-Y/N-

After the reunion of the families, a peaceful silence settled over everyone. I was still very drained from using my powers, so I sat next to Peter, both of us wrapped in a blanket.

Then suddenly came a bird, twittering and flying low. At first, I thought it was a normal bird, but on its leg there was something tied.

Susan reach forward to the bird gently, pulling out the paper. The bird flew away as soon as its burden was unloaded.

"What it is?" Lucy asked.

"It's a note from Aslan, he wishes us to meet him at the entrance of his country." Susan spoke.

"Asian's country!" Reepicheep piped up. "Oh, I must accompany you."

"Let's prepare a boat." Edmund suggested.

And so, a boat was prepared. We set off into the direction that the map supposedly told us was the "edge of the world".

At first, we thought we must be going in the wrong direction, but soon the water had white flowers floating on top.

"We must be close." I said. Peter reached below and took a flower. He then placed it behind my ear. I smiled, looking away. We were married yet every glance his way felt like the first time.

"So, what was it like when Aslan changed you back?" Lucy asked Eustace.

"No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't do it myself. Then he came towards me. It sort of hurt, but it was a good pain. You know, like when you pull a thorn from your foot. Being a dragon wasn't all bad. I mean, I think I was a better dragon than I was a boy, really. I'm so sorry for being such a sop." He looked down ashamed.

"It's okay, Eustace. You were a pretty good boy too." I smiled at him.

The boat came to a stop as it hit an island.... if you could call it that.

There was a vast stretch of land, going possibly hundreds of miles on both the right and left side. But looking forward, there was only a gigantic wave, blocking any view of the island ahead.

"My friends, we have arrived." Reepicheep said in awe.

"Welcome, children." Aslan stood before us. "You have done well. Very well indeed. You have come far, and now your journey is at its end."

Yes, it was. That meant Peter and I could return home and enjoy the rest of our year peacefully with each other.

"Is this your country?" Caspian asked.

"No, my country lies beyond."

"Is... my father in your country?" Caspian questioned, unsure.

"You can only find that out for yourself, my son. But you should know that if you continue... there is no return." Aslan warned.

Caspian stepped forward to the wave, but then retreated back.

"You're not going?" Peter asked.

"I can't imagine my father would be very proud that I gave up what he died for. I spent too long wanting what was taken from me... and not what was given. I was given a kingdom. A people. I promise to be a better king." Caspian explained.

"You already are." Peter put a hand on his back.

"Your Eminence... ever since I can remember, I have dreamt of seeing your country. I've had many great adventures in this world... but nothing has dampened that yearning. I know I am hardly worthy... but with your permission, I would lay down my sword... for the joy of seeing your country with my own eyes." Reepicheep bowed in front of Aslan.

"My country was made for noble hearts such as yours... no matter how small their bearers be." Aslan nodded. "No one could be more deserving."

Reepicheep turned toward Lucy, she was already tearing up. "Goodbye, Lucy. Don't cry."

Lucy knelt down and hugged Reep. "I don't understand. Will I not see you again? Ever?"

"What a magnificent puzzle you are, and a true hero. It has been my honor to fight beside such a brave warrior... and a great friend." Reep hugged her tighter. After a moment, they let go. Reepicheep turned towards the massive wave. "I won't be needing this." He took off his sword and accessories as he walked through without another word.

Aslan then turned to all of us remaining.

"Children. Your time in Narnia is almost over." Aslan began. My heartbeat quickened at his words. I don't think this adventure took us more than a month or two. We should have more than half a year ahead of us.

"But didn't you say we had a year?" I spoke up.

"I never accounted for this quest. After this, there is no purpose for you to stay. The Old Magic has decreed it so. I could only bargain for a day more. You must prepare to leave tomorrow."

Aslan voice became slightly muffled as my insides twisted. It felt like a knife had been plunged in my stomach.

"You promised." I croaked, tearing up.

"With my magic, I can send everyone aboard your ship, and you, to the palace right now. Get some rest and sleep. At noon tomorrow, gather in the courtyard to say your farewell." He ordered.

My knees gave up and I fell to the ground. The sudden thought of leaving Narnia was hitting me hard. It felt like my breath was taken out of me.

"You will be alright dear ones." Aslan looked at all of us pitifully. Then he shook his mane and roared.

Warm air caressed all of us. So much so that our surroundings started to disappear. When the wind cleared, we were no longer on the beach. We found ourselves back at the Palace.

There was unusual silence hanging around. No one said a word as everyone scrambled to where they needed to be. I saw Caspian and Susan walk off deep in conversation.

Peter knelt down and helped me up. "We can't let this happen." He muttered.

I looked into his eyes, they were filled with determination. I mirrored it. "We need to talk."

Peter curtly nodded and we both made our way upstairs to our bedroom. Peter shut the door as I paced the room. Outside, the sky was already darkened.

"We need to find a way out of this." I said.

"But how? Aslan will expect us to show up at noon." Peter countered.

Then suddenly I stopped and realized something. I knew what I was going to ask for was crazy. I strode up to Peter and took his hands in mine.

"Run away with me, Pete. We can run far away from here and hide from Aslan, like the Narnians did from the Telmarines." I told him. I could tell he was thinking.

"We could leave tomorrow after breakfast, so as to not raise suspicion, but before noon." He planned out.

"Let's pack right now." I agreed and he smiled. He leaned down and pecked my lips.

"Nothing can keep me from you, not Aslan, not the Old Magic." He vowed, touching his forehead to mine.

We stayed there for a moment before parting and packing our bags. I shoved the most comfortable clothing into a small sack as Peter did the same. I didn't know how long we'd be running, but Narnia had ample food and crops growing in the nature, so we didn't pack any food.

I closed my pack then watched him struggle to close his. "What do you even have in there?" I asked as I walked up. Below his stack of clothes, I saw a familiar looking package. I pushed aside some of the clothes to reveal the wedding gift he meant to give me.

"Peter..." I looked at him, a small smile on my face.

"I meant to give it to you when we successfully run away... when we're at peace." He replied shyly.

"I waited months, what's another day." I shrugged, placing a small kiss on his cheek.

When we were done at last, we trudged over to bed, tired. I had forgotten we had also fought a sea serpent before this. I wanted to spend this night with Peter in a more... romantic way, but we both decided that we'd have plenty of time for that once we ran off.

Now, we only had a couple hours to sleep before breakfast, so both of us were snoring in seconds. It seemed like barely a minute that I had slept when I heard pounding on the door.

"You two are late for breakfast!" Lucy's voice sounded.

"Coming!" Peter croaked, getting up from the bed.

We didn't bother taking too much time to get ready. A quick shower and changing into comfortable clothes was enough.

We went downstairs to find everyone sitting around the breakfast table. They were all in their finest clothing and jewelry. Of course, they wanted to leave Narnia looking their best.

But Peter and I didn't plan on leaving.

I could see Susan take her eyes over my dress in confusion. I sat down beside her and started to lay out my napkin on my lap.

"You look a bit underdressed. Did no one tell you you're supposed to dress your best the day you leave Narnia... it's almost like a celebration." She said the last words with a tinge of sarcasm.

It was anything but a celebration.

"I wasn't in the mood." I replied which was partially true.

Susan didn't ask any more questions as our food got delivered. Everyone ate in silence. With the action-packed day yesterday, and such a big thing today, no one was in the mood for light chatter.

"I just wanted to say, I've enjoyed every moment with you." Peter announced to everyone, raising his glass of juice.

"You've become more than friends, you're all family." Caspian added, raising his as well.

"You have protected me from so many threats, and loved me unconditionally." Lucy smiled, doing the same.

"You helped me grow stronger, made me believe in things I wouldn't have thought possible. Like talking beavers." Susan laughed, joining her glass.

"You forgave my mistakes, saved me multiple times, and fought by my side bravely." Edmund grinned.

"You helped me belong in a world which I felt out of place in, giving me the adventure of a lifetime, thank you." I said to everyone.

We all clinked our glasses and took a large sip. It was something about verbalizing our gratitude that there were suddenly tears in my eyes. I blinked them back and continued eating.

I would miss all of them dearly...

After breakfast was over, everyone dispersed to make their final preparations for the Farewell while Peter and I returned to our room.

We grabbed our pack and walked over to the balcony. "Ready for this?" Peter asked as he looked down to the ground.

I hauled a piece of rope over, securing it to the balcony. "Yes." I gritted.

Peter went first, climbing down the rope. I followed promptly behind him. Once we reached below, we trekked off to the direction of the forrest behind the castle.

We were just about to be hidden by the trees when I saw a golden glimpse behind me, near the castle. It didn't take me long to figure out I had seen a bit of Aslan.

I didn't know if he had seen us, but nonetheless I started to jog. "I think Aslan may have seen us." I told Peter, who started jogging as I did.

I thought we were safe as we entered the forrest, but then I heard a strong voice in my head.

Don't do this Y/N...

I looked at Peter at the same time he looked at me. It seems as if he'd heard the voice too. It was Aslan, somehow conversing in our heads. We only picked up our pace, running deeper in.

You can't fight the Old Magic, stop...

I huffed, pushing the thought aside. I could fight the Old Magic.

I would fight the Old Magic if it came to it.

But just as I thought that, the floor beneath my feet erupted and I was thrown to the side by some invisible force.

I groaned as I lay on the forrest floor. "Pete..." I mumbled, getting up slowly. There was a ringing in my ear. I heard no response. "Pete... are you okay?" I got up and brushed myself off.

I looked around and saw him getting up in the distance. It seemed he was saying something... but I couldn't hear him.

"Pete!" I shouted. But he only brushed himself off and looked towards me. He said something but I pointed to my ear and shook my head.

Neither of us could hear each other.

He screamed, I think it was my name, and started to walk towards me. I did the same, my heart pumping so loud I felt it would pop out of my chest.

I went forward to be in his arms when suddenly I was stopped a centimeter before I could touch him.

He pounded on what seemed like an invisible wall between us. I pounded harder. "Pete!" I shrieked, trying to break the wall.

We were both struggling on opposite sides. Unable to hear each other, unable to feel each other. My shouts turned to tears as I helplessly hit my fist against it.

I warned you this would happen...

Well... I wasn't going to let it happen.

I motioned him to step back, and he did. I wiped my tears and stepped back myself. I concentrated on the power inside of me.

I called it forward and it came rushing quickly, eager to get out. I forced it to condense and strike the wall between us.

At first, I was unsure whether it would work, but my doubts were cleared once the wall shattered into a million pieces.

Using that much power consumed me, but I managed to stumble forward into his arms.

"Y/N..." He whispered.

It was so good to hear his voice again.

"Peter..." I sighed, resting my head on his chest.

"How are we going to-" He started to say when suddenly something happened. I lost my support and fell down.

"Y/N!" Peter kneeled below and tried to help me up but....

his hand went right though me.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped in disbelief. I reached forward to cup his cheek... and I couldn't touch him.

Now hot tears poured down my face. He was right in front of me, and I couldn't even touch him.

"Peter what- what is this? What's going on?" I scrambled. Even my powers couldn't help with this.

"I don't know." He looked out into the distance, a single tear sliding down his cheek.

"Peter, I feel weird inside...almost like I'm made of air. Pete.... I feel like I'm going to disappear any moment." I sobbed out clutching my stomach.

But Peter was silent and expressionless, looking far in the distance. All I wanted was to look into his bright blue eyes once again. "Y/N." He quietly said.

"Yes?"

"Please don't forget me." His lower lip slightly trembled as his eyes finally met mine. And I thought my heart would break right there and then.

Seeing him vulnerable, kneeling, and crying was something I physically couldn't handle.

"I promise I'll never forget you." I choked out.

"Good." He smiled, closing his eyes.

Then he vanished in thin air.

I let out a guttural scream, launching to where he was a second ago. Like a mad person, I called out his name over and over again, almost picturing him hiding behind a tree, only to pop out and say "I was just joking!"

But that didn't happen.

Instead, I felt myself start to fade as well. So, I just stared up at the sky.

It was such a deep blue. The sun gloriously filtered through the canopy of the trees. The trees' leaves were emerald, green, striking contrast in my eyes.

And the soil... oh the soil was so soft that... I could just close my eyes... and fall asleep....

forever.....

I gasped as I sat up. My breath was hitched as I frantically patted the mattress underneath me. I almost didn't recognize where I was.

Until my mother came into the room.

"Nightmare?" She asked as she entered.

But there was pure panic on my face. I couldn't even talk.

"Y/N.... are you okay?" She came over and put a hand to my forehead. "You're burning up!" She exclaimed.

"Narnia..." I mumbled, tears starting to form in my eyes.

"What?" My mother was confused.

"Peter." I blatantly said, pulling the covers off my body and sitting with my legs dangling off the bed.

"Who's that?" My mother had a concerned tone.

"What day is it?" I asked, interrupting her.

"What do you mean Y/N? You just came back from school with that enormous book."

Book

I launched out of bed and went over to my table where the book lay. I picked it up and held it close to myself.

"Y/N what is wrong with you, put the book down." My mother demanded.

"It's fine mom... I just thought I lost it." I lied. "I'm fine." I couldn't tell her about Narnia. She'd just take me to a therapist or something.

My mother eyed me silently. "Who gave you that book anyway?" She asked.

Just a substitute teacher. I think his name was Mr. A or some-" I froze.

Mr. A

I knew why Aslan looked so familiar.... He was Mr. A!

"I need to get to school." I blurted suddenly. In our school, the library would still open an hour after school ended.

"What, why?" She exclaimed.

"I need to return some books." I made up as I pulled on a jacket. "Be right back." I said, leaving the room.

I practically ran to the school at this point. I rushed inside and went straight to the library.

"Whoa slow down." Mr. Carter smiled as I ran inside.

"I need to speak with your substitute." I spoke quickly.

Mr. Carter's face dropped to confusion. "What substitute?" He asked.

"The one that was here during the school. His name was Mr. A." I told him.

Mr. Carter shook his head. "There was no sub today, Y/N." He informed me.

"That's impossible. He gave me this book." I reached in my pack and took out the large leather book. I handed it to Mr. Carter who took it in his hands.

He turned it over and then flipped to the first page. His eyes glanced around the page, but then he promptly closed the book completely.

"No title, and nothing written in the pages, are you sure you're alright Y/N?" My stomach dropped as I took the book back from him.

"I'm sorry, I think I was mistaken." I stepped back, my cheeks burning.

"Y/N-" He called out, but I was already running away. I couldn't breathe. Everything inside me felt twisted and weird.

I ran out behind the school to the forrest. I ran until I couldn't run anymore. I stopped and fell to the ground on my knees.

I finally took out the book with shaking hands. Indeed, the gold lettered title of Narnia was gone. I slowly flipped to the first page. My worst doubts came true when I saw there was nothing written.

The page was blank.

Silent tears rolled down my cheeks as I set the book down. I looked upward to the sky, closing my eyes. The rain mixed with my tears as it poured down my face. A dead weight settled in my chest.

Already Peter face was disappearing from my memories. Did he have freckles? I couldn't remember how the Narnia pines smelled like. Or how the Narnian sun felt on my skin.

It felt like Narnia never existed.

It felt like he never existed.
