To celebrate 100k reads, here is the next chapter of "My Student". I don't know why, but I think it's one of my favourite chapters so far.

Thank you guys so much for 100k reads, it honestly means so much to me and a Special thanks to everyone who has been following this story for a while now!

I dreaded the next morning. I dreaded it so much that I just ignored my alarm and stayed in bed. Usually, I get up at 5:30, this morning, however, I turned off my alarm and the next time I looked at my clock, it was already 6:30. "Shit, shit, shit." I cursed and threw the cover off of me. School did not start until 8, but I usually got there at 7:15 to prepare for the day. On top of that, I liked to take my time in the morning. This fine Monday morning, however, I rushed through my morning routine and when I finally jumped into my car, it was already 7:30.

I hurried to school, with my thoughts jumping back and forth between yesterday's events and the upcoming senior trip that I was going to attend as a chaperon.

I had no idea how I was going to act around Marc. I had a lot of fun with him, I always have. Marie and Ella, who are my best friends who I trust completely, know that there is something between us and I doubt they would tell me to stop whatever is going on between me and my student. Even though Marie is my colleague, she does not seem to have a problem with this relationship. Of course, no one except them could find out about it. We would get in a lot of trouble if the school would find out.

"Dammit!" I hissed while parking the car in front of the school. We're not even together and here I am worrying about people finding out about us. How paranoid would I be if we would actually get together?

Of course, I could try to focus on my job and spend time with my friends to distract myself from my conflicting feelings surrounding Marc. If I would be interested in a ny other guy, that would be easy, but no, I had to fall for a guy that I see every day at work and that even my friends cannot shut up about.

He was everywhere. When I walked through the front doors of the old main building, which was kindly held open for me by one of my freshman students, the first person I made eye contact with was him. Not being prepared to face him just yet, I quickly lowered my gaze and rushed into another hallway, which was not even close to the teachers' lounge. When I finally arrived there, I put away my stuff and made myself a coffee.

"Good morning, friends!" I heard a cheerful voice coming from behind me. I turned around and saw Marie making her way towards me. "Morning." I smiled at her and turned back around to get my hot drink.

"I just talked to Mr. Jefferson in the hall. He said he is going to send me the registration forms for the senior trip later and we can hand them out to them in PE today! Isn't that exciting? Oh, I can't wait!" I laughed at her. I wish I shared her excitement about the trip. I already knew I was going, but I didn't expect a lot from the week-long trip. I'm pretty sure the only thing I would be doing was making sure that none of the kids ends up in hospital with an alcohol poisoning.

"Mhh, it won't be fun looking after all of them. I hope it won't be too exhausting. Sure, it's a trip to a town at the beach, but I don't think we'll be able to enjoy it too much..." I stated whilst sitting down and opening my laptop to prepare for the day.

"Well, at least you have someone special on this trip with you." She winked at me and had a knowing smile on her lips. I was yet to tell her and Ella about the kiss, but even without that knowledge, my colleague continued to make innuendos whenever there was a chance for it. "God, I wish I could spend a holiday on the beach with that guy I met last week." Surprised, I looked at her.

"What guy? Why didn't you tell me you met someone?"

"Well, it's not really that serious yet. We're texting, but we still have to go on our first date."

"You better keep me updated on that, girl!" I said.

"Sure. And you know what? If you need someone to cover for you so you can sneak out with your lover during the trip, I'll be your wingman. Or wing-woman. Does that word even exist? Urgh, I don't know, but you know what I mean." I only rolled my eyes and looked back at the screen in front of me.

When it was time for me to teach PE with Marie, I started to feel knots forming in my stomach. I had yet to really face Marc and I had absolutely no clue how I would react if he was to talk to me. While changing into my sport clothes, Marie printed out the registration forms for the senior trip which we were going to hand out at the beginning of class.

"Let's go." I muttered to myself after I tied my shoe laces, took my water bottle and made my way to the gym.

After the forms were handed out, it was hard to get the seniors to do anything at all during the lesson. Everyone was talking about the upcoming trip, which was a month away. They asked us questions, because Marie and I were both going as chaperones, and already made plans for the free time they would have each day.

Five minutes before the end of the lesson, Marie and I were exhausted from all the explaining we had to do, so my friend ended the class early. "Okay guys, I think we've told you everything we know about the trip. If you have any more questions, please ask Mr. Turner. He's also coming and I'm pretty sure he would love to chat with you guys." Everyone started laughing, including me. Mr. Turner was a forty-something year old Maths teacher whose only goal it was to stay as young and hip as possible. He always talks to his students as if he was one of them and it was really funny to watch him trying to keep up with today's slang and clothing trends. Don't get me wrong, he's a super nice guy and gives great advice, but everyone makes fun of his desire to stay young from time to time, teachers as well as students.

The class started to make their ways to the locker rooms while Marie and I made sure that all the equipment we used was put away correctly. As I was leaning down to grab a gym mat, I heard someone clearing their throat behind me. I stood up again and turned around. It was him.

"I- uhm, I wanted to know if maybe we could, uhm-." He was nervous. I could tell not only by his stuttering but also the way he ruffled his hair with his hand while looking at the ground. "Look, I know that this isn't a great place to talk about it. Us. So, Emma has been begging me to ask you to come over again with Lilly, so I was wondering if maybe you were free this afternoon?" He asked without taking a breath inbetween. When he was finished, he looked at me with his big brown eyes. It felt like he was staring straight into my soul. Like he could read my thoughts and emotions.

I looked around to see if anyone was still in the gym, but no one was there. Marie must've already left. I took a small step towards Marc without even realizing it.

"That-, that sounds like a great idea, but I already have plans this afternoon." He looked disappointed when I said that and I let my gazy drop to the ground.

"That's okay." He whispered, while ever so slightly touching my hand with his. I looked at what he was doing, enjoying the gentle touch that was barely one.

"How abot Saturday?" I quietly whispered while keeping my gaze on our hands.

"Saturday sounds great." He whispered back, his lips centimeters away from my ear. The usual confidence in his voice was back, mixed with what I could only interpret as joy. I looked back up and saw him staring at me.

"Mae!" I jumped back a few steps, bringing as much space between me and my student as possible in a matter of a millisecond. Marie was standing in the doorframe. She had a knowing smile on her lips. "I need you to order the new equipment we talked about." My date from last week called and I need to hurry cause I'm meeting him in an hour!"

I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Sure. I'll do it after I changed."

"Great, thanks! Oh and by the way- I didn't interrupt anything, did I?" She smirked before turning around and running off. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. This girl really is something else...

Embarrassed, I turned back around to face Mar. His face was priceless. While I also heard him chuckle when Marie mentioned her date, his eyes were now filled with shock. I had never seen him like this. Usually he acts as if he is the thoughest guy at school, especially around his friends and classmates, but now he almost seemed scared of what Marie might think of the situation she had caught us in.

"It's okay, you don't have to worry about her." is all I could say before starting to make my way towards the changing room. Once I was inside, I let out a big breath and tried to calm down. Why did Marie have to make that last comment about interrupting us? I made a mental note to myself to pinch her the next time I see her.

After I got into my normal clothes, I made my way into the small office next to the gym that was open to the gym teachers to plan their lessons or wait in until the students got changed.

I grabbed the note Marie had written with all the equipment that needed to be ordered. While I was looking up all the things, I heard someone walk into the office. I looked towards the door just in time to see Marc, who was now in his normal clothes, too, close the door from inside. He must've taken a shower, because his hair was damp. Before I could ask him what he wanted, he started talking.

"I forgot something earlier." With that, he leaned down and placed his lips on mine. I was in shock. Here I was, sitting in an office at the school I was employed at and my senior student, who I was falling for more and more with every nice gesture he made and every nice word he said to me, was kissing me. It wasn't a very complex kiss, our lips were only touching, nothing more, nothing less. Marc was the one, who broke the kiss. He put one of his hands on the back of the chair and put down a piece of paper on top of Marie's list.

"My number. I thought it would be easier to talk about Saturday if you had my number." He said wih a calm voice. I looked at him and he was looking at the computer screen in front of me. "Don't take these weights. We had them for soccer and they sucked. Coach got us these better ones, wait, what was the company's name again..." he trailed off before typing something on the keyboard. After a minute of him intensely looking at the screen, he exclaimed and stepped away from the computer. "Take these." He said, before giving me his attention again. "I cannot wait for Saturday. Honestly, I mean it. I know we cannot really... talk, here at school. But that doesn't mean I'm not thinking about you. About... what happened." Marc brought his hand up to my face and gently put a strand of my loose hair behind my ear. I put ma hand around his and intertwined our fingers to show him I was feeling the same way.

"I gotta go now, the boys are waiting for me in the parking lot." He said softly. He gave my hand one last squeeze before making his way out of the office.

On my way home I kept replaying the kiss and the way his hand felt in mine and one thing was for sure: I couldn't wait until Saturday either.
