There were many tables and beds arranged in the large room. A few workers passed by, oblivious to the conversation taking place in the corner of the room.

"Do as we say," a boy said. He was much taller than the others and had a cunning smirk plastered across his face.

"Are you scared, child?" One of the three boys, who was standing along with the tall one, asked. He was thin and mean-looking, like the other two.

The little boy whom they cornered looked like he was about 7 or 8 years old. Tears filled his eyes, and he shook his head desperately, shielding his toys from them. He had found some in dumpsters and on the road. Some were his Christmas presents as well.

"Hand us that toy of yours," The tall one repeated. The three boys walked closer to him and started laughing, looking at his fear-stricken face. "It's mine," he hiccuped as tears streamed down his face.

The scene started to get blurry as they started walking closer to him. Before Jina could figure out what was happening, she woke up with a fright. She was sweating badly. She opened the window near her bed and slumped down.

"Who was it?" she whispered as she fell back on the bed, exhausted.

"You have to meet your mom?" Luna asked on the phone.

"Yeah, she asked me to visit her during the weekend," Jina responded.

Jina was walking across the pavement in front of her house. Luna had called her in between, and she remembered it was already the weekend.

"Should I set you up on more blind dates?" She asked. Jina chuckled nervously. "Can we talk about something else?" she asked.Β

They both spoke for a while about yesterday. After Luna hung up, Jina thought about what her mother might have to say.

Around half past 10 in the morning, she got ready to visit her dear mother and checked her phone. Jin had sent her a text; she chuckled as she looked at his contact name.

"Serves him right."

'The new employee will arrive on Monday; make sure you guide him well,' it said. Jina responded with a thumbs-up emoji and switched off her phone.

She stormed out of the house with the car keys tucked safely in her hand. She looked beside her and noticed Jungkook's house, which was locked from the outside.

"He must be busy," she whispered as she made her way to the garage. She got in the car and turned on the engine. "I wish I could talk to him," she said.

Jina parked her car and stood in front of her mother's house. It was surrounded by lush green plants with vibrantly colored flowers. She was careful not to step on them as she made her way to the door.

"Finally, here I am."

She shoved her keys into her pocket and walked toward the door. She took out her phone and checked her appearance for the last time. Her dark hair was put into a high ponytail, and her eyes were dazzling under the morning sun.

She knocked on the door and waited for a while. After a minute of waiting, her mother opened the door. She was wearing an apron and took the gloves out of her hand. "Good, I was expecting you," she said.

"Were you baking?" Jina questioned her mother as she made her way inside the house. The wonderful aroma of desserts welcomed her.

"Yes, dear," her mother replied.

She sat on the sofa and waited for her mother, who went to the kitchen. Soon she came, and both of them made themselves comfortable on the sofa. Jina hugged a cushion that was placed on the sofa and looked at her mother.

"Now, how are you, sweetheart?" Her mother asked while she placed the tray filled with cupcakes and drinks on the table.

"Did you sleep well?" she asked as she noticed Jina's eye bags.

"You have sharp eyes, Mother," she laughed. "I keep having bizarre dreams at times," she continued, rubbing her eyes, which were still exhausted from the lack of sleep.

"It happens; make sure you take care of yourself," her mother replied. Jina gazed at her concerned mother and smiled.

"Why did you ask me to come over?" she asked curiously.

"Oh yes, I forgot. You are turning 22 this year. There are a few things you must know that are very important." Her mother paused.

"What important things?" he questioned.

"Soulmates," her mother said. "I want you to visit every weekend, so I can brief you about it."

"Is it that important, Mother?" Jina asked. "In this world filled with soulmates, why wouldn't it be important?" Her mother replied with a smile.

"Which brings us to today: who are soulmates?"
