Iron Man increases his speed to try and escape.
"That bogey just went super sonic." Whiplash One said, surprised by Iron Man's sudden burst of speed.
They fired a missile at Iron Man but he countered with flares.
(1:21:04 - 1:21:45)
"Flares to counter projectiles while flying. He really came prepared for any situation." Izuku noted. "And according to that pilot, the Iron Man Mark III is capable of reaching supersonic speeds during flight."
"It certainly is an impressive piece of technology." Power Loader said.
Iron Man continues flying as the pilots shoot at him with machine guns. He then deploys flaps to halt his movement, causing the pilots to zoom past him and lose sight of him.
(1:21:45 - 1:22:00)
"Flaps to help lose enemies during air combat." Izuku noted.
"That's really clever." Melissa said.
The pilots assume that Iron Man has been dealt with.
Rhodey then gets a call from Stark. Stark explains that the piece of equipment the pilots are firing at is actually him in a suit.
(1:22:00 - 1:22:43)
"Well maybe now that Rhodey know's it's Stark, he'll call off the pilots." La Brava said.
"That's not his call to make." Aizawa said. "The Major has to call them off."
As the pilots are about to leave, Whiplash One notices Iron Man hiding on the belly of Whiplash Two.
Whiplash Two attempts to shake Iron Man off of him by doing a barrel roll. He succeeds but Iron Man is then launched into Whiplash One, taking out one of their wings.
(1:22:43 - 1:23:02)
The audience became concerned for the pilot.
"The fool is going to get someone killed." Endeavor said.
"But he didn't do that." Uraraka said.
"It doesn't matter." Aizawa said. "When a hero arrives on the scene, any collateral damage that occurs will be on them."
"That's why as heroes, you'll need to reduce collateral damage as much as possible." Thirteen said.
"That's stupid." Toga said. "How can you blame someone for damage they didn't cause."
"You wouldn't understand." Nighteye said.
For Kota, this scene showed more of what he'd expect from a hero. While the previous scenes showed Iron Man saving people, this scene showed someone about to die because of him. While Kota can't say that Iron Man did anything wrong, he still put someone in harms way by playing hero. This scene made Kota feel more justified with his opinions towards heroes.
Whiplash One ejects but their chute gets jammed.
(1:23:02 - 1:23:31)
"A faulty chute?! Are you kidding me?!" Kirishima said.
"Iron Man has to help him!" Momo said.
The audience hoped Iron Man would save the pilot.
Iron Man flies after Whiplash One, attempting to save them.
Major Allen commands Whiplash Two to reengage Iron Man. Rhodey tries to convince Major Allen not to but they don't listen.
"You have been reengaged. Execute evasive maneuver." JARVIS recommended.
"Keep going!" Iron Man ignored.
Iron Man made it to Whiplash One and punched their chute, causing it to deploy and saving their life.
The soldiers celebrated.
(1:23:31 - 1:24:08)
The audience celebrated along with the soldiers.
"Thank goodness the pilot is safe." Iida said.
"Excellent work, Iron Man." All Might said.
Iron Man then successfully escaped. Rhodey called Stark again.
"Tony, you still there?" Rhodey asked.
"Hey, thanks." Stark responded.
"Oh, my God, you crazy son of a bitch. You owe me a plane. You know that, right?"
Stark chuckled. "Yeah, well, technically, he hit me. Now are you going to come by and see what I'm working on?"
"No, no, no, no, no, no, the less I know, the better. Now what am I supposed to tell the press?"
"Training exercise. Isn't that the usual BS?"
"It's not that simple." Rhodey said.
The scene then cut to Rhodey telling the press that the incident was a training exercise.
(1:24:08 - 1:25:00)
"It's really that easy?" Uraraka commented on the excuse.
"You'd be surprised what people will believe." Nezu said.
"Anyway can we talk about how awesome Iron Man is." Kaminari said.
"He's incredible!" Mei said. "So many new ideas!"
"He managed to save all those people. Yinsen would be proud." Jiro said.
The audience was very proud of Stark. He had single-handedly saved Gulmira. He protected all those people and stopped the Ten Rings.
The students began to admire Stark the way they admire other heroes. For them, watching Iron Man battle the Ten Rings felt like watching hero fight's in their world.
The Pro Heroes were also very impressed. While Stark did make a few mistakes here and there and they didn't approve of his lethal methods, he still managed to protect the civilians and ensure that nobody died on his watch. There's room for improvement but he has earned the title of hero in their eyes.
While most of the villains don't care for heroics, they did enjoy seeing the Iron Man stop the Ten Rings and help people like a hero should. The villains hated the Ten Rings. They're just a bunch of power hungry terrorists.
Izuku and Eri loved seeing Iron Man in action.
Izuku had just watched Stark become a hero without quirk. As his eyes began to fill with tears, his hope that he could become a hero continued to grow.
Much like Izuku, Eri began to admire Mr. Stark more and more. First he had managed to save himself. Now he had managed to save others. Eri was beginning to understand what a hero is. But she wondered why no hero has come to save her. Maybe all heroes aren't like Mr. Stark. The thought made her sad. She wishes Mr. Stark were in her world. She knows he'd save her, he'd beat Overhaul. If only he were there.
The audience had just witnessed the Iron Man's heroic debut. With the battle of Gulmira over, the Age of Heroes has begun. They couldn't wait to see what would come next.
