’m sorry.”

She smiles and gives him a hug, “Its fine Erik,” they’ve been going out since they met. Not officially, but it kind of is…

“Thank you for letting me take you to the dance,” he says.

“Thanks for asking!”

Mum and Payton who, has also appeared because our upstairs obviously need more people, get out cameras. “Ok, line up! We want pictures!”

They get a few with me and Oliver, a few with Lotus and Erik and some of all of us. We also have separate pictures with everyone, like me and mum getting a pic and Oliver and Payton, vice versa and so on.

We all load into Oliver’s car and head to the club it’s at. We pile out and enter into the restaurant.

(A/N: I THINK in America they have these things in there hall/gym, but in Australia its different. This story is kind of set between them both :P)

The room is decorated beautifully. There’s a dance floor and a ton of tables. We all pick a spot to sit at and I put my handbag down at my feet. We talk until it starts filling up. Oliver drags me to the dance floor. There’s a group already there. The hokey pokey (not sure of that spelling and my internet is down :p) starts to play. There’s a teacher up the front yelling out instructions. “YOU PUT YOUR LEFT FOOT IN, YOU PUT YOUR LEFT FOOT OUT, IN, OUT, IN, OUT AND YOU SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT! YOU DO THE HOKEYY POKEY AND TURN AROUND, THAT’S WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!!!! WOOOOO THE HOCKY POKY!! WOOO THE HOKEY POKEY!! AND THAT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!!!” we all scream.

The jumping starts taking affect and I have to sit down. I wipe my forehead, it’s pretty hot. I shake my head and gulp some coke. Oliver looks at me worried, “May, are you ok?”

“I-I’m fine! Don’t worry Oliver!”

We sit down and soon its dinner and speeches. “You group have been a pain in my ass!” the principal says. We all laugh. She straightens her skirt down, “Because I care about you all so much! You’re a good lot! We’ve had our ups and downs. Hey, Martina, you were hospitalized for cancer, but you kicked its butt, Retta, you broke your leg by tripping over a floor fan, good one. Mayarna, pregnant,” we all laugh. “Oliver and Mayarna being engaged, Jayce breaking her nose while playing volleyball, Finner, jumping over the fence after school to get homework, Rix, Sarah and Vickie breaking a bench, gosh, I take back what I said about you being a good bunch!” we all laugh again.

“Well, whatever happens, I want you to know I’m always up for a chat. You really are great kids. You’ll make good things happen.”

More speeches go around. We all eat dinner and goof around. After that, Lotus, Erik, Oliver and I get up and dance as a group.

Time flies! Before long the great night is ending. Oliver and I line up to get our photo taken.

We head out to the car. “Hey Ollie. Can we go to your park?”

“What about Lotus and Erik?”

They shrug, “We’re in dude.”

Yay! Fun! We stop to get ice-cream and then keep heading to the park.

I sit on a swing while licking my ice-cream. Lotus sits beside me, “I really hope Erik is what he seems to be.”

I smile, “Don’t worry, give it some time. Hey, when I first started to hang out with Oliver, I was a mess so I slept at his house, we didn’t do anything, but that morning, he had a visitor. Aubrey… Trench coat and nothing else…. I was pretty pissed. He didn’t invite her though, it was just routine.”

“Gosh!! Why didn’t you run out of there?”

“I did, but he followed me. I gave him another chance and he stuck by me when I had a problem. Believe me; I came with a large pack of trouble.”

“You guys are just perfect.”

Oliver jumps up behind me on the swing, “Yeah, I know I am.”

We all laugh at him and I boot him off the swing. He falls off and gives us all good entertainment.

Lotus looks at me, “Can I please draw on your stomach??  PLEASE?”

“Random much….” I reply.

“I have a body safe Nikko!”

“Ok… But uh… I’m in expensive dress.”

“I have my clothes in my bag! I figured I might not get back to your place so I just put them in there!”

She runs to the car to her school bag and comes back with mini-jeans and a shirt. I look at her for a minute. Is she serious?

“Ah… I don’t think that will fit me.”

She laughs, “Just leave the pants undone and roll the shirt up so its above your stomach! Please…”

I go behind a tree and redress, careful not to let my dress catch on anything. I look ridiculous!

I come out and Lotus claps her hand, “Good! Now sit.”

I shut my eyes and let her draw. “Nothing gross though…”

The pen tickles my stomach because she’s pressing softly. I zone out. She claps her hands a few minutes later and I look at my stomach.

She has a smiley face with very long eyelashes and a toothy grin drawn on my stomach. I laugh and shake my head, this better wash off!

She giggles and runs off. Oliver sits beside me and laughs. “Beautiful…”

“I know!”

He rubs my stomach softly.

“Hey guys, we better head back. We have last day tomorrow!” I yell and Erik and Lotus barrel back.

We pile into the car again.

It’s all over, I think as I lay in bed. My high school life officially ends tomorrow. It’s sad. I’m leaving my forced education. No more getting up for school or waiting for holidays. It’s over.  I remember one time, I waited all the term looking forward to break and I ended up breaking my leg badly and had to stay in hospital. I couldn’t do anything.  I wanted so much for school to just be over. Now I wish I could go back, weirdly.

Oliver walks into the bedroom and plots down on the bed. “You know May… I’m not tired….”

He kisses my neck and makes me laugh. “Hmm…”

“What are you thinking about?”

“Just the end of school. It’s been so long coming and now its tomorrow.”

He sighs and kisses me, “We’ve still got uni…”

“Yeah, you’re right.”

“Did you have fun tonight?” he asks.

“Yes, of course, I was with you,” I answer

“Yeah, good point, of course you did…”

I laugh, “What about you?”

He nods. “It was great. Lotus and Erik are a good couple, they were cute.”

“They are! You’re a good match maker!”

“Hmm… You looked really gorgeous tonight May.”

“You did too,” I whisper back. He tucks a loose strand of my hair behind my ear. “Hey, let me see your tattoo tonight, how is it?”

“I think it’s completely healed now.”

I look at the smooth surface, “Seems so.”

I kiss it and slowly lick around the outside of it. “Mmm…” he vocalizes.

I have a feeling I’m going to be tired on my last day of school….
