"Well that was fun." Reed says sarcastically getting into the pickup.

"It wasn't too bad." I say putting my seatbelt on. We both laugh.

"Dairy queen or Sonic?"

"Sonic!"

"That's what I thought." I felt my phone buzzing and I pull it out of my pocket. I open the text and it's Ryder. 'Im going to moms this week. And dad took a night shift.' I put my phone back in my pocket.

"Who was that?" Reed asks.

"Ryder, he was just telling me he's going to our moms this week." We pull into sonic and order. Reed would occasionally lean over and take a bite of mine. I got strawberry cheesecake, and he got Oreo. The best flavors ever.

After we talked for a while, we headed back to my house. We got there and Reed came inside to get his clothes.

"See you at school tomorrow." Reed says hugging me and walking out the door.

"See ya." Right as I hear his car door shut, I run to his car. And knock on the window.

"Stay here. I don't want to be here alone." I say after the window is down enough for me to talk.

"Isn't your dad home?"

"No, he took a night shift. He won't be home tell around 6 in the morning."

"Ok." He says turning the car off. We walk back inside and he sets his clothes in Ryder's room.

"You wanna watch a movie?" Reed asks. I nod my head and pick out a movie. I hold up The Lucky One. Reed gives me the really? look and I nod. He grabs the movie and puts it in.

"I'll make popcorn." I say walking to the kitchen

"Yumm! Extra buttery?"

"What other kind is there?" I say putting the popcorn in the microwave. It gets quite for a couple minutes. Then I feel a hand gently pull my arm. I am within inches from Reeds face. Next thing I know, my lips crash into his.

"You have no idea how long, I have wanted to do that."

"I have an idea." I say smiling and looking into his eyes.

*Next morning*

I wake up and hear a car door shut. Is Ryder home? This can't be good. I know this will make him mad about Reed. I get up and go downstairs. I see Reed walk in with Dutch Bros.

"Gimmie gimmie!" I say reaching my hands out. He hands it to me. "Mmmmm, thank you. This is my favorite."

"I figured you would like the one with Carmel."

"You were right on." I say with a big smirk.

"Good." He smiles back.

"I should probably go get dressed for school." I go upstairs and get ready.

I come downstairs and Reed is watching family guy. "You ready?" I ask him.

"Oh, yeah." He says turning the T.v. Off.

We walk out front and get in. School is only about 5 minutes away from my house. So we just talked a little about how exited we are for school to get out.

We get to the school, and he parks next to Jackie's car. I don't think he knew though. He turns the car off and we unbuckle. He comes over and opens my door. Before we got into view of Jackie's car, he kisses me. He smiles and I smile back at him. He starts to walk away. "See you second period." He says turning around real quick. I walk over to Jackie's car and get in.

"So, you got anything new to tell me?" She asks. Did she us? I don't really want anyone knowing because they will probably tell my brother. I don't think he would like having his sister date his bestfriend.

"Ummm, I had a milkshake for dinner, and coffee for breakfast. That's about it." I say trying not to laugh.

"Really? Your not gonna tell me what just happen over there? You got out of his car, and then you guys ki-"

"Ok, ok, ok!" I say cutting her off.

"Spill!"

"I don't know what there is to spill. I don't know what to think about it. I really don't know how Ryder will feel."

"Why does that matter?"

"Because he's his bestfriend and I'm his sister. If he was dating you, I would be weirded out."

"Have you talked to Reed about this?"

"No, I haven't really had time. I want this, I really do, but I don't know if I can."

"You CAN, it's just the question if you WILL."

"I know. I just don't want to ruin anything."

"Do it before its to late." Right as she says that, my brothers ringtone goes off. He normally calls, even if I'm sitting next to him.

'Hello.'

'Can you come to my car? I have to tell you something, and you probably don't want to hear it over the phone'

'Yeah, be right there.'

I tell Jackie I'm going to his car and I get out. I walk over to his car and get in.

"What's up?" I ask.

"It's mom. You are not gonna like this. She said she wanted to tell you herself, but I'm telling you now."

"What is it Ryder?"

"Mom's getting married." I was speachless, and a little mad. It took me a minute to talk again.

"When did this happen?!"

"Last week. She wants you to come to dinner at her house tonight. I already met him. Just beware, he has a daughter, she's about our age. And a son, but he didn't want to come."

"Yay a step-sister." I say with no enthusiasm at all.

"She said you can bring a friend if you want. I brought Bo." Bo is another one of his friends.

"Why didn't you bring Reed?" I asked knowing why.

"He said he was busy last night. Something with family."

"Well, did she say she would call me?" "Ya. After school." I get out of the car and walk to my first period class. I was pretty mad. Especially cause she told Ryder first.
