Technoblade POV
It was night weather, a cold evening; the perfect time to do some potato farming. Though every day was the best time, with the sun going down and the vegetables struggling to grow in the darkness, harvesting had to be done immediately. Grabbing an Unbreaking Three Enchanted Hoe I got to work, cutting down and replanting the seeds. It was peaceful labor, a rhythm of life that I had gotten used to. My braided pink hair swinging in the wind as I moved my tool, this pattern happened over and over again until I got a very intriguing message from Skyblock Admin.
A white envelope dropped onto my head and I picked it up off the ground. Reading aloud I monotoned, "All big-time Hypixel Skyblock players will receive an assistant to help with farming, fighting, expanding, and learning the way of life here. This is temporary, and once they learn the ropes our moderators will give them permission to leave your islands and begin their own futures. However, if both of you agree, your intern can stay as long as they like. It is mandatory, and this period of mentoring time will last three months. Make sure you do a good job preparing them, if you do well, you might get a big reward," I thought this over. It was certainly an interesting concept; after all, it would give me some assistance with my potato farming. In fact, you could say it was possible I was even excited for this. Deciding to build a house for my upcoming guest, I ordered some spruce wood; it was time to get creative!
Y/n POV
I was in the Hypixel Skyblock lobby, running back and forth trying to find an open moderator who would be able to take me to my mentor's island. It had been a long awaited dream to come here, something about the wind blowing madly and being that much closer to the sun elated me. The massive floating islands each holding their own story... I couldn't bear the wait any longer! Pacing back and forth in the line behind the other waiting players, I prayed that I had come early enough to get a spot.
Finally I got to the front of the line where a smiling Admin-Assistant shuffled around some papers before handing a stack to me, "You're lucky!" She seemed almost honored to talk to me, "There are only four spots left! Please fill out the forms here so we can match you up to the best person with your personality type," She instructed.
I sat down in a nearby chair, feeling a bit sorry for the other people being rejected towards the back of the line. They should have come sooner! Ignoring the crying and sadness now surrounding me, I finished filling out the forms and handed the paper, clipboard, and pen on a string to the still smiling assistant.
"You done sweetie?" She kindly asked. I nodded my head. Despite this progress towards my destiny, I was starting to lose my patience now.
"Ok then! Let me just see who you match up to. Feel free to help yourself to some snacks! This might take a while," she laughs a bit, then turns and goes behind some curtains where I hear her typing something. There was no way I could eat anything, I was too anxious despite the yummy-looking mini-sandwiches and other assorted treats.
About an hour later, she handed me a slip, before shooting me an apologetic look and quickly trying to tend to some angry people that didn't get their long-awaited chance to get into Skyblock.
Trembling, I read the paper, and shocked I repeated the name over and over again. Technoblade. I got TECHNOBLADE!
Technoblade was... "The Blade." "The Blood God." "The Orphan Slayer." The BEST Skyblock player! I sprinted to the nearest portal; it had to be a prank or something right?!? Maybe this was all just some dream!
I fell down, my head hurting; I had smashed directly into the portals frame when I got distracted. At least this wasn't a dream. Grumbling to myself, I threw the book/card into the portal, lighting it up into a different color, then jumped through. The pinkish-hue portal. I was about to meet my idol!
Technoblade POV
I heard a whirring sound. Rotating from reading my book, The Art of War, I saw my intern arrive. She had lovely E/c eyes and H/c hair. She also had a bit of a sparkle in her eye, as if to take in her surroundings. It reminded me of myself; back when I most innocent.
"Hello!" waving of my hand, and not wanting to come off as threatening, "You must be my new little helper?" I said a bit sarcastically.
"Uh, yes! My name is U/n, but you can just call me Y/n! Y-your actually Technoblade, I seriously can't believe this! You're my literal hero!" She trembled in eagerness.
"Just call me Techno!" I replied, "You're not a Techno stalker Stan right?" I actually a bit tensely worried.
"No," She giggled a bit, "Just a regular fan here!" I already loved our banter. She seemed lovely and already anxious to learn. The matching people had done well; this could be the best three months of my life!
"I should probably get you situated," I accidently monotoned a bit, "I have a guest house."
She fiddled with her backpack string, "Okay- sounds great!"
Following me away from the spawn-portal, she seemed a bit nervous. Understandable. I lead her up a path through some grass and opened the doors to the quaint house. It wasn't much- three rooms; living/eating, sleeping, and a restroom. It had been the best I could do with the little time I was given, but she seemed to be plenty okay with this, checking it all out and unpacking a few items.
"I can make it bigger if-" I began, but she cut me off.
"No no! This is fine! Better than fine! It's great! There is no need for you to accommodate me any further! I'm probably a bother already..."
The seemingly unappreciated girl panicked.
"Maintain calm!" I had no idea what to do, "Sorry, I'm not really used to human interaction," I bashfully tried to explain how weird I was being.
Y/n giggled at this and I felt myself blush- WAIT. NO. Regrouping awkwardly, I managed to stutter out, "I'll leave you here, let me know when you finish unpacking and I will give you a tour."
Y/n POV
That was a nice encounter, I thought to myself, intrigued by this hog-like person. I took out a few items from my backpack, the normal things, clothes, tools, weapons, etc. The only picture of my family I had then slipped into my hand and I sighed, here come the memories.
We had been in a different world; many people lived there, but it was just me, Mom, Dad, and my younger brother in our little old-fashioned home. They were the whole reason I was here... Minecraft Griefers had overridden our world, causing it to be unlivable. After that we all got separated, my Mom and Dad seeking refuge in a little known server called Winterlost. I had followed them there, but with so many people fleeing from our world there weren't enough resources for everybody and I had to leave. My brother left sometime during the middle of a TNT explosion to who knows where, none of us could find him. This picture was the last one; they had given it to me and told me to find my brother. That was three years ago- I had completely given up. I never went back to my parents after I called them and found out they also hadn't found my brother, I just felt like a disappointment, a failure. L/b (Little Brother Name) had always been favored over me, being the youngest and all. I bet if I had gone missing they wouldn't have even cared.
I put the picture of us all standing in front of the house on the nightstand, just wondering if I was even worth remembering about.
Focus on your mission! The voice inside my head practically screamed. The whole point of me coming here was to learn and create a new home for my family. Maybe they had found my brother; it had been about a year since I had talked to them!
My entire life since that fateful moment when the Server IP had been leaked to hackers I had jumped around from place to place, server to server, now I could finally settle where I would hopefully belong for the rest of eternity, Hypixel Skyblock.
