The shield knights charge us simultaneously as Kirisai puts Zan's arm around his shoulder. I swing out both blades, each in the opposite direction of the other. They pushed heavily against my blades but I keep them in place. My arms shake a bit from the pressure and I spot Kirisai moving Zan to the far wall, away from the fight. A giant sword lifts up in the skeletal hands, almost reaching the ceiling of the area. My eyes widen as the blade slowly begins to descend.
Pushing off one shield and striking away the other one, I roll towards the largest knight. It wears small pieces of iron based armor on its hands and feet. The helmet on its head looks to be pure steel. Whereas the other two wear rotten leather helmets and have iron pieces wrapping up their legs.
The blade crashes into the ground behind me and I sprint towards the hilt of this massive rusted iron blade. Several chips and scratches lay out on the blade. As I reach the end of the blade, a wave of dust envelopes the area blinding my vision. I quickly shut my eyes and raise my guard. I am can not afford to make mistakes here. I leap into the air and come face to face with the colossal knight. It swiftly hits me with a back hand and sends me flying to the wall.
Falling out of the wall I begin to pick myself up as Kirisai runs to my side. "You alright?"
I nod and notice my health bar is a third of the way gone. As I stand up straight I sheath both of my blades. Kirisai looks at them as Zan walks behind us. Zan has a few small balls of light floating around him but they only give a small bit of range.
Zan clears his throat but we keep our eyes on the enemies. "So whenever you guys feel like telling me what we are fighting I'll be all ears."
"Giant skeleton soldiers, two with shields and one with a great sword." Kirisai speaks up a bit waiting for a move to be made.
"Really", Zan questions as his voice changes from irritated to kind of excited at this point. "Step aside bitches time for your lord to save the day." Zan slams the base of his staff into the ground and a magic circle forms around us. The circle begins to grow and spread all about the cavern. The knights begin their charge as Kirisai and I start to run in front of Zan.
"Zan watch-", my sentence is cut short of the creatures stopping mid stride.
They stand frozen like a statue. The circle continues to expand and begins to climb up the walls. The knights begin to have a green glow begins shine out from their eye sockets. Several small green lights begin to shine from within the walls themselves. The lights in the walls begin to move towards us, at a terrifying speed. While they lights move the sound of a multitude of things crawling and digging about fills the air.
"Yea thats not creepy at all", Kirisai jots in as the lights grew closer.
They all stop short at the base of the walls and await for a command. The knights drop to one knee and bow as the lights pulse lightly from the wall. "Into formation, all of you!" Zan exclaims at the top of his lungs and echoes in a demonic like tone. Bodies being to burst from the walls in groups of tens maybe more. Some were half rotten others were fully decomposed. There are a few that were only upper halves of the body and crawl out, like a chaotic demon. They all surround the knights in a giant circle. Some imitated the act of still breathing by their shoulders and chest moving. Each one of their hands lay bare and awaiting further command.
Zan waves his and yells, "Destroy them all", and the carnage began. The swarm encased the knights, they gave bit of a struggle but were no match for the wrath laid upon them. It was a matter of seconds and the knights' bodies are broken apart and laying about. A massive door creeks open as the room we stand in begins to light up a bit with torches. The swarm turns to face the door and charges in without Zan having to say a word.
We stand there as Zan pivots to face us with a cheeky smile. "Necromancer skills at their finest. I'll await for you to thank me anytime now." Cocky prick.
A lot of crashing and crunching noises come from the next room and I peek around Zan to see what might be going on. The swarm is gone, like nothing there, no bones, no nothing, just an empty room. There is a single ray of light and alone stands what looks to be a child in a long tattered off white nightgown. Her hair is long and dark, exceeding down to her waist.
I stand back up straight and look Zan dead in his face. "How about you turn around and try not to swallow that foot of your buddy?" Kirisai peeks around eyes widen and then zips back to Zan and nods quickly in agreement.
The look on Krissy's face means he sees it clearly enough too. On the waist of the little girl is book strapped firmly to her side. Thats the item Zan wants so badly. As he begins to turn around it made me wish I had a camera in this game, oh wait. Zan gazes at the next room and his jaw drop a bit. His eyesight isn't as good as ours, but he can see that his army is gone from existence. And I mean as in gone gone like no evidence that they existed gone. His head falls back a bit, looking up at the sky, and he swears loud. He does a bit of a rant for a good few minutes as we just watch him. Kirisai leans over to me a bit notices and whispers, "Are you getting this?" I nod all while trying to muffle my laughter and he smirks a bit. "Good we will need this next time he wants to pull this kind of crap again."
Zan regains himself and we walk to the door. No one says anything, we want to save it for afterwards. The little girl raises her head and two light brown eyes look up at us. She raises her arms, as if gesturing for a hug and says in a soft childish tone, "Come play with me."
"OH FUCK NO", we all exclaim in unison. Kirisai and I shoot an arrow at it's face as Zan launches a fireball, as big as a he possibly can at it. The arrows faze right through the girl and the two of us step back. However, once Zan's fire ball hits a cord connecting to the little girl's back is scorched, our eyes follow the cord to its origin. The cord trails up to the ceiling and stops between two massive yellow orbs, the size of boulders, staring down at us.
"You have gotta be shitting me!"
