As soon as Naruto and Sasuke contacted Chronos, they instead went flying into a wall.

"WHAT THE!?" Naruto shouts as he rubs his leg for comfort. Sasuke shoots him a dirty look. "Naruto, why the hell did you go after Chronos, maybe if you just stayed put we would be-" he paused. Naruto looked at him questioningly. "What is it?" "Where did his... whatever it was, send us?" Sasuke asked himself while looking around, not expecting Naruto to know a thing. They were in a very small room, with a red table, three seats, and 2 large red doors. "Stand back Naruto!" Sasuke shouts, Naruto complying. He gets into a fighting stance, ready to kick the door open, but instead the doors slide open with a ding. "Huh?" he whispers.

The 2 doors reveal a very dark and dirty large tunnel that looks like a sewer. There are about a hundred people, a few looking over in his direction. Sasuke jerks his head over to a small and odd-looking man next to the door. "WHERE THE HELL-" "Hello! Welcome to the hunter exam, please take your number badges-" the small man interrupts, handing Sasuke a white circle that has the number 117 displayed in big black letters. Sasuke takes it. "Be sure to wear this on your chest at all times and be care full not to lose it. you too!" the man says, as he also hands one to Naruto with the number 118. Before Sasuke could ask any more questions, mainly- 'what is a hunter exam, who are you, and how did we get here?' the small man had already walked away.

"Let's go, Naruto." he says, walking out the door. The room's energy was dark and tense. "Maybe it would be best if we don't tell anyone where we just came from, I don't like the vibe in here..." Sasuke whispers in Naruto's ear, who gave a nod. They sat together against a wall, to better observe the other actions. Sasuke wanted to refrain from asking any of the people around them questions, as they might be attacked.

After a minute or so of close observation, a large but short man wearing a blue vest and the number '16' made his way toward the two boys. "Hi! I'm Tonpa, you two are rookies, right?" Sasuke wanted to send him away, but feared how the man might react. "that's right, and?" he said, with a hint of annoyance. "It's nice to meet you, what are your names?" he asked innocently. Sasuke was thinking up some quick aliases. "IM NARUTO UZAMAKI, AND THIS IS SASUKE UCHIHA!" Naruto shouted with a huge grin on his face. The entire room turned to look at the pair. Sasuke hit Naruto hard on the head. "You dumbass! What the hell are you thinking giving them our real names!" Sasuke whisper/shouted into Naruto's ear. He rubbed his ear with a pouting face.

"Oh, well, uh... let's make a toast to friendship!" Tonpa said while reaching into his bag, extracting two orange soda cans, handing one to each of the boys. "All right!" Naruto exclaimed, taking one of the juices. "Uh, no thanks." Sasuke said, setting the juice next to him, causing Tonpa to be suspicious. Naruto clicked off the tab, and Sasuke's eyes widened. "Naruto don-" he started, but Naruto already chugged half the can. He gave Naruto a stupid look, while snatching up the can from him and setting it aside. "Naruto... YOU DON'T TAKE FOOD FROM STRANGERS!" Sasuke screamed at Naruto, not trying to hide his annoyance anymore. Tonpa soon walked away with a malicious grin on his face. "He definitely put something in your drink..."

After what seemed like hours Sasuke started to take note of some people who stuck out or might be enemies to him and Naruto in this "Hunter Exam." First there was number 44. He learned his name is Hisoka. The tall man has red hair and looks like a clown. He disintegrated a man into flower petals, which really freaked Sasuke out. The next was number 99. Sasuke couldn't figure out this kid's name, but the boy has white hair and bright blue eyes. He rides around the contestants on a skateboard and managed to down multiple of Tonpa's drinks as a joke because he "is resistant to all poison." And there are 3 more. 403, 404, and 405. All three of them avoided Tonpa's trick on account of the youngest's (405) suspicions, who's name is Gon. The other two are Kurapika and Leorio. Sasuke explained these all-in hushed tones to Naruto, who barely listened.

A light purple haired man who sported an ugly mustache entered the exam. "I am the examiner for the first phase of the exam, my name is Mr. Satotz. Please follow me to the second phase of the exam." Is all he said before marching forward into the tunnel. "Let's go Naruto." Sasuke said, grabbing his hand and dragging him forward. "We need to figure out a way back home, so lets just pretend we are taking this exam like everyone else until we can." Sasuke said to Naruto, pulling him close so no one else was able to hear. "Yeah, yeah..." Naruto shrugged it off, uncomfortable with Sasuke holding his hand. Meanwhile Sasuke was only doing so because he thought Naruto was too much an idiot to not get lost.

The examiner's strides were too large to keep up with at a walking pace, so instead they slowly jogged for a while. "Geez why is everyone so slow?" Naruto muttered, as they were in front of everyone else, and it was hard for them to keep at such a slow pace. Many people heard him though and were thoroughly offended. Naruto sighed, putting his hands behind his head as if he were relaxing. "What's a hunter anyway?" "WHAT!?" Sasuke yelled at him while smacking Naruto on the back of the head. "Why are you so stupid?" Sasuke scowled.

Mr. Satotz seemed as though he wasn't surprised by the question. "Well, you see, a hunter is someone who has taken this exam to obtain a hunter's license. Hunters can do a lot, like get into privet country's and use privet services that may not be available to most of the public. A hunter's job is to do more dangerous things that the average person can't." and the examiner left it at that, allowing Sasuke to think about it himself.

Hours later, about a third of the four hundred or so people had already dropped out. 'weaklings' Sasuke thought. The pace had also greatened since then, but the two boys still were unable to run like they do on missions. More of a fast-jogging pace. Sasuke was lost in thought when he suddenly got jolted to focus from Naruto's loud stomach. He raised a questioning eyebrow. "Naruto, what's the matter, didn't you eat this morning?" Sasuke asked. "Well yeah I had instant ramen but..." his stomach let out another loud noise. "It's probably from that spiked drink you took." Sasuke shook his head while looking back at Tonpa, who let out a large grin. "Awe man, I really have to go..." Naruto said through a scrunched-up face. Sasuke looked over at him with disgust. "It's your own fault for being so stupid, Naruto.

[I'm going to take a little break for a day or two from writing, because I've written 2 chapters in 1 day.
