Just her luck. She knew the chances yet she still came along. She should have read the signs when she saw the chopped up ship and just ran away, yet she stayed with Luffy, even after they spotted him. She thought she never wanted to see him again. She thought she'd run away the moment she laid eyes on him, but when she actually saw him again since the day they parted almost two years ago....for some reason she just froze in place.

"Oh! It's him! HEY! HEY!" Luffy called out. Even though he knows Shanna and him are not exactly on good terms as of now, Luffy is still grateful to the man who saved him two years ago. "It's you! Do you remember me? Thank you for your help the other day!"

Law heard a familiar voice. He knew the Straw Hats were on this island, since he just saw part of the crew a moment ago. And now he heard the captain of the crew calling out to him. Law turned towards the direction of the voice, and there he was, the familiar straw hat wearing boy with the goofy grin on his face.

"That guy, he's the guy we met at the auction house in Sabaody," Zoro recognized.

"Well yeah, who'd you think?!" Usopp retorted.

Law's eyes widened when he saw a familiar lock of red hair. He knew that shade of red all too familiar. "Sha-" he gasped, jaws dropped in shock. Although her face was turned away, he could tell just by her silhouette. After all, they've known each other for over 13 years by now. There's no way he wouldn't be able to recognize her. "Room!" he shouted. "Shambles!"

"Ah!" the Straw Hats gasped when Shanna disappeared from the back of the alligator centaur that they forced to carry them towards the building. In a blink of an eye Shanna was right in front of Law. Law grabbed her by the arm and turned her face over to face him. Although he already knew that it was her, he still took a good look at her face to make sure.

"Shanna!" he exclaimed. "It's you! It's really you!"

"Law..." Shanna muttered, looking away, refusing to meet his gaze. He must be angry at her, disappointed in her. After all, she ran away without saying anything. She betrayed the crew. It's the code of the pirates that they kill the ones who betray them. Shanna knew this day would come sooner or later. Just as she was ready to accept whatever attack Law was going to throw at her, her eyes widened. "Eh?" She asked as Law wrapped his arms around her torso, pulling her in his chest, hugging her tightly.

"Where were you?!" Law demanded. "I looked all over that island for you! I searched everywhere for you! You didn't even have a vivre card! You know how hard it was to search for you?! Just where did you run off to?!"

"L-Law?" Shanna's voice trembled. Her eyes started to sting and her stomach started to churn. Even though she told herself that she hates him. Even though she decided that her heart won't ever waver for anybody ever again.... And yet when faced with this man, all the promises she made to herself seemed to fly out the window. Just as her hands trembled uncontrollably, lifting, little by little, as if about to hug him back, a piece of memory flashed before her. A woman....

Shanna gritted her teeth, and she pushed Law away. "Shanna?" gasped. Her blood started to boil, her brows furrowed in anger. How dare he? How dare he act like he cares about me? "Shanna, everyone's waiting for you! The other are at-"

"Stop!" Shanna screamed. She covered her ears and shook her head refusing to listen. "I don't want to know! I don't want to go back! Stop saying my name like you care about me! Just ignore me! Like you always do! I'm never going back! I ha-"

"SHANNA!" Luffy shouted, snapping Shanna out of it. She turned around to look at Luffy, who gazed at her with an intense expression. His brows tightly knitted, and his eyes wide and stern as he walked over to her. "Don't. Don't say anything you'll regret."

As if a twig on a beaver dam snapped, causing the entire thing to break down, tears started flooding out of Shanna's eyes, unable to stop. She bit her bottom lip as she sobbed, and she nodded at Luffy, grateful that he stopped her from saying something she didn't mean. She doesn't hate them. She loves them, all of them. Bepo, Shachi, Penguin, Jack, all the others! She misses them so much! But because of Law, because of her anger towards Law, she almost said something that she'll regret her entire life.

Robin walked over to the 18 year old red head, and wrapped her arms around the crying girl, comforting her. Luffy stepped in between her and Law, as if protecting her from him. "I didn't expect to see you here! Thank you so much for helping me at that time! Huh? Wait where's the talking bear and the other guys?" Luffy asked, changing the subject.

"So you made it, Straw Hat-ya. I didn't expect to see you here either, especially not with..." he glanced at Shanna, who was wiping her tears away sniffling. Seeing her safe and sound was like lifting a heavy weight off his chest. The man let out a sigh of relief. He felt much lighter now. He hadn't felt this way ever since she left. From the looks of it she doesn't plan to disappear any time soon, so Law let out a sigh of relief before continuing to talk to Luffy. "But you don't have to thank me for that. I just did it on the spur of the moment. You and I are both pirates, don't forget that."

"Nishishi! You're right. I guess we're all enemies when it comes to the One Piece, but I owe so many people for helping me two years ago. To think I'd see Jimbei and then you! I'm pretty lucky!" Luffy laughed rather lightheartedly, as if the rivalry between pirates really have nothing to do with him.

Robin patted Shanna's back. The younger girl seemed to have calm down. She wiped away the last remaining tears and took a deep breath. Robin was quite surprised. During their trip to Fishmen Island, Shanna always acted very cheerful and carefree, as if nothing in this world can get to her. She seemed like the kind of person who'd just follow the flow and let life take her wherever. This is the first time Robin has seen Shanna break down and cry.

"I'm fine, Robin," Shanna said, giving Robin a reassuring smile. "I'm just a little frustrated with myself..." Law's gaze landed on the red haired girl, and his eyes softened. She definitely grew over the past two years, not just the length of her hair but her height and muscle build as well.

They then noticed the marine laying on the ground a few meters away. Usopp was first to put the pieces together when he saw the seastone jitte and the cigars on the ground. From afar, a crowd of marines started running their way.

"This is bad Luffy! The navy is here!" Usopp yelled. However, when Luffy recognized Tashigi and Smoker, his face brightened into a big smile.

"Oh as I thought it's really you Smokey! Long time no see!" Luffy waved at Tashigi and a passed out Smoker. However, Tashigi didn't seem to be feeling the nostalgia, for when she saw the hole on Smoker's chest, tears started dripping from her eyes.

"How dare you?!" she shouted while charging at Law.

Shanna's brows furrowed. "How foolish," she muttered.

"Room," Law said. And you see Law's circle envelope Tashigi and Smoker. With two jabs of his sword in mid air, Tashigi froze. "Shambles." And Tashigi fell to the ground.

"What did he do?" asked Zoro.

Shanna simply crossed her arms and let out a soft 'hmph.' She is probably the only one who knows what Law just did. A mischievous man, as always, she thought.

"Luffy let's go! It's dangerous here!" Usopp shouted.

Luffy nodded. Just before he turned to leave, he asked Law, "Oh that's right Tra-guy, there's something I wanna ask you."

Knowing what was playing on Luffy's mind, Law pointed towards the direction they came from. "Go to the back of the laboratory. What you're looking for is there," he informed. "Shanna," Law turned to the girl. "Stay here. We need to talk."

"Eh? Shanna?" Luffy looked at the girl. Shanna sent the straw hat pirate a smile and shook her head, telling him that he doesn't need to worry about her.

"Go and save the others," she said. "I'll be fine."

"Alright. We'll catch you later," Luffy nodded, and the Straw Hats headed for the direction Law showed them. Shanna watched the Straw Hats leave, and she finally turned to face Law again, this time, calmer.

"Come Shanna, we'll talk inside," Law gestured for her to follow him. However, when he noticed that Shanna didn't budge, he grabbed her by the wrist, and started dragging her inside. "Stop being such a stubborn brat. You're 18 now, you should start acting like an adult," she expected him to say. Instead, he simply said in the gentlest tone she's ever heard him speak in, "Come on."

He led her inside, and closed the door behind them. He didn't stop, however. Instead, he kept leading her inside. "Now tell me, where were you?" he asked. "What were you doing for the past few years?"

"Just....here and there, doing this and that," Shanna muttered.

"Shanna, do you really have to be like that? I was really worried about you!" Law shouted. He halted in the middle of the hallway, and glared at the girl. Law pushed Shanna to the wall, and slammed his right forearm to the wall above Shanna's head, trapping her between the wall and his body. Shanna's eyes widened and her heart nearly stopped beating. The distance between Law's and her face were mere centimeters apart. She could feel his breath on the tip of her nose.

Stop it, she told her self. With her right hand, she clenched her coat at the area right above her left chest. Stop beating! You promised you won't fall for him anymore. Stop it!

Seeing her face turn into the same shade as her hair, Law's lips curled into a devious smirk. "You haven't changed," he whispered. "Still such a kid." At 'kid' Shanna pushed him away. Law stumbled backwards, clutching his chest, where Shanna pushed him. "Oof!" he grumbled. "You didn't have to use Haki."

"I know," Shanna replied, not to the 'Haki' part, but to the 'kid' part. "And you don't like kids, so leave me alone." She turned to leave, hoping that she'd still be able to catch of to Luffy and the others. There's nothing she has to say to this man anymore.

"Shambles."

Shanna gasped when she found herself in Law's arms. She saw Kikoku drop to the ground where she once stood. "L-Law! What the he-"

"You're right," Law cut her off. "I don't like kids...."

Shanna struggled to break free from Law's grip, but the more she struggled the tighter he hugged her. His breath tickled her sensitive ears, making it hard for her to even think straight. She tried her best to focus only on breaking free, but the next thing she said made her freeze in place, "...but I like you."

After a long moment of silence, Shanna finally seemed to process what he just said. "Wha-....." she breathed in disbelief. Her lips curled upward just a little, as if she just heard a funny joke, the girl couldn't help but chuckle. Finally coming back to her senses, she broke free from his grip with armament Haki. "Since when did the almighty Captain Trafalgar Law stoop so low? Am I really that important to you? To the extent you'd tell me such an outrageous lie to get be crawling back to you?"

Law's brows furrowed. His silver orbs locked with Shanna's ocean blue eyes. His expression was serious, and his eyes were genuine. "One, that's not a lie. And two, yes, you are that important to me."

Shanna felt as if her insides were torn into pieces. Part of her wanted to throw herself in his arms and never, leave, and the other, more rational part of her told her this was just another one of his tricks. She wanted to cry, to leave, to get out of this place. She felt like she'll go crazy if she stayed with this man any longer. Her breaths started to become unsteady, and her lips started to quiver. Memories started flooding back, overwhelming Shanna with emotions she couldn't handle. A salty, liquid drop rolled down her cheek, and she was finally able to choke out, "You liar."
