Y/n's POV
Dream
I open my eyes to find myself laying inside a crooked flower that is glowing dark red. My surroundings become clearer after I blink with my eyes a few times. 'Where am I?' I question.
I rise to my feet feeling confused. An odd sensation of dread washes over me as a red orb rises from my chest. I gasp in discomfort and clutch my chest. I look at the orb floating in front of me when an unpleasant, booming voice rips its way into my ears.
"That is your Soul Vessel. Take it and find what you must. Do it to show your worth" the voice commands. I want to refuse but my hand moves to grab the so called Soul Vessel. When I touch it strings of black and red attach itself to my arm and cover my hand and arm almost completely.
There are three open spots in the substance. 'They look like holes... Like something is supposed to go in there...'. I remember the booming voice. I notice the strings slowly pulling me into one direction. "Find what you must..." I repeat out loud as I follow the guidance of the strings.
The world around me is incredibly dark. It's neither day nor night. It's an eclipse with luminescence embers flying through the air. There are no trees, only burnt grass. I stride through it like a mindless puppet.
I only have one goal. If I find what I must maybe I can get out of this weird place... The pulling stops when I find an abandoned pouch. I lean forward to inspect it. Right when I am about to touch it the strings loosen form my arm to absorb the item.
"Good. Now find the rest. You must prepare..." the eerie voice returns. 'Pre- pare...?' I think confused. What am I supposed to prepare for? This? This world? If so, then why do I have to find random things...
I shake my head and decide that I will question these strange happenings later when I'm out of here.
With the pouch in my Soul Vessel, the strings start pulling again. This time I don't look around, I just keep walking. 'I want to do this. I want this over with' I think determinedly.
The next thing I find is something that looks familiar... I can't really place my finger on it, but I let the strings absorb it into my Soul Vessel again. "Was that a carving knife?" I wonder out loud. I shake my head again and the ominous feeling disappears. Now I just feel calm. I know what I must do, and I will.
It doesn't take me long to find the final item. But when I find it... My breath hitches in my throat.
"It's.....Sky's sailcloth..." I whisper eyeing the bloodied cloth. "He would never leave it behind... He cares too much about it so why...? Why is it here? Covered in blood... What happened to Sky?". I fall down to my knees feeling horrified.
The dark strings try to steal Sky's sailcloth but I hold it close. Whatever happened to him I will try to keep this safe.
"You don't want to fight this. My champion, you HAVE to be ready to do what you are here for". I cover my ears in the hope of silencing that horrible voice. However it doesn't help, it only gets louder and louder. It keeps repeating the same sentence.
"YOU DON'T WANT TO FIGHT THIS. MY CHAMPION, YOU HAVE TO BE READY TO DO WHAT YOU ARE HERE FOR" it booms. I scream in pain, blood starts to trickle form my ears.
'I just want the pain to stop. My head will explode! Please I will do it!'

Sky's POV
Tonight is my turn to keep watch. It is pretty uneventful until y/n starts to toss and turn. I figure she is having a nightmare. 'I wonder if I should wake her up?' I contemplate. I decided I would wake her up especially when I hear her breathing heavily.
"Must be a really bad nightmare" I whisper with sympathy. Right when I am about to touch her, she begins to scream and hold her head. Her uncomfortable expression turns into one filled with pain. I quickly begin to shake her to wake her up.
It takes a few tries but luckily she awakens. She opens her eyes and gasps. Tears rolling down her cheeks. I can hear the others shuffling behind us. I ignore them and pull her into my lap. "S-Sky?" she says with a broken voice.
"Shh, I'm here. Everything is ok" I calm her. She lifts her arm and pulls it around my waist, hugging close. "Is she alright?" Wind asks behind me. 'I almost forgot about the others'. I look down at y/n. "I believe she just had a really horrible nightmare..." I reply.
"Sky?" y/n gets my attention. "Could you please stay with me for the night?" she asks. I nod and start to lay down next to her. Still holding her close to me.
"I'll take the watch from you" Warriors says while positioning himself by the campfire. I thank him for is mindfulness.
I glace at the young Hylian woman in my arms who is now sleeping more peacefully and I swear I will protect her in silence.
---Twilight---
Y/n's POV
Dream
My vision is black and my body trembles. I can't feel my eyelids touching and conclude that my eyes must be open. 'Why can't I see?' I wonder, slightly panicking. I twist around on the floor in hopes of seeing some sort of light.
I tilt my head to the right and feel a sense of calmness washing over me once I see a little island in the distance.
"Yes," a rough voice startles me. "You must go there. Do anything you have to do to get there" the voice finishes its previous sentence. Something tugs at my core and I feel my body lifting itself of the dark floor.
I start to walk to the island. It is the only thing I can see, there is nothing else in this dark abyss. I don't really know why I have such a strong feeling of determination to get there. Almost as if it is my purpose to get there and I must do anything to reach that goal.
I continue to walk. A dagger appears in front of me, the knife part of it being twisted. "I need to pick it up..." I whisper while crouching forward. I grab it. A strange power flows through the weapon. For some reason I know it is dangerous.
I place it back down and give it one more uneasy look before continuing. 'Someone used that dagger once and I believe it was for dark, selfish reasons...' I think.
Luckily the island is getting closer into view. Invisible threads guide me further and further until the island is right in front of me. I try to set foot on the piece of land, but an unknown force is stopping me.
"You must be willing to do anything, my champion" the horrid voice speaks up.
Suddenly the force holding me back materialises into a hand holding onto me. It pulls me away from the island and... my destiny. Its hold is starting to hurt and I look at the thing that won't let me go.
"Twi-.... Light...?" I question. His back is turned to me and he reluctantly lets go. I take a closer look at him and notice the dagger in his hand. 'That's the same one I saw before. What is going on?'. "Twilight?" I question again.
He slowly turns around to reveal his empty white eyes and a bleeding chest wound. I stumble back in shock. "Wh-what happened to you?" I ask him. He abruptly falls backwards.
"My champion you must do it" "Do what?! I don't want to!" I scream back at the ominous voice in my head. The booming voice does not seem to like my answer. It starts to shout, louder and louder and louder. "DO WHAT YOU MUST, IT IS YOUR PURPOSE!!!".
I can feel my ears beginning to bleed. I scream and fall to the ground, darkness slowly swallowing me.
"Please stop! Just STOP.... I'll do it!!!" I shriek in pain.
Reality
Twilight's POV
A continues shuffling wakes me. I rub my eyes and feel the movement becoming more desperate. I sit up and look to my left. I find y/n twisting and turning on her bedroll. Her face is displaying all sorts of emotion. None of them positive.
'She is having a horrible nightmare' I think. I look up from y/n's sleeping figure and meet Time's worried eyes. "I'm on watch duty and tried to wake her up when I noticed but I can't seem to shake her awake" he admits.
"Twi-.... Light...?" she questions softly. "Yes y/n?" I ask her only to discover she was talking in her sleep. 'Does this mean she is having a nightmare about me?' I ponder. "Twilight?" she asks again. Her face looks confused and I take a hold of her hand.
"I don't know if this will help you but... I am here y/n" I try to reassure her troubled and unconscious mind. She abruptly starts to gasp and plead. "Time what do I do?" I ask my mentor in hopes of getting an answer that will help the trembling woman.
"If we can't wake her, we have to wait until she wakes up herself. Then we can comfort her". After what feels like hours she finally awakens.
She quickly sits up and I move closer to hold her. "Twilight!" she says desperately. She throws herself at me and starts to feel my chest. "Are you...are you hurt?" she questions while still having both hands on my chest.
"Y/n I don't know what you dreamt about, but It wasn't real. I'm fine, see?" I say while taking her hand and pressing it above my heart.
Once she feels the steady beating she seems to calm down. Tears fill her eyes as I put my arms around her. "Shh, it's ok. Everything is ok". Time stands up and gives me one last look signalling me that he will go back to his night watch.
I take of my pelt and put it around y/n and me. she sighs contently and falls back asleep. This time without nightmares.

Y/n's POV
Dream
An unknown force urges me to open my eyes. When I do, I also realise I am sitting upright on the floor with my back against some type of wall. With the support of the wall, I rise from the floor. For some reason the feeling of exhaustion mixed with uneasiness courses through my body.
I look at the wall that formerly supported my back. It's a broken ruin. "What? Oh no, not again. How did I get here?" I ask out loud, unamused and confused. I let my eyes roam around the scenery. There is not a thing in sight other than ruins and grassy plains.
Suddenly a loud voice rips its way through my ears. "You need to succeed. Do NOT fail me or try to defy me". The voice is laced with unspoken malice and it sounds.... ancient.
I wonder to who the voice belongs. 'Do not fail me...' its words circle through my head. My legs start to move forward without my command. Like a machine of some sorts I walk forward. Objects start to appear in my peripheral vision.
I regain the control of my legs and now force myself to approach the strange things on the grass. I clamp my hand over my mouth as I gasp.
In front of me are Hylian soldiers. All of them are laying in a pool of their own blood. With great speed I rush forward, pressing my middle and index finger on one of the soldiers neck. "H-hey..." I try even though I feel no pulse underneath my fingers.
Once I realise that he is dead I swiftly stand up. I have only one thought running through my mind. 'Look for survivors'. I stride through the mass of bodies trying to find at least one person who survived whatever calamity happened here.
My attempts are in vain. Nobody, not a single one of them, is alive... I slump to my knees. "Of what catastrophe is this the result?" I sadly question out loud. The silence is once again disturbed by the horrible voice.
"They failed their Goddess. That filthy Goddess's Champion failed too. But you, you did well" it booms. My heart stops. 'Goddess's Champion... that sound like...!? Wild!!!'.
I start to run like I have never ran before. All I can think about is Wild. I need to find him. I NEED to find him!
I after what feels like hours of running a blue blur appears in my eyesight. My breath hitches in my throat. "W-Wild..." I shuffle forward. His eyes are closed. I turn him from his side onto his back and into my lap.
My hands are shaking as I desperately try to find a pulse, a breath, just something. But I find nothing...
"Rise now my champion, rise and do what you need to!" the booming voice commands. "No no no no!! I don't want to! Leave me alone!" I scream back. The thing that is the owner of the voice did not like my attitude. Pain begins to creep up from my hands all the way to the rest of my body.
I double over in pain, still clutching Wild's body close to mine. I gasp, squirm and plead but the pain keeps increasing. "Oh please stop! I'll rise, I'll do what you want!" I finally screech, giving up.
Reality
Wild's POV
My journey made me a light sleeper. I always had to wake up if I heard the smallest sound because you never know what it could be. A bokoblin managed to surprise me in my sleep once, but never again.
Even know when I'm travelling with a group that I can trust, I still wake up easily. So when I heard soft gasping I was up and ready to fight. I stand there for a hot minute before I realise that there is no danger nearby.
'Then what was that noise?' I wonder until I hear it again, this time much clearer. It's y/n. She is the one that is gasping in what sounds like... pain?! I run to her side to see if she could be injured. Luckily there is no bloody spots on her person or bedroll. I softly put my hand to her head to feel if she has a fever.
That's not it either. "I guess she's having a really bad nightmare..." I sadly say. I know all about nightmares. After I met y/n they started to disappear though. Maybe I can try to wake her up.
I reach for her shoulder to gently wake her up but before I can even lay as much as a finger on her, she jumps up. Y/n looks around in pure terror before locking eyes with me. I can see the tears welling up in her eyes.
Suddenly she lets herself fall against my chest, squeezing the back of my tunic with her soft hands. "Wild..." she croaks quietly. Hesitantly I pat her head. "It's ok I'm here" I try to mimic Twilight's voice whenever he tried to calm me down.
It works. She slowly pulled away and puts a hand on my face, directly on my scars. Usually, I would flinch away but for some reason it's not uncomfortable. I lift my hand and place it on hers. "You're ok" she sniffles. I nod. "I am fine y/n. No need to worry".
Unconsciously we reposition ourselves against a tree that is conveniently right behind us. The eyes of the girl in my arms start to close and I mutter one last word of comfort before she drifts of back to sleep.
'I will make sure the nightmares won't bother you again y/n. Sleep tight...'
---Warriors---
Y/n's POV
Dream
"-oldier? H-y... Soldier!" a voice brings me back to the present. A blurry figure in front of my eyes becomes clearer. It looks like a Hylian captain that is shaking me by my arms. "Soldier you've got to be ready! We are fighting a war here!" he shouts. I blink the last specks of blur away as I nod.
The man lets go of me and returns to his place. I lean to the front to see rows and rows of soldiers. All of them dressed in heavy armour. I shift in my place to glance behind me. 'I guess that man was right. We are fighting a war here!' I think, looking at the many lines of soldiers. The surroundings are just simple grassy plains and a hill right in front of us, making me unable to look too far ahead.
"My Champion, you shall fight! It is your purpose. Now go and do what you must!" an uncomfortably loud voice rips its way through my ears. I grunt, feeling as if I just got burnt by something as simple as a voice. But before I can think more about it another scream echoes through the plains. "Here they come!!".
I automatically grab a weapon and shield from my body that weren't there before. I look at them for a few seconds and realise I am wearing the same armour as the other soldiers. Suddenly a horde of monsters run over the little hill showing me what we're supposed to fight against.
In the front their leader storms forward. They are covered in dark green armour that covers every part of their body except their mouth. They look just like an evil Hylian. The soldiers that, I suppose are my comrades, dash forward to meet their opponents head on.
"Go!" the stinging voice screams at me over the sound of clashing metal. My body feels light and agile as I jump into the battle. 'This will be fine. I know this is what I should do' I think before I lift up my sword to slice a monsters head off its neck.
My enemies fall down around me like flies as my body moves on its own almost like a puppet, and before anyone can say "Oh goddess", I am face to face with the leader of the monster army. Upon closer inspection I believe it is a man and not just a monster.
He kills one of my allies that tried to attack him from his right when he was focused on me. He slowly looks back, studying my face. Blank faced I ready my sword. "Do it" the once loud voice now whispers.
I catch my opponent's sword mid-air when he tries to attack me first. With an unfamiliar wave of strength, I throw him back. My h/c locks whip around my face as I jump into the air and land on his chest, plunging my sword straight into his heart.
I stand back up and let my eyes wonder around the battlefield but the sight that I see was not one I expected. All the Hylian soldiers are on the ground, unmoving. I am surrounded by the monsters I defeated or... thought I defeated.
"Good job my Champion you will bring me to victory". "Wha-..." I turn around in confusion. My eyes widen when I spot the enemy captains corpse. It doesn't look like the monster I killed. Instead, the dead body of Warriors lays in front of me with my sword in his chest.
"No... no you were a monster..." I mutter before realisation dawns upon me. 'I killed him... I killed Warriors'. I scream in terror and rush to his side. My hands flying over his body searching for something I can do to bring him back but, he's already cold.
"What have I done.... No...no.... NO WARRIORS!" I scream pulling my hair. "You will succeed" the evil voice that deceived me booms. I continue to scream and beg for it to leave me alone. The defiance must have annoyed it for pain overwhelms me causing me to curl into a small ball.
Reality
Warriors' POV
Small hands shake me until my dream completely disappears. "Warriors" the concerned voice of Wind makes me open my eyes. "Wind? What's wrong?" I question however, I get my answer of what is wrong when a scream scares me enough to sit up.
"It is y/n. We think she is having a nightmare, but we can't wake her up" Wind explains while urging me to stand up. The moment I lift myself of the ground I spot the group crouched down in a circle around y/n.
I speed towards them as another scream rips through her throat. "Warriors, it is good you're finally awake. She has been screaming your name every once in a while, and
