The titans need to learn about one another.
"Hey, Nuke Boy," Sinister called out to Nuclear King who was sitting in the corner of the the airplane hanger. The titan was wearing a deep green hoodie, a neon green diamond having been printed in the middle.
It was nice retiring the heavy armor. He could get away with wearing emo jeans and special made sneakers. It was a shame he had to rip the hood over his horns.
The titan was a replica of Fallen King, but an accident from many years ago made him who he was today. He even had a funky tail with some fluff at the end of it.
The tip of tail flicked angrily as Nuclear King glared over at Sinister. The pumpkin titan was playing cards with Molten and Raider. "That isn't my name. Besides, what do you want?" he hissed.
"Come on, still mad about me beating you up?" Sinister cooed at him. Nuclear King growled, his tail swishing, "You only won because you caught me off guard like a wuss! If it was a real fight-"
"Yeah yeah, whatever. I would beat you silly either way," Sinister turned back to his cards and laid one down.
Nuclear King wasn't about to take the insulting comments. He got up and loomed over the still sitting Sinister. "You think you're so much better then everyone in this camp, don't you? You're just a little narcissist!" Nuclear King insulted.
Sinister sighed and put down his cards after Molten Boss gave him a look. He stood up and it was clear Sinister was taller. The pumpkin turned and looked down at Nuclear King, who was refusing to be intimidated.
"Okay, fine. Say whatever you want," Sinister put his hands up, showing surrender. "Sorry that I beat you a couple days ago. However, you need to stop making that little tower uncomfortable," Sinister added.
Nuclear King's eyes widened as Sinister mentioned Toxic Gunner. Angry at the sudden callout, Nuclear King angrily pushed the other titan. Sinister caught his footing as he stumbled back a bit, but he had knocked into their game of cards.
Molten Boss growled as he slammed down his cards, "I was just about to win! You assheads!" The fire titan stood up, ready to kill them both. Raider quickly scooted away to a corner so he wouldn't be caught in the middle of this fight.
"He needs to shut his mouth!" Nuclear King pointed at Sinister. Sinister slapped the accusing finger away as he hissed down at him, "Why should I? I'm telling the truth! You make him uncomfortable!"
"I can't believe you. Even with this whole alliance thing you are still the same little creep. I can't believe Void Reaver hasn't decided to banish you yet," Sinister sighed into his hands as the argument was plucking at his nerves. It was usually the other titan annoyed with him.
Nuclear King opened his mouth like he wanted to say something, but all he did was shut it and stomp his foot. His tail swished angrily as he hurried out of the airplane hanger and away, letting no one know where he was going.
Molten Boss and Sinister watched him go, a look of "tf" littered on their faces. "You think I took it too far?" Sinister asked Molten. The fire titan shrugged and crossed his arms, "I think I still hold the title for worst things said."
Sinister silently agreed. He just hoped that someone else didn't agitate the nuclear titan. They might just end up with some extra limbs if they're not careful.
"Stupid- stupid! Stupid Sinister! I'm not a creep.. you're the creep!" Nuclear King paced back and forth in the woods away from the camp. He had came here after his fued with Sinister and he was still fuming.
"What do you know about me? Nothing!" Nuclear King continued to stomp around, any ground weeds being his victims.
Nuclear King stopped to grind his heel on a particular piece of dirt. "I could crush you, melt you even! Have you apologizing for calling me a creep!" he fantasized as he made a small hole in the ground. His sneaker was dirty and he wasn't feeling any better.
Screaming in frustration, Nuclear King turned to a tall tree and ran his fist into it. The tree stood no chance as it creeked away from Nuclear King and fell to the forest floor.
It grew quiet, the only thing audible was Nuclear King's heavy breathing. Nuclear King looked over at the tree and scoffed. He took a few steps to another tree and slapped his back against it. He slid his back down it and sat there, thinking.
Nuclear King had been like this for years, many years. It was hard having someone close to you only for them to run away in terror after realizing they were radioactive.
One day, he had met Toxic Gunner. He went by "Gunner" at the time. Nuclear King tried to his best to avoid the curious tower. Toxic Gunner was in basic training and he liked to wander away. Wandering away to where Nuclear King hid was his favorite thing to do.
Multiple times Nuclear King warned him with him being radioactive or what the towers would do if they saw what he was doing, but Toxic Gunner didn't care. He saw Nuclear King as a friend and moved the lonely titan.
One day, it had all went south. Instead of showing up alone, a whole army had followed a shameful looking Gunner. The tower tried his best to convince his fellow towers that Nuclear King wasn't bad, but the two sides clearly saw past him.
One side saw a mindless monster that didn't deserve to live while the other side felt betrayed and unwanted.
In retaliation, Nuclear King did something he wish he had never done. It haunted him each night and it only ever got worse with this alliance.
Nuclear King scarred Toxic Gunner with one swipe. The towers left and Nuclear King ran far, far away.
Nuclear King snapped out of his trance. He hates thinking about those memories. It made him envious of others being happy. It made him loave everything.
The sun was still high, but it was past its peak. If Nuclear King was thinking right, he had come out here before the sun was at its peak. He must of been out for a bit. This whole time nobody was looking for him.
If he went back now, the other titans would pick on him as if they were children. It made the nuclear titan's stomach churn at the thought of being reminded of how much he messed up.
He thought about staying out here a bit longer, but a familiar (and angry) voice pierced through the forest. Void Reaver was calling his name. Sinister probably snitched on him and twisted the story to make it seem like he did this and that.
Nuclear King began to panic at the thought of Void Reaver taking his advice and getting rid of him. Void Reaver called for him again, even angrier.
Panic began to take hold of him. He had snapped at Sinister, he had done bad things. Nuclear King pushed his back against the tree as if he was trying to hide. He could practically hear the sound of Void Reaver's footsteps marching to his spot.
If he was thinking straight, he would of realized it was his pounding heart. His mind began to race. Thoughts of all the bad things he did, the people he hurt, the things he would yell at people for.
Nuclear King couldn't keep track of his breathing as his name was called out for a third time. It sounded as it were being screamed right into his ear.
He needed to run away.
Nuclear King did his best to get up, but he was shaking like a newborn deer. He stumbled around until he could latch onto a tree. Nuclear King blindly used the trees as supports as he began to pick up the pace.
He was already out of breath from the hyperventalting. His legs felt like jelly despite not running for long. Nuclear King's vision blurred and what he thought was him grabbing onto a tree was him grabbing onto nothing.
It was no surprise when he fell forward here and there. Those voices came back, more of them. Void Reaver called out for his name, Fallen King and Molten Boss did the same.
He heard Frost Spirit calling for him, he began to hear others call for him. Towers such as Commander and Medic. Their concerned calling began to sound like mocking, his mind twisting him up.
"Nuclear King! Nuclear King! Nuclear King!" the voices circled his head, their voices growing louder.
Nuclear King stopped in place and covered his ears. He couldn't take this anymore. He squeezed his eyes shut, but they just kept on screaming at him.
Then he felt someone touch him. He panicked and swiped at them, but he hit nothing. Opening his eyes, everything looked different. Everything was fuzzy and misshapen. Then there was these blobs, all of them reaching out to him.
They were all saying something, but he couldn't understand them. All he heard from their speaking was his name and that sat him off.
"Shut up! I didn't mean any of it! Go away!" he screamed at them. Nuclear King swiped at another hand trying to grab him. They were gathering closer around him. If one got too close, he would swipe at them and scream.
"I didn't do- I didn't mean- I never wanted this!" Nuclear King screamed out as he scratched at his face. The chanting stopped and the figures stopped surrounding him. The biggest figure said something to the others and they all slowly began to back away.
Nuclear King looked around in defense, waiting for one of them to pounce. He waited for one of them to start mocking him again. He waited for them to do anything.
They never did anything though. They kept their distance and watched as the troubled nuclear titan slowly began to snap out of it. The area began to get less fuzzy and the figures began to become familiar. His breathing began to slow and the adrenalin began to die down.
Nuclear King managed to make out one face. Void Reaver came into view and slowly everyone else. All of the titans were there except for Raider and Sinister, it was smart for Sinister to not come along.
"Nuclear King... steady yourself," Void Reaver spoke lowly. Nuclear King gulped and felt his pulse itch again. Void Reaver might not be the best to talk to.
Frost Spirit decided to jump in, "You are not doing well. We can't do much..." Frost Spirit got some glares but he carried on, "But these towers can."
Nuclear King growled and glared over at Frost Spirit, "Towers are the reason why I hurt the only person I ever cared about!" Frost Spirit hushed him as he stepped closer, "We don't know what happened, but things are different. You can try one more time to fix yourself, or remain in this cycle of misery."
Nuclesr King relaxed, he never thought about it like that. He has never been offered "help" before. The concept was new and terrifying, but the concept of remaining tormented also terrified him.
What if they tricked him again? What if things just keep on repeating? What if nothing changes?
"What if-?" Nuclear King tried to ask but Frost Spirit hushed him. "None of that. If you just keep on doubting, you aren't going to get any better."
Nuclear King wasn't sure about this. They don't know what he's going through. "Why should I believe you? You don't know anything! None of you do!" he accused.
The titans standing around looked at one another. Frost Spirit sucked in a breath of air and sighed. He really didn't want to talk about this.
"I was abandoned when I was chick in the Frost Deminsion. I was stuck there with only snow, ice, and the bitter wind for hundreds of years. I'm still terrified of being alone to this day," Frost Spirit admitted. Nuclear King backed off, feeling guilty.
Fallen King went next, "I wasn't born a titan. I have.. faint memories of who I was before. I had a wife and two children. I had traded their souls for power. Every day I wish I could trade my soul for theirs to be set free."
The tale made Nuclear King feel horrible. He could see the way the granite king's eyes looked down at the ground, almost as if he were wishing for his soul to be traded still.
Nuclear King froze as Void Reaver walked over and placed his hand on his shoulder. The nuclear titan nervously turned and looked up.
"Thousands of years ago, I had a brother. He was older than I was, so I followed every where he went," Void Reaver began to tell of his trouble. "We were very close. One day, he lost his mind," Void Reaver looked away as if he was seeing the memory right before him.
Nuclear King calmed and looked at Void Reaver, no longer as afraid. "I have no idea what made him snap, but he just started attacking me. So, to save myself, I killed him with his own sword. I left him where he was slain and have never went back once," Void Reaver blinked and turned back to Nuclear King, who quickly looked away.
Nuclear King turned to Molten Boss, expecting him to say something. Molten Boss quickly got the message and shook his head, "Nuh uh, not me. I ain't got a dark troubling past." The three titans that spoke before him all gave him unamused looks.
Molten Boss groaned, "Fine! If it will make you feel better. Gravedigger meant a lot to me. Fallen King was the one to find him after Gravekeeper's demise, the poor guy had no idea what was going on and he would shake like a leaf whenever one of us got near."
Nuclear King noticed how Molten Boss refused to make eye contact, an uncharacteristic trait. He would sometimes look up now and again to look at Fallen King, who also looked away.
"I was the first being he warmed up to. After that, he was the definition of a social butterfly. An annoying one at that," Molten Boss growled the last part under his breath. "Despite all that, he made me feel complete. He was insane, Fallen King was the voice of reason, and I was always the angry one."
Nuclear King began to feel bad. He was making everyone feel bad. Once again, he has ruined things. Then he remembered that if Sinister were here, he would go on about how perfect his life was.
Frost Spirit noticed that look and came over, his hand gentle and soft as he lifted Nuclear King's chin up, "What troubles you?" The ice titan let his chin go.
"Sinister... if he were here he would be mocking everyone like a kit!" Nuclear King growled. Frost Spirit sighed, he sees who the roots of his troubles were, "If he were mocking us, then he must of forgotten his own past. He doesn't forget it though, I know."
Nuclear King looked at him, shocked. This should be impossible, Sinister was too "cool" for a troubled past.
"Sinister started off as a little gourd growing it a garden. That garden was owned by an evil witch," Frost Spirit began to tell. Nuclear King was very confused, this sounded like the beginning of a trashy Halloween strory. Then he remembered, Sinister is the Halloween King.
"The evil witch went out to her garden one day and poured a potion on that particular little gourd. She has been trying to make a monster for many years to destroy cities, until then," Frost Spirit continued Sinister's story.
"Her potion did work, but it didn't create a big monster. Because she foolishly used it on a baby gourd, she made a baby titan," Frost Spirit told. Nuclear King didn't understand, this didn't sound so bad.
"The witch was angry. She didn't want a baby that was as tall as her, she wanted something to destroy these villagers now! Before she could kill him, an angry mob of villagers came marcing towards her hut. Not wanting to be burned at the stake, she ran away, leaving her creation behind," Frost Spirit said.
Nuclear King expected to hear about how the villagers beat the baby titan, but he was wrong and still not convinced of Sinister having a troubled beginning when Frost Spirit kept on going.
"The villagers were only left with the baby titan. Many suggested killing him, but none of them could bear to. So, they took the titan in," Frost Spirit frowned at the way Nuclear King angrily looked away.
Frost Spirit sighed, all he could do was continue the story, "They dressed him, fed him, they raised him like he was one of their own. He grew, but so did his power."
This is where Nuclear King got interested again. Sinister would of never hurt the ones he cared about, right?
"One day, for he was still very young, he had his first tantrum. The villagers were refusing to let him eat the sugar cane they had grown. In retaliation, he burned and stomped their village to the ground," Frost Spirit looked down, feeling sorrow for those poor people from many years ago.
Nuclear King couldn't believe it. All over sugar cane? Okay, maybe he can believe it.
"By the time he realized what he was doing, it was too late. He had destroyed his home. The remaining villagers gathered their torches, pitchforks, and swords. They ran the young titan out of town, all while chanting 'You Sinister beast'," Frost Spirit looked towards the camp, almost as if he was hoping to catch a glimpse of Sinister.
Nuclear King knew what it was like to let your emotions get the better of you. When you finally realize what you have done, you feel horrible and you just want to curl up and die.
Frost Spirit placed his hand on Nuclear King's shoulder, "What about you? What troubles you?" Now that Nuclear King thought about it, it seemed stupid compared to their stories. He shook his head, "It's nothing compared to yours..."
"No trouble is better or worse than another. Pain is pain, we are all hurt. You have told no one, maybe it will make you feel better?" Frost Spirit suggested.
Nuclear King looked up and sighed. He prepared himself for the snickering. "I was chased inside a nuclear waste container years ago. It burned, it hurt so bad, it felt as if I was being eaten alive!" Nuclear King snapped out of the unpleasant memory and looked at Frost Spirit's hands. He was rubbing them, almost as if feeling the pain too.
"I hid away for a bit. For days I tried to make the pain end, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It just stopped one day. I wasn't me anymore, I was different. I felt different, sounded different, looked different," Nuclear King didn't want to continue but he was being urged.
"Everyone, including you guys, avoided me like the plague. Everyone was afraid I was going to give them radioactive poisoning or something. Then... there was Gunner," he began to brighten up at the new memory.
"I was staying in a cave close to his camp and he found me. Instead of running in terror, he bugged me until I actually spoke with him instead of just telling him to go away," Nuclear King began to remember that happy feeling.
Frost Spirit was happy to see Nuclear King not so stressed for a moment. "He would come visit almost every day. We would talk for hours. He would talk about his family back home and I would tell him about all the places I've been. He kept on telling me to make a date and take him to those places," Nuclear King's mood began to shift.
Frost Spirit backed up, so did Void Reaver. They knew that look. It wasn't the first time they dealt with this.
"Then... th-then he betrayed me! He brought a whole army of towers, all them wanting to kill me!" Nuclear King growled. "He didn't dare even look me in the eyes, but he had the nerve to try and stand
