Mustang Omega was the second Mark-6 Jaeger built during the war. Launched in 2020, it was stationed at the Los Angeles Shatterdome, but was moved around a lot.

Mustang Omega was a state-of-the-art machine with all the latest advancements in Jaeger technology, including digital systems with an analog backup, improved targeting systems and motor-response programs, and a specialized paint that was proven to be highly acid-resistant in tests.

Mustang was colored jet-black with red trim and a sleek body that called to mind the compact but powerful frame of a runner or swimmer. Twin finlike crests sprouted from the tops of its shoulders and ran down it's spinal strut, ending at the small of its back, and thick panels were set in its chest, doubtless meant to slide aside to reveal internal weaponry.

One of the new advancements that was planned to be integrated into the Mark-6 program, Mustang Omega was originally going to be operated by an external piloting system, which will enable it to fight without placing pilots in unnecessary danger. Rangers were still going to operate it, but would do so from the safety of a mobile piloting chamber, far away from the actual fighting. This way a Jaeger couldn't be incapacitated by the destruction of a cockpit, and it wouldn't risk the lives of the Rangers. However, this idea was declined, and Mustang had its Conn-Pod put back on.

Mustang's first kill was in December of 2020, squaring off against a Category-4 known as Katschei.

It later fought another Cat-4 5 weeks later, Kali. Ultimately, the Jaeger killed it, but BARELY...

Mustang's final Deployment saw it partner up with the recently relaunched Lucky Seven, the last Australian Mark-1 Jaeger, Piloted by 2 RAF Pilots, on April 1st, 2021.

The 2 Jaegers held their own against a huge Category-4, codenamed Ferno.

The beast ended up tearing Mustang Omega to shreds, and nearly burned both it and Lucky Seven down. Lucky managed to finish off the Kaiju, but had to be pulled off the Deployment roster for emergency repairs.

Mustang was later repaired and restored after the War, taken to the Panama City Shatterdome alongside the recently rebuilt Cosmic Apogee and Strider Zeta.
