SeokJin waited, he waited for what felt like years. It had been two days since he had called the police, 48 hours spent without the love of his life curled into his side. The officers insisted on investigating, telling the young man to remain at home until further notice. SeokJin was left to lay in bed, splayed out along the mattress in partial boredom. He was worried beyond all belief, and with that worry came a depressive slum he had no intentions on carrying around with him. He hadn't eaten, he felt sick to his stomach every time he attempted to take a bite of... well just about anything.

..:Day Prior:..

It was so dark, so very dark. The air surrounding Taehyung was musty and smelled of rotting wood. He tried his damnedest to hold in his breath, but what was the point of doing such a stupid thing? "Let me go! Let me the fuck go! Why do you want me?! Why?!" The young man snarled, anger seething through him. "I'm going to kill you, you prick! Let me go!" He was restrained, tied to something. A pole, some sort of wooden support beam. He was confused, kicking at the rubble beneath his feet. "Please, you don't understand! I have a boyfriend, please!" With every ounce of fight he had left within him, he tried to reason with his kidnapper. It worked to no avail, seeing as the doors to what seemed to be a sort of barn opened, leaving a shadow to linger just outside. Taehyung could tell it was going to be one Hell of a battle.

"Ah, son, I'm so sorry." SeokJin's mother wailed, throwing her arms around her son. It was a sort of condolence, but it didn't make any sense. It's not like Taehyung was dead. "Yah, everything's fine. Him and I will be fine." Jin assured, not completely settled on whether it were directed towards his parents or himself. His mother and father had seen the AMBER Alert, instinctively picking themselves up from their cottage in the outskirts of Daegu to travel into the city. Jin could feel his father's hand placed firmly on his shoulder, were they expecting to get the news that Taehyung was no longer alive?

Was it some sort of sick joke? It had to be, this wasn't happening. It couldn't possibly be happening. "Sir, you see..." The officers voice was a hoarse whisper "We need you to come and identify the body."

They drove and drove, it felt like time was moving half speed. SeokJin tried to hold his head high. Stay hopeful, he thought. "So, uh, how old are you, kid?" The officer tried to make small talk, glaring into the rear view mirror. Silence. How was he supposed to speak?

Sometime between stopping at red lights and curving around odd bends, they had made it to the nearest coroners office. Both SeokJin and the officer freed themselves from the car, walking into the building. That's when it hit the young man, he was there to identify someone's body.

He was hailed into a room, two large lamps displaying a metal plate. A makeshift bed for many unfortunate souls. "Kim SeokJin, this way." He followed, a white blanket covering the silhouette of somebody's child, brother, boyfriend. He felt an arm fall over his shoulders as the coroner grabbed the top of the blanket, who knew one's life could be destroyed by such a simple action?

"Fuck! What did you do?! What the fuck did you do?!" SeokJin desperately attempted to grab at the stone cold body, skin pale with blue undertones. "Why did you leave?! Why didn't you just stay home?!" Tears obscured his vision, he swore he could see Taehyung's lips curve into a smile. "I love you! I love you! Say it back, baby!"

"Sir, you need to calm down." Calm down? There was nothing calm about the situation, how was he supposed to "calm down." "You need to calm down! That's my boyfriend, he was mine! I, I let them do this!" SeokJin had a clean alibi, but he was still blaming himself? How pitiful.

At the end of that sad, lonely, unforgiving night, SeokJin had been pried away from Taehyung. Returning home was entering a never-ending reminder of him. His rich voice, his gorgeous eyes, the way his mouth formed into a rectangle every time he smiled. Too much to reminisce.

Lust.
Love.
Desire.
Happiness.

It was all gone.
