Commander stared at the photo on his wall. It was of the whole camp. It had been taken three years ago during a nice spring morning. A pretty good thunderstorm rolled in later that day from what Commander could remember.
Medic was standing next to him in the photo, her hair a nice pixie cut after an accident with one of the pyromancers. Commander remembered how he would just stare at her any chance he got for he thought the hairstyle looked adorable on the head medic.
Commander shook out of his trance of Medic and moved on to a different face. Scout was brand new to the camp when this photo was taken, fresh out of basic training. It was actually a mistake he was placed here, piss poor coordination being at fault.
However, Commander couldn't bring it in him to have Scout moved to the proper district after three months of having him around.
From there, Scout made every day just a bit bearable. Commander stopped to think. He had lost Scout and he had ruined his relationship with Medic. Nobody else in the camp was close to him like they were.
Commander began to think deeper. He quickly slapped his forehead though, "No... none of that. Can't start thinking like that again." He spoke to himself, needing the peptalk.
He had demons. Demons he never talked about and kept hidden. He thought they were vanquished after he met Scout and Medic, but it turned out they just laid dormant until now.
"I need a coffee," Commander told himself as he got out his keys and made his way to his door. He stopped just beside the door when he heard some fast paced clicking. They sounded like heels, medic heels.
Commander quickly stepped away from the door, thinking it might be Val coming back for round two. Sure enough, his door was nearly kicked off its hinges by Medic.
Commander started to freak. Not because Medic had finally come back to him, but his precious door was now broken.
"My door-" Commander began to whine, but Medic shut him up as he stomped forward, her eyes burning.
"Listen here! We have been through so much you and I. We've had coffee nights where we would stay up all night to god damn paper work!" Medic pointed her finger at Commander, who was backing up towards his desk.
"Not to mention the time you broke your legs after being stupid enough to use a shopping cart as a go-kart and I had to take care of you!" Medic reminded. Commander was hoping she would never bring up the memory again.
Medic had backed him up to his desk. Commander was nearly about to start climbing it out of fear. "Lastly, how dare you think I don't care about how you feel? That's all I ever do with you! Care about you! It's about time you feel the same!" Medic stomped right up to his face.
"What are you doi-" Commander was nervously sweating and trying to calm the situation down when Medic grabbed his shirt and forced him down. Their lips crashed against one another's.
Commander went wide eyed at the surprise action and froze. Medic quickly caught on to what she was doing and pulled away fiercely. "Oh Creator, I didn't mean- it was all Val's idea and-"
As Medic rambled about this being a huge dumb mistake, Commander took his glasses off. His hands shook as he peeled them away from his eyes and placed them on his desk. He looked right back at Medic, who was still gushing out apologies and excuses.
"I was so emotionally out of it so I guess Val brainwashed me or something," Medic kept on panicking even more as Commander slowly wrapped his arms around her.
Medic looked up, tears pricking at her eyes. She never really saw him without the sunglasses, they were his most valued things. He looked handsome without them, he should really wear them less in her opinion.
"So... uhm, am I in trouble for this?" Medic asked, her voice shakey. Commander couldn't give her a verbal answer as he leaned down and returned the surprise affection.
Medic quickly melted into it, years of crushing and pining finally over. The two wrapped their arms around one another, excitement getting the better of them.
It would of gotten messy if the two weren't caught. A small cough had them peeling off one another in an instance. In front of the broken door stood nearly all of the commanders. Most were watching slack jawed.
Maid Commander spoke for all of them, "We'll put in an order for a new door, sir..." She quickly ushered the others to leave, a faint "Cough up the fifty bucks" being the last thing Medic and Commander heard.
Commander was just about to rush out there and explain himself but Medic pulled him back for another deep kiss.
She gave him some time to breathe after a moment and stood up on her tippy toes to whisper into his ear, "I want to kiss you some more but I don't want another crowd. I remember your bed being quite comfortable."
Medic caught Commander as he stumbled for a second, the sudden sentence nearly sending him to the floor.
Commander groaned as he got up. Looking around, he noticed that he wasn't in his bed. He wasn't even in his office. It was just pitch darkness.
Looking down, he was glad to see he at least had some pants on in this dream. He never wanted to have one of those pantsless dreams again.
"Hello?" Commander called out, his voice echoing. "Scout? Is this another one of these dreams?" he called out again, thinking it was that. The only response he got was his own voice.
Then he heard heels. They sounded like they were running. Commander would of believed they were Medic's, but they weren't.
These footsteps were longer, and Medic was a bit short. They sounded a bit heavier and thicker, Medic's heels always let out a high pitched click.
"Hey! Who's coming towards me?" Commander called sternly. He stared into the shadows where the clicking was coming from. Commander tried to see if he could make out a figure in the darkness, but no one appeared.
All of a sudden, a lady jumped from the shadows and into his arms. She gripped onto Commander while bright purple ribbons tried to pull her back in the darkness.
Commander freaked and tried to pull her off of him, but she stopped him deperately. "Calm it down! I don't have much time, I'm a tower like you!" she screamed.
She looked tired, beaten, and disheveled. Commander grabbed onto her and helped her not be dragged away.
"I'm Eclipse Commander, I'm a dreamwalker! I can explain that later but listen," her magenta and orange mixed eyes seemed to glow as Commander looked at her in horror.
"There are five of us. The twins are in the Rotfields, another brother at the Swamp, and the last brother at the gates of the Totality Tower," Eclipse Commander grunted as the ribbons yanked her back.
Commander was trying to get a word in, but the lady was taking all the speaking room, "I'm in the Totality Tower, they have a weapon! It's called the Star Canon. You can use it against the Umbra, it's the only way to defeat her!"
The ribbons yanked harder and the two gripped on eachothers hands. Eclipse Commander let out a small scream as she tried to fight back, "Each of my brothers can help you, just make sure you save th- AAAHHHHH!"
Eclipse Commander screamed as the ribbons ripped her from Commander's hold and into the darkness. Commander stood their in horror at what he just went through. Was this even real?
From the shadows the commander disappeared in, three, glowing, titan eyes emerged. The eyes squinted at Commander as a bright purple hand emerged from the shadows soon after.
Commander screamed as the hand came swatting down at him and-
Commander woke up with a start and sat up. His breathing was heavy and his heard pumped wildly. As he tried his best to process the dream, a tired hand trailed up his torso and rested on his chest.
The room was dark and Commander really needed a light right now. He reached over and flicked on his bedside lamp. He squinted for a moment before adjusting to the light. A small groan had him looking to his side.
Medic, her hair messily down, sat up and squinted towards Commander. She had some darkening spots around his shoulders, neck, and chest. Commander looked away in embarrassment, recent events catching up to him.
"What's got you so jumpy?" Medic yawned as she leaned against him. Commander thought about the dream and contemplated on telling her, but she began annoying him.
"Come on, you should tell me. Afraid to ask for a round two?" Medic teased as she leaned over and kissed his cheek. Commander snorted and gently pushed her away.
Commander got serious after that, "I had another weird dream. I don't know if it was real. There was this lady..." He looked over and saw an angry Medic looking at him.
"No, not that kind of dream. She jumped from the darkness, ribbons tied around her. She was yelling about the three regions where those titans are staying at," Commander began to think. The dream was trying its best to leave his head, but it freaked him out too much to do so.
Medic brushed the hair out of her face as she listened. She was concerned, this is the second significant dream Commander has had.
"She said something about her brothers and being a dreamwalker-" Commander paused when Medic gasped and grabbed his face. "You were visited by a dreamwalker!?" Medic asked, excited.
"Y-Yes?" Commander responded and got another excited squeal. "You are so lucky! Dreamwalkers are ancient people who could visit others dreams! Apparently, about twenty years ago, the government had the last village exterminated for trying to infiltrate important politcal figures' heads," Medic tapped her chin.
"But these must be the last to survive! Either way, they are towers! We must help them!" Medic zoomed out of bed before she could hear the rest of the story.
Commander looked away as she got out. He still felt embarrassed about staring at her naked. "You have a whole bathroom to yourself! For shame, I could of been using it this whole time," Medic went in there and locked the door.
Commander watched her leave before throwing his legs over the mattress and sitting on the edge. He thought about Eclipse Commander's words. More importantly, he thought about who that was who smooshed him.
As he thought, there was heavy knocking at his door. Commander looked down at himself and panicked, he was naked.
"Give me a second!" he called out. Commander dived into his dresser and pulled out a pair of pajama pants. They were basic white and blue stripped.
Commander slapped on his cap and sunglasses and opened the door. Militant stood there, his foot tapping. When he saw Commander, he stood up straight and delivered the news.
"Sir! Swordmaster has returned!"
